  • i love this song anyway, and what Mr. Carpenter does with it is so much fun.

it just struck me that if he had red piping down the side of his pants, that would be a great Han Solo cosplay.

  • I would like to put this one out there & roll the Dice for the world to read & see what they think of this idea. I would Love more than anything in the world for Richard Carpenter to get the Carpenter band together (including Herb, & Burt who were a Big part) & do a tribute show for Karen &Tony. Why not one more time, for the good old times. Everyones getting older each & every year, I really believe in my heart that this would be special & Karen could be included on a Big Screen with Pictures

  • @vmuto1 Richard to do the singing part as well?

  • Brilliant music

  • girls. LOVE. that guy.

  • Wow!

  • check out me playing this song on my channel

  • What fun! I hope that's sister Karen on drums!

  • yeah you shred on that harpsichord! oh.. oh wait! A LITTLE PIANO! EVEN BETTER! YAH

  • HAHA

    love the showmanship here

    and the accurac y

  • that waz gud it wernt out at the end, itz a more jazzy version than the liberace version for example so as long as he ended on the A chord it dosent matter what lead up to it in my opininon cause it resolved from dissonant to normal. Jazz getz away wiv it :) tell me if am wrong cause Il shut up if i am lol

  • Oh I know

  • oh no, he's playing for real.... Watch as he leaves the harpsichord, he's is playing the rest with his left hand as he's walking away from it. Amazing,mmm,,m/

  • @Beafteck89 tha'ts the point!!

  • LOL!

  • One might say it was all staged, but the last piece was so out, it had to be real..sorry Richard, the ending was ouch !!

  • That was... ridiculous. Wow.

  • I think so when the first time I watched this video. But later I found that his left hand is still playing (behind the body) when he is moving to the next piano.

  • 1:28 secs - It's amazing how he continues to play the clavinet without using any fingers :)

  • also could be partially because youtube hates musicians and has like a 5-10ms sync mismatch after upload

  • Busted Richard!

  • Definitely my favorite rendition of this classic song! Doesn't seem to get too much better than this!

  • I just sold that very same toy piano.

  • He's amazing. I love this video. And also the one where Karen goes to all the drums.

  • I saw Richard do this live in concert a few years back. (well, 1997 or 1998) If you think the video is great, you should have seen it live! He didn't go from instrument to instrument, just on the grand, but it was spectacular nonetheless.

  • That was incredible; I especially loved the part where Richard played the toy piano!

  • Incredible. Only Richard, little LIberacci could do it!

    Lisa

  • Now all I hope for is a clavichord, & especially small "Butterfly Grand" piano-electric or digital. Wish I had been able to purchase in 1975. However Love my 7'Grand! - Penny

  • Thank You,LoveHoward Banister, I loved Karen & Richard, performed many of their songs in my musical career. I have M.A. in Piano Performance & B.A. in Vocal. -Penny (Still miss Karen, born the same year as me.) :(

  • I almost get vertigo when i watch this video:)

However, not when I Play it! Richard was & is a great pianist & arranger. And I miss Karen so much-what a voice! Perform it on my 7'grand & still have electric piano like that,& now digital.(Noticed the toy piano was just like my antique!) - Penny,M.A.

  • Wow. You can play that? That whole song was recorded in three different recording sessions. That's wonderful you can play it all.

  • that was amazing
