Angie, I've been looking on You Tube at videos about "Altered Books". It's a form of scrap-booking where you take a book and change it to be more artsy. You can journal in them or do whatever. Your journal is kind of like that. I like yours better because its not so complicated. I'm going to do one like yours. :-)
I just started to work on another one just last night believe it or not. I LOVE doing it. Actually as I look at the pic above of this video, it's the same one I started with in this video..I'm finally in need of a new chore journal...Will have to share a video again to show everyone. It is so easy and your right LESS complicated...
I find it SO relaxing sitting down and just going through the magazines and cutting out items that just minister to me or is pleasing to my eye....It is definitely fun to do and sure makes the journal so much prettier I find.

I was hoping to have something like this put on my the Catholic Women's League, for a Mother/Daugther tea time and they could make their own little journal for one another where they would write back to one another each day or whatever. Shaneah I did this for a few years. Still have the journals.
@freespirithome What a precious idea!! I'm living back at home temporarily with my mom and teenage sister and I think this would be an activity that would help us to grow closer together and help us to express our love in a creative way. Thanks for the videos- I sub'd =)
Oh girl, I could EASILY be a list person, but then that would be ONE more thing for me to keep up with - ha. I love journals though. I have kept them for years (more like diaries).
haha I do the exact same!! I am obsessed with making lists and I have like 40 different notepads just filled with lists and scribbles, I only have a few that I have made special with scrapbooking magazine cut outs but it is so much fun :)

I love this idea! I'm started to get into Paper crafting/scrapbooking and this is a great idea to use!!
