  • what about mario bedescu? does it help? any reviews on their line?

  • Ah yes, I always had facial acne in my teen years. Then it went away (occasional hormonal spot) then all of a sudden I have now developed Back Acne. It's on the back on my shoulders and they are big and deep. It sucks! nothing I'm using will make them go away.

  • is that products available in Philippines?

  • ... I then, upon a trip to Primark (in the UK), bought some tea tree cleansing wipes. I must add, i did try other tea tree products, including neat oil, none worked. These wipes, which cost £1 for 2 packets of 25 wipes have done the job!!! Amazing!!! i now have a very occasional pimple (i haven't had one now for over a month) and i'm a very, VERY happy bunny!!! i would recommend giving these a go if u can get hold of them :o)

  • i had NEVER had acne until around 3 years ago when i was put on rather substantial medication. When i began these meds, i broke out all over the place. I tried various over the counter products, prescription remedies, homeopathic remedies, aromatherapy things, and various other alternative remedies. NOTHING got rid of it, some helped a little, a few made me break out worse, but most had little or no effect.....

  • I've had acne since I was about 13 and I'm now 26. I've used almost everything you could think of. I just found MD Formulations and I'm only on my second day of using it, but I can already see a difference!!! When I use other stuff for acne my face would get dry patches and still look oily in my T-zone area, but with this stuff my skin isn't oily at all!! I am so excited! It can be pricey, but I'm sure no more than dermalogica.

  • @mommydena MD Formulations is amazing! I don't know why more people aren't talking about it. Good stuff.

  • Dermalogica products are overhyper, overpriced garbage, simply put.

I do not have acne-prone skin. I wanted to use Dermalogica's products because everyone online always talks about how great they are... I spent upwards of $400 on products after having my face mapped professionally. I used the products for 10 months before I decided enough was enough. In that 10 months, there wasn't a day that passed that I didn't have pimples. When I switched back to my old skincare, everything healed.

  • yeah i wish i had bad skin younger, than NOW i hate my life going out now. its terrible!!!!! im 25, almost 26.

  • @ohthedrama GIRL i know how u feel =( I am going to be 23 this december and i am all busted!! Its soo embarassing. Like acne is like a teen thing... and to have it still when ur in your twenties... TALK about low self esteem. Ugh. I hope ur skin gets better and trust me i truly know how u feeeeel =(

  • Any tips for blackheads? Not to bad with acne, but I will see blackheads. And blackheads get on my nerves, lol

  • honestly cetaphil gentle cleanser has worked the best on me

  • How do you know how to find a great esthetician?

  • retin-a stopped working for me =( i LOVED my skin when it was working it was the best condition my skin was in. Literally flawless

  • retin-a ruined my skin :( i have pink all over my nose now because my skin reacted, and it's so hard to cover up! it wonn't go away

  • Does the retin a cream you use cause your skin to become red and peel?

  • I have really sensitive skin, and I've heard that the peels can leave your skin looking "burned". Is that true?

  • yeah cuz ur acne is so awful......

  • Are the products you are recommending 100% natural and safe?

A lot of acne products contain benzoyl peroxide which is linked to skin cancer... YIKES!

Check out my vids if you want to learn what I use!

    David "The Skin" King

    Acne Erasing Secrets Founder

  • I used getacnecure . com for my face and body acne. Great results and now i have clear and smooth skin. Works perfect on male and female both.

  • try acne.org regimen, ur skin will become dry but it works

  • @spaingirl87 he recommends benzoyl peroxide, and benzoyl peroxide is linked to cancer... So definitely do NOT use that! look into benzoyl peroxide and cancer research further before you use it... and stop using it right away if you are smart!

  • youre really sweet, thx, you made me feel alot better

  • Well I really cant afford all of those products, but I appriciate that you are honestly trying to help. God Bless!

  • you're so goregous marlene! on the inside and outside!

  • thanks to you I love my face and skin!! lol 1st the revlon foundation..now dermalogica :D I honestly love you for sharing your secrets with a bunch of people you don`t even know :) you`re probably the sweetest person on youtube

I hope you had a nice Christmas and I wish you a happy new year :)

  • I hope your skin gets well soon, although I can't see a single spot on you face..

  • No amount or kind of chemicals are going to get rid of acne until you balance ALL your hormones. I'm 29 and been dealing with acne since I was 13. I have tried everything. EVERYTHING. You name it, I've tried it ALL. Just within the past year have I gotten it under control, all by balancing my hormones and eating clean foods. I can wash my face with bar soap and still don't have acne, not one pimple in the past 9 months. Don't buy into the hype, these products are made to keep you dependent

  • @Stellablubell how do you balande your hormones? Are you under a certain regimen under a doctor?

  • @SilAndreAM I'm actually using holistic therapy. After dealing with11 different dermatologist over the past 16 years, and trying every topical ointment and antibiotic, I decided to go the natural approach. I just figured it was going to be one more thing I tried that wouldn't work. But honestly I've never felt, or looked better in my entire life. I'm on a few different herbs, the main one being Wild yam extract. Its pretty incredible. Its been used for thousand of years to balance hormones

  • @Stellablubell What other herbs are you using besides Wild yam extract? My skin has become absolutely horrible and I would really appreciate the help. Thanks :-)

  • @llspn6 the others I'm taking mainly help with digestion and balancing good/bad bacteria in your intestines (too much bad bacteria can actually lead to acne). I take dandelion root extract and oregon grape root extract. Both help your liver produce more bile to help with digestion. This is just what has worked for me, since I have also had issues with digestion. I suggest starting with the Wild Yam and maybe a birth control pill preferably Yaz and go from there. Hope it helps :)

  • @Stellablubell That's awesome!! What other herb extracts are you on? I've recently been using home remedies that have been helping, but I haven't been able to acheive totally clear skin. I'm also on birth control, for the acne, so idk if I could use wild yam with it =/

  • @mzjackofalltrades21 I wouldn't. Wild yam is a kind of herbal estrogen. It could throw off the effects of the pill, throwing your body into whack.

  • @Stellablubell Yes, I suggest that everyone stay on a natural approach when it comes to treating acne. The less chemicals on your face, the better!

  • @Stellablubell You're doing it right! All these acne fighting products are b.s. and a waste of money. Acne is your body's way of telling you you're treating it wrong. Diet, exercise and NATURAL products (i.e. without a brand and without processing) works the best. I make my own products in my kitchen and my skin is the best I've ever seen on anyone! People ask me what I do and offer to buy it.

  • I love your personality :)

  • If you guys have acne, you should definitely try DermaNew. Just search on Amazon for the DermaNew oil/acne set. I just got it and even after the first use half of my acne seems to have gotten better and my face feels like..as soft as a baby's butt haha!

  • Oh I forgot you can probably find a better price on beauty websites :)

  • really great stuff.. makeupgeektv and meganheartsmakeup are my 2 favorite youtube makeup gurus.. !! check out meganheartsmakeup's channel ialso f u can... shes also very talented for a younger blogger. you look great and im loving the vids ..keep em coming :)..

  • I am a Dermalogica trained Esthetician and I am sooo excited to hear you talk about their products!! I have been using their products for 2+ years now and my skin has gone from just okay to amazing!!! These products work people!!! :)

  • Omg your make up looks so natural in this video I love it! Gorgeous!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! Mine started in September right before I turned 31. It has been EXTREMELY frustrating and I noticed that it has taken a toll on my self confidence. I don't look like "me" anymore. Once I get this cleared I will never again take my skin for granted. Sometimes you don't know what you have until it's gone. Well thanks for the suggestions. I am really looking forward to your makeup tips because I feel like anything I do right now is gonna highlight the acne.

  • Do you think this brand would be ok for sensitive skin?

  • Hi, I got a question. I want my skin to look dewy after appling foundation but i have oily skin. How can I achieve that?

  • Also, fyi for any viewers w/adult acne or sensitive skin: a good mid-price moisturizer for adult acne that you can buy at CVS is La Roche-Posay Toleriane Fluid... It's technically for ultrasensitive/rosacea skin, but it's great for adult acne. It's a pure oil-free hydrator with no fragrances or colors, and it's one of my all time favorites. I think it's around $23 at CVS, maybe cheaper online. LR-P is an all-around good line if you've never tried it. :)

  • Hello, I'm also an esthetician, and I agree with ANobleBeauty about going more of a calming route. In addition to hormones, adult acne is very frequently about irritation and/or systemic inflammation. Generally you want to avoid harsh or abrasive products and and a lot of rubbing, which is why the retinoids tend to work a bit better. Also, I don't recommend benzoyl peroxide for adult acne because it's so harsh and drying. Adults do far better with salicylic acid than BP. Great vid!

  • I started having the same problems about 6 months ago and spent tons of money on different products trying to clear my skin. I finally saw a dermatologist and was told I was TOO MANY products! She recommended Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer and prescribed RetinA for use at bedtime. My skin is improving, but remember it does take time and will likely get worse before seeing maximum results. Keep in mind, RetinA increases sun sensitivity and you should avoid waxing your brows while using it.

  • this is random, but i absolutely LOVE the chair you are sitting in!!

  • omg this video came at the perfect time. I'm 23 yrs old and just started breakin out a month ago with whiteheads and pimples :(

  • Maybe your pregnant. That's when I got my adult acne;)

  • @MsPinkgrl me too :(

  • Is there any drugstore products that u know that work just the same if not better

  • how much is the dermalogica stuff./

  • I really hope you are not over-doing it by using so many products. If you have a friend with a cosmetology license, they can get you a bottle of 'chemical or glycolic peel' for a fraction of the cost! Please keep in mind that by using some of these products, your skin is WAY more sun-sensitive and you will be more prone to permanent sun damage.

  • i think its way better to deal with acne from the inside, not out.

  • @LxNaw781 What does that mean? I'm not being rude or anything, I just don't know what you mean...Are you saying if you have acne you should eat better?

  • @KaraGail92 yea =] ... like, change diet... stop eating junk food etc... gotta eat more healthier.. fruits & veggies.

  • @Dejavu193 yeah

  • Obagi is amazing! My skin has never been so clear! Only downfall it can be harsh but with a good exfoliator and moisturizer its amazing!

  • hey ... I just wanted to say that every time you do an exfoliation on your skin, you damage your skin ... a healthy skin regenerates itself somewhere between 1 an 2 months ... exfoliating your skin so much realy damages it ...

  • i went allorganic spent 80.00 and got ok results but i got a free example of oxy advanced and seen a huge differents so i ent out and bought the full size set.love it.

  • @sarahince27 wuts cell food?

    sounds healthy...lol.

    thanks!

  • HSN has a product similar to the Clarisonic called the Nutra Sonic, but it's cheaper than the Clarisonic (only $120 compared to $195). I've been using it for at least five months so far and I really like it. It cleans the skin very well and comes with three different brush heads (sensitive, normal, and body).

  • One thing that I have found to work as a spot treatment is sudocrem. Its mainly used as a nappy rash cream but can be used for acne as it dries up the problem without overdrying the skin. And if it's good enough for a baby's backside....

  • I Have Child Acney Since A Young Age.{PS.Im Now 12

  • @1998Loz LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL so cute

  • Do you really love your Clairsonic? I am debating... let me know thx! <3

  • I love Dermalogica first started using it when I was 17 and still use it to this day and my skin has improved a lot! As well as eating healthy, and drinking plenty of water.

  • I started breaking having crazy breakouts around when I turned 19 like never before. I tried so many products but none of them seemed to give consistent results. But I've been using Proactiv the past couple of months and it seems to do the trick!

  • I am an Esthitician in training and we use Dermalogica. One thing to note is that the Dermal Clay Cleanser should only be used on women who have a more thicker skin because the product has menthol in it and can sensitize some skins, The Active Moist should not be used on sensitive or skins also. The BEST acne product is to use the Overnight Clearing Gel. It is usually a spot treatment but can be used on a larger area. Everyone who uses it swears by it... It is a miracle worker!!

  • You're so sweet and seem really genuine, love your vids :)

  • The 3-step Clenziderm/Obagi system is very effective for acne problems of all ages. While I was on it, my acne was very controlled. But, the $100+ price tag every few months too much for my current (college) budget. I have a tube of Retin-A that I'm rationing, but it causes 'peeling' for me (because it speeds up cell turnover, so the stratum corneum of your epidermis is being replenished and shed more quickly). If I could choose, I'd go back to the Clenziderm system, but for now, Clinique. :)

  • my best advice for getting rid of acne is: Drink lots and lots of water, eat healthy (or course)... and theres this acne gel that, i swear, is probably the best out there, called Epiduo! Seriously, guys, its really good stuff!

  • My face has started breaking out a lot in the last year since I went off of the pill. What has worked AMAZINGLY for me has been... and I know this is weird lol... I take an asprin, just a plain old generic even lol asprin, crush it up and add a tiny bit of water to make it a paste and then I pack t on to the blemish and leave it over night. The next day the blemish is gone or is at least almost flat!! It's amazing!!!

  • Marlena thank you so much for addressing the struggle that many of us have. I have always had great skin up until I had my second child 10 years ago. It took a huge toll on my self esteem, which also led to many nights crying. I just wanted to voice out that after 10 years of struggling with my acne I decided to get a second opinion on everything. I went to a new ob dr and explained (while hysterically crying I might add) all of my problems (acne & facial hair included) he immediately diagnosed

  • please do a tutorial on the sephora all is bright holiday look

  • @marcos4life go to a Sephora and ask them to do an Express Service with you on how to achieve that look... everyone is trained to do it

  • @daisy7859 Awesome. Thanks for the tip =)

  • how much does a glyol peel cost?

  • Marlena,

If you like the Dermalogica products, try a combination of the Daily Micro with Special Cleansing Gel or Clearing Skin Wash. The Special Cleansing Gel whips into a really nice lather and then just add in your Daily Micro - it's really easy to work with. I just graduated my Esthetics program and we used Dermalogica :) Also, they make a Skin Hydrating Booster that works really well on the little dry patches of skin. I hope your skin starts to get better!

  • yes, it IS frustrating! I have been using concealer ALL over my face and feel like I have to wear makeup to go anywhere outside my house. I'm 35 now and have dark spots all over. People used to actually comment on how beautiful my skin was when I was 17. What is the deal?! It makes me so sad.

  • @Girlin204 Well... That's the problem, you're trying to cover up the problem instead of SOLVING the problem. Trust me! Stop using that heavy makeup! Search it up! People who have stopped using foundation helped them a lot. Foundation and concealer just clog up the pores, also the chemical in it absorbs in your organs which are released through the skin. Both of these combine causes acne. Searching up natural remedies and use them, they WILL WORK. Good luck!

  • @back2beauty

I am trying to solve the problem, but in the meantime, it's still a problem and I don't feel like I can leave the house looking all spotty. It's really an embarrassment. I have darker skin too so even when the pimples heal, they leave a dark spot/scar. I'm also a performer so I can't just wear nothing on my face and expect no one to notice.

I was just voicing my frustration over my issue and relating to Marlena in my previous comment.

  • @Girlin204 Yeah, I do understand what you're saying, because I have redness under my nose and stuff and I feel the need to cover it up as well! But it was just a suggestion informing you how foundation can affect your skin - hope you understand! [:

  • where are those products sold?

  • whenever i wear make-up, i use all the right brushes and techniques, but my foundation still looks flakey and cakey. around my nose and cheeks my pores are big, could that be why? i feel like i may not be exfoliating properly, but even if my pores aren't clogged, i feel like the makeup leaks into my pores.. could i need a new primer that fills them in properly?? i use the mac prep n prime.. helpl!!

  • I've been going through this!! PERFECT Timing.. Thank you so much for this info!! Hormonal acne is the absolute worst and does not cut you any slack :-/

  • I'm in cosmetology school and we actually sell dermalogica and had a class on the products recently from a representative. I've used their products while giving facials, but have never bothered trying the products myself. I get a 50% school discount too! :D I plan on buying some of the products now.

  • @SophieKalle thanks Sophie :)

  • Welcome to the club Marlena. As you may know - the advantage of an oily skin is that wrinkels will appear later than usual.

  • what type of doctor does one go to to get the hormones checked? Please answer!!!

  • @ghsv111 just your regular family doctor, the same one you'd go to for a yearly checkup and get blood work done.

  • @katwatson007 thank you so much!

  • @ghsv111 any general physician can check them. they will draw blood and contact you with the results

  • Yes, please do the concealing acne video! :)

  • How much does the brush thing cost?

  • Thanks for sharing. I never had a lot of acne as a teen, but now since hitting my adult years I've been breaking out a lot. My dermatologist gave me a list of drugstore products to try, along with a daily pill and Epiduo acne cream. So far its working but i have a little scarring and very oily skin.

  • Also using the products with my Clarsonic Mia really gets my skin clean and it looks refreshed. ;)

  • I think I'll try those products out to see if they work for me! Thanks you! :)

  • I looooooove dermalogica! The daily microfoliant is amazing, i use it every night! :)

    thanks for this video!

  • Retin-A=WIN haha I have teen acne... but I'm not tha toily---anyways, I use Retin A 0.04% i think that's the highest they prescribe but it has done wonders I used to have terrible cystic acne and now I have some scarring but wow it's done freakin' wonders!! Woot woot! Goodness gracious you're beautiful :)

  • have you been drinking/ eating more soy lately? that causes hormone imbalances and breakout. good luck!

  • @zamoonlight, I totally agree with you. I really really really love her personality !!!!!

    Personality shines her even more.

  • oh my gosh! i just bought the clarisonic MIA three days ago and i love it! my face feel truly clean. Your skin looks glowing, girl!

  • what lip gloss are you using here?

  • Dermalogica is the best!! I've been using it for 5 years now and it's awesome! It's pricey, but so worth it!! I don't break out nearly as badly as I used to and my skin is less oily!!

  • I'm using "Murad" products lately i just have to say that i just started it recently but i have high hopes...

  • Every time I think of a makeup look which I want to achieve or I want a solution for something, You upload a video regarding my problem. What a coincidence! I've learnt a lot from you Marlena, Just wanted to say you're awesome! :D Keep the videos comin!

  • @tigeress227 Hahaha, aren't coincidence like the weirdest thing ever!? LOL!

  • @tigeress227

    >I've learnt a lot from you Marlena

    >learnt a lot from

    >learnt

  • My husband and I use Neutragena facial wash. It has salacylic acid in it. And it works really well.

  • I have the same problem..i just went from normal skin to very dry. No creams worked for me. I had to change my diet....:)

  • I have been getting acne recently a lot too! I have found an amazing product that has actually worked! I have used everything....proactiv, murad, dr thomas roth....everything....and i came across this umbrian clay bar while browsing through sephora. Its like a block of clay that you rub on your face and let it dry and its just amazing. your skin feels sooo clean! Just something that worked for me.

  • @igarcia165sister can u please tell me the name of that bar i would love to try it plz

  • Marlena, you are so kind and sweet. I wish I knew you in person and had you as a friend. I can tell you would be a great one to have. Thank you for giving great advice and fun tutorials all the time. BTW, you look great!

  • noxema and stridex have been working the best for me..and iv had problems since i was 10.

  • If you haven't tried Paulas Choice products you really should. It has help me a lot with my skin problems. You can get it online on her website.

  • oh poor people who have had great skin their entire life...

  • thanks for the share, i'm in the same boat, though my skin has the "benefit" of also being super-sensitive... i have had great results with philosophy & cetaphil, but my problem has been more from how my skin reacts to harsh things. however, if there are any out there with problem skin that is also sensitive, i'd love to hear what ya'll did!

  • great video, thanks so much! could you possibly do a gothic style makeup tutorial?

  • u know you can return things if they dont work right? lol get some of ur money back

  • i love dermalogica and also use retin A. so i would say that this is a good video about dealing with acne because i have oily, acne prone skin and this is the stuff i use with the exception of the clarisonic, benzoyl peroxide products (because benzoyl peroxide has never worked for me, only salicylic acid) and glycolic peels. i will definitely need to try out the dermal clay cleanser because i currently use the clearing skin wash from dermalogica.

    thanks for posting this.

  • where do you buy these products.

  • I love the Clarisonic Brush, but it needs to be used sparingly. I know you where a lot of makeup, but the Dermalogica PreCleanse is an excellent way to remove makeup without being too harsh. Too much exfoliation actually dries out your skin because the outer most layer of skin is what holds in our moisture and if you strip that away, you skin reacts with more oil production! Hope this helps!

  • Marlena, I'm an Esthetician who works with Dermalogica products. I'm shocked at how many products your Esthetician has you using. Adult onset acne is most often hormone related. Personally I would have recommended the UltraCalming cleanser and use of the Daily Microfoliant only 2-3 times a week, not everyday. Using the Microfoliant and the Dermal Clay Cleanser everyday is too much and will cause more oil production. "Less is more" also applies to skin care!

  • @ANobleBeauty I agree, I am in Esthetics school and we use Dermalogica products. I don't much care for the dermal clay cleanser cause of the menthol.

  • @Brittany41586 I'm not a big fan of it either. I definitely wouldn't use it everyday. I typically use it as a mask. The clay and menthol are great for a mask!

  • Your smile is contagious!!! :)

  • I also just wanted to thank you for this video Marlena, hopefully your acne is a just temporary ... maybe you should also try to limit you make up and the peels, maybe ur skin is having a reaction to all the chemicals in these acne solutions. All the best!

  • how does the face was feel like afer washing? :) just wanted to know, thanks!

  • Thank you so much for doing this video! So helpful!

  • I find that benzoyl peroxide dries me out too and doesn't work very well. And your skin can also get addicted to it. I prefer salacyllic (sp?) acid.

  • damn you acne :(

  • 55 people are facepalming guys, including me.

  • 23 seconds hey.. not 24.. 23!!!!

  • great vid!!

  • wht about warm water before bed

    is it good?

how to get rid of those acne scars ?

  • Am I the only one who noticed that she was at the far right if the frame about to go out of it the whole time

  • High Fructose Corn Syrup and Dairy= Cause of Acne. Cut them out, problem solved.

  • Did you try to get a facial? it should help

  • take vitamins.. it's work like charm

  • Nice video! I sub you now =)

  • Before going and forking out cash to healthcare companies make sure u have this down pat.

    1. Keep ur face clean

    2. Change bedsheets and ur pillowcase regularly; at least once or twice a week

    3. Don't eat junk food

    4. Drink plenty of water

    5. Eat ur fruits and vegetables

    6. Try not to stress about things. Just get things done as soon as you know you have to do them.

Then go buy the junk for ur face

  • @alexsamuraiuuu Actually, hormones is the no 1 factor who gives acne, not what you eat or drink. Ive have a friend who is superhealthy, no junk nor alocohol, but she still gots alot of acne, and another friend of mine is the other way around, she eats junk and candy on a daily basis, and still got superclean skin.

  • @TheLanaRamone I totally agree with the fact that the main reason IS hormonal, but in essence, you can't really do that much about your hormonal processes taking place within ur body.. You can of course supress them with certain products (antibiotics for example) but it seriously can't hurt to nourish your body with the nutrients it needs so as to regulate hormonal production somewhat; and let me tell you, food plays a major role in creating and handling of hormones ;)

  • @alexsamuraiuuu Yes ofc. I agree. Im just sayin because alot of people seem to think that you foodhabits affect your skin more than your hormones, it does at some point, but it is not the main cause. I have myself been dealing with acne during my younger days, and (as you were saying) taking antibioctis, it worked for me better than any skin produkt have ever done. So ye, don't buy all fancy-pricy products. It doesnt work, believe me.

  • @alexsamuraiuuu EXACTLY

  • @alexsamuraiuuu true story

  • @RufetVIP

    I totally agree.

  • Adult acne sucks so much!! I´m taking oral tretoin...a treatment for 2 months...it has helped a lot!!!

  • your skin will not Breathe with all that shit on your face.... and in your 30:s ull look like 40 without the makeup ! so thats FAKE

  • Hey, I wanted to know if Proactiv can help subside acne? Does it really work?

  • if it's anything like monastat 7, 4 the itch, the embarressing odor you think everyone will notice. but yeah " Puff DaDdy says it'll work, so be smearin that mayonaise looking 3 STep system, results, dam near immediate ;

  • @stars1885 it didnt work for me... it dried my skin a lot and i had to start using a heavy night cream to get my skin to normal.. my skins not that dry not but i still get breakouts and my old acne scars are still here... besides if u miss using proactiv even once, u get breakouts straight away.... from my friends and my own experience..

  • What a complete fucking whore.
