  • nice..

  • i never knew na may uploaded vid nito.. back then 2005, nung third year hs ako..our english teacher handed us over the copy of her speech made us memorize and study the speech...ngayon isa na akong overseas worker in dubai ill always remember her and the borderless world...proud to be pinoy

  • hey @bonidos - cant you understand her speech...??? maybe you need to check it again... its not really she wanted it, and as of now.... it's just her dreams as a young girl back then... brought by colonization but then she have many realizations from it...

  • i love it :D

  • Filipino wanted a blonde hair and blue eyes? That's very ambitious sweetheart because its very rare.

    1) Because brown hair and eyes of Asians and Africans are too dominant and light hair and eyes are recessive.

    2) Asians and Africans don't have a single recessive blonde gene unlike black haired and eyed White people. If you have the gene then there's a likelihood.

3)Because of interracial marriage, its predicted that light skinned and eyed people will be extinct in 200 years.

  • Hi pat... Can I use this piece for our oration? I really love it... thanks... ;)

  • Filipina = Money loving materialistic blood suckers.

  • Did she win the contest she particiapted in?

  • @jurbinsky77 Yes, indeed she won. Out of 59 competitors from 30+ countries, she had the best speech

  • Ironically, those in the diaspora, or Filipinos scattered abroad are much Filipino than the majority in their homeland.

  • oh my gosh she inspires mo so much, especially what she does today. GO FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE :))

  • WTF U WANNA BE BLONDE BLUE EYED AND WHITE WTF

  • this is a hate speech blame everthing on white man with his blonde hair and blue eyes thats racism.

  • @kidri0t you're pretty much an idiot. it's more of a self-hatred inward racism or prejudice than hating the white man. Where was the blame here? Wow you're too dense to grasp the depth of this young lady.

  • Brilliant. :)

  • She's a living inspiration to young speakers like us!

  • way to go girl! you make us Filipinos proud.

  • 36 of my 42 years of life have been in America. I went home in 2005 for the first time since leaving Pinas when I was 6. Who can resist FALLING in LOVE with the Philippines.... I wish to retire there, when all is said and done. Mabuhay....!!!

  • she is right . that is the reason why i am going home to PHILIPPINES naxt month. Middle East offers greener pastures but the happiness coming from materials things cannot surpass the ones within .

  • nyc emman... la lng...

  • After watching these..... I found myself " in tears, im flowing". I am from the Philippines, a student here in UK, and was fortunate that i was able to travel and visit many countries, meeting different races with different cultures, and i know how it feels..... " it is giving back" - better than waking up with snow falling outside the window on Christmas day. Coming Home is much more to me.

  • Right on the money! Me and my wife will retire in the Philippines! She is Dutch (blonde hair and blue eyes) but she likes the Philippines sooo much better lmao XD

  • Ito ang tunay na babe maganda na matalino pa biruin mo, UP debater, what more could I say, haaaay swerte ng magiging Asawa niyan

    ANG GALING MO!

  • PATRICIA EVANGALISTA is the "ONLY" true FILIPINO...WHY??BECAUSE SHE IS THE ONLY FILIPINO THAT IS WILL TO ADMIT HER WEAKNESS THAT MOST FILIPINOS ARE TOO ASHAMED OF DOING...THAT IS WHY SHE IS BEAUTIFUL.

  • at least listen and ponder on it..it's worth some thought..

  • Then What??????

  • fuck!!!!men......this woman should be the president!

  • so?

  • really????

  • nice!!!^"^"^"^"

  • Comment removed

  • based from what I gather through viewing the vid... this was a presentation of the original impromptu speech to a computer science society in a professionals congress... so this presentation was not impromptu.. but I would assume that her original performance (of the same speech to an international community in london) would be very similar seeing that she won..:)

  • you know what, if you are a writer or a speaker, either way, you master your own masterpiece, pals try to create/compose your own article/speech, di ba mamemorize mo ung work mo? Tell you ung mga Brits and Aussies bilib na bilib sa pinoy pagdating sa ganyan, i speak to you now, i was rated exemplary performance in the english test because i'm a filipino....loaded with a. an and the. hehehehehe!@!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey! im gonna recite partricia's speech....

    hope i can do well!

  • i love patricia! galing! :)

  • im a hundred percent girl pero super crush ko 2ng c patricia.Whether her speech is memorized or not STILL I BELIEVED THAT SHE'S THE ONE WHO MADE IT.she's exceedingly good in it. hindi lng sa speech making kundi pati sa pag-deliver nung message.

  • isnt this the speech she WON IN A COMPETITION IN UK WHERE SHE BAGGED THE GOLD AMONG THOUSANDS OF COMPETITORS?

    SHE'S A PINOY PRIDE!!

  • First time ko magcocomment ngaun..I uploaded this video para ishare sa mundo how brilliant ang speech nya..Walang mali sa lahat ng sinabi nya...I will always remember her speech..Proud to be Pinoy.!

  • @bonidos you can find many people like her in baguio city. students of different universities of baguio city are trained very well

  • @bonidos Filipino wanted a blonde hair and blue eyes? That's very ambitious sweetheart because its very rare.

    Btw I'm Asian.

  • She is brilliant . . . I am a tourism student graduating this march and yes i plan to leave this country. I do feel a little ashamed of leaving my mother land...why would i leave? to fulfill my own goals...of course! this speech reminded me of the reason why i should go back...i'll just get filthy rich and then go back here! and buy Philippine airlines! hahaha! asa! go piNoys! ;)

  • what's d point of doz comments posted below? as far as i know, these videos (as well as Gian's video) were uploaded for d Filipinos and foreigners to see, plus para mainspired mga kabayans from their achievements.

  • PART 3: The first time i heard her speech.I became proud of the heritage i call my own.YOU ARE A CRAB. pulling down people just so they won't get ahead. SHAMe ON YOU.

  • PART 2: I don't want to be mean or anythng, but, you r a loser in a sense that, I, speech teachr, find her english impeccble and irrevocbly pure. Unaccntd and very neutral. Unlike most Brits and Americans who couldn't speak ryt due to their accent. Patricia said every syllable in true accord to the english language. Noting that like most filipinos, ENGLISH ISN'T OUR MOTHER TONGUE. I hope you'd be kinder. She won because her message transcends time and space.

  • PART 1 : jeromemdayao you are a very sad and disturbed person. truth is, you are in no position to say such mean things to a girl/about a girl who has given such great pride to our country. Our country has been a lost cause since pple lyk you have apprd in the scene.

  • I saw her interview with Cito Beltran years back, and Patricia said that the reason why she won was because the judges thought "she really had something to say," unlike the other contestants whose speeches were all about solving problems regarding the issue.

  • Was this speech impromptu, extempo or what?? Sobrang hanga ako pag impromptu 'to...

  • I'm pretty sure this is memorized. This was the speech she competed in the public speaking contest in London.

  • This particular performance was memorized, But for that public speaking competition in London, how much prep time did she have? Didn't their speeches have to be related to a certain topic announced by the judges? Or not?

  • I'm not sure how much prep time they had. But I think it was a couple of weeks, maybe months because I remember her saying in the interview that her mentors in UP helped her in creating and rehearsing this speech.

  • Nga pala, the speech she did here was the one she competed in London.

  • WOW!!! she is one brilliant kid! i wonder what would it be like to have a chat with her. it would be the best moments of my life, I think.

  • Well,,all I can say is she's ssooo perfectionist in this field. She is so wise and good enough to formulate such marvelous and meaningful words in her speech in just a sec.,,I think not all of us can do that so easily and calmly right?Oh c'mon,,she's good and talented...truly this is her gift.,,Presently she's working on a newspaper com. i think and is living happily in her own family^^

  • you said she was able to think of marvelous words IN JUST A SEC. So was this speech impromptu? Did she have just really few minutes to make this?

  • i have a friend who is a public speaker, he won first prize in national contest and was sent to china for an international competition.... anyways, right before the competition, just like any other competition, they practice, they reviewed topics and possible topics to be discussed, usually the current ones, and trained by their respective coaches. point is, they're trained to think that way.

right in the contest proper, they usually were given 3 min to formulate a speech after given a topic..

  • We,,all I can say is she's ssooo perfectionist in this field.

  • mabuhay ang mga pango!!

    mabuhay!

    mabuhay!

    mabuhay!

  • galing mo naman!asteeeeeeeeeg!

  • Her accent may be different than those of the Americans or the British, but she is Filipino. We're not asking her to speak in Tagalog, in which case, her accent would be perfect. Personally, I like her accent being different because it would show that we are not little brown Americans and we are Not aiming to be that way.

  • Normally, I read comments before I watch the video because it takes a long time for the vid to load. Therefor, I really have to say that I think you jeromemdayao, are not truly looking at the essence of what is most important. Although I see no signs of something being wrong with the accent and the nuance, I wouldn't care, even if there were problems. The speech itself is really good and although I don't like her intro of the blonde and blue eyes thing, I think it was a good strategy to use.

  • hey guyz. easy lang kau. I agree w/.. cnu ba 2? hehe bzta ung nasa baba! juz try to internalize na lang po ung message ni patricia. Its not about being magaling naman eh. try to see that this speech is really nice for us filipino's kc overwhelming tlaga ung mga sinabi nya, hehe, aq rn, blak q mg-overseas sumday, pro bblik dn aq 2lad nung cnabi ni patricia.. wla lng, share q lng po.. speech kasi namn 2 sa english class 1 nxtwik s Global City Innovative College, I hope dt I wud get a good grade..

  • hey, guys... let's just appreciate the message of the speech. :-D peace.

  • this was our speech a while ago in public speaking. my gawd. i totally murdered her speech!! :[

  • bakit sa libro nmin ang title ng speech nya is BORDERLESS WORLD by patricia evangelista...??

  • im sorry to disagree to the other comments..bt i think the speech was really great.., if you are judging the speech based on the way she delivered it,i agree that she did not do a gud job in delivering dis 1, but i thnk that is because the contest was olready finished. judge it based on the content, and try to understand what she is saying and wat she is not trying to say, then ul understand why she won. she based her work in facts and nothing more.

  • Sorry, I like gian dapul's (Fish Mucus and Foot Fungus) speech better than her.

  • totally agree. Her speech is just like a beside da kalye speech. nothing special, nothing phenomenal.

  • Beside the kalye? Are you for real? I don't think you know what you are talking about!

  • "beside da kalye", what the? jerome dayao, duh!!! you cannot even translate that to english?

here is a word for you:

ignoramus - an extremely ignorant person. synonyms - jerome dayao also see - marufie

  • Translating words to English does not prove anything. Face it. You are filipino, english is just your second language. We can never master it like the natives can. We might be able to speak it, but it(our english) will never be better than the ones who really speak it natively. Kaya kalye talga--kalyeng kalye.

  • If you read all your posts before, who do you think is "nagmamagaling"? And I quote "panget ang speech, ang accent at ang nuances... I wonder why she won... She wouldn't even win an oratorical contest elem division. "

Si Patricia nagmamagaling? She joined a contest!

Nuff said.

  • See, your understanding is really mundane. I did not say na nagmamagaling si patricia. Kung babasahin mo lang ung last comment ko, I'm pertaining to people like you. Mahilig kasing mag-galing galingan. kasuka.

  • dumbass! read it again. I wonder why she won... She wouldn't even win an oratorical contest elem division. "

Si Patricia nagmamagaling? She joined a contest! Ang nagmamagaling na judges(who some are probably native english speakers)ang nagsabi na magaling sya.

  • So your 1st comment is not "nagmamagaling"? Just answer the question.

panget ang speech, ang accent at ang nuances... I wonder why she won... She wouldn't even win an oratorical contest elem division. - jeromemdayao

I bet you will say hindi ka nagmamagaling parin. Kasuka? ikaw ang suka.

  • Nako masyado kang affected. I wont waste my time arguing with you. You're not worth my time.

  • Haha!!! I knew it, you cannot answer my question if your 1st comment is not "nagmamagaling"? Pathetic. Kung sino ka man, or sino ako, you can be a magna cum laude from some barrio in luzon, and i can be just an alcoholic from a bar in makati, but the bottom line is pahiya ka.

    Cheers!

I googled your name after you gave this comment. I was thinking, feeling nito ang high ng level niya. Bkt kaya?

Dont let it go to your head, dear. Congrats sa iyong awards, gudluck sa iyong attitude.

  • You know what, the problem with us Filipinos is that we can't seem to understand that other people are entitled to their own opinion inasmuch as we are too--my opinion is that. People may think otherwise, but it doesn't stop you, me or anybody from giving our thoughts and expressing our views. Salamat sa iyong salita. And as I say you are entitled to whatever thoughts you have, after all we are living in a free world.

  • Who the h e l l cares who you like? I guess Foot fungus and marufie do go together. As well as fish mucus and and jerome.

  • Well well, that is the fact. I'm sorry that it is harsh. But she really is not amazing. She's good but not good enough.

  • its too bad you were not part of the judges. The contest needs judges like you to add credibility to the results.

  • I agree with you.

  • Well jerome, can you point us to someone who is good enough so we can see your standards?

  • panget ang speech, ang accent at ang nuances... I wonder why she won... She wouldn't even win an oratorical contest elem division.

  • Really? She wouldn't? and i'm sure you can. And you know better than the judges.

  • talaga...magaling ka siguro!!!

  • well can you compete onto her? i dont think so.. such a stupid pinoys like you will never help build this nation!

  • I disagree. The speech is good, the message comes across and she delivers it with conviction. She is better than most. How would you like her to sound like? Like a native English speaker would talk when she isn't one? Blah.

  • part 1:

  • part 2:

ganun talaga ang buhay parang life.

  • I bet you are better looking and more articulate than she is.

  • i never wanted to be blond and blue eyed.

    well crafted piece though.

  • di ka naman si patricia e, and u did not win that contest.

  • whatever

  • Is there anyone who can upload the performance of Gian Karlo Daful, 2008 winner in the 27th (EU) Annual International Public Speaking Competition held in London?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Fish Mucus and Foot Fungus....in the search bar :)

  • very good speech, however i myself never wanted to be white or have blue eyes ;-)

  • WOW!!! Pilipino po ako.

  • I feel proud being a UP student...

  • 5:27 "maganda katawan nya" haha, sheesh perv! I could've heard it wrong though

  • I've read the speech somewhere, and it was really good. I guess so is the delivery. I just wished it didn't seem so "rehearsed"... it just didn't look very natural this one. But overall, awesome speech.

  • is she from up? gossh.. she's so intelligent!!!

  • What a SPLENDID GOD GIVEN TALENT you have PAT... keep it up I'm sure I will see you some day soon in the pedestal of not only filipino talents but in the world talents. CONGRATULATIONS to you and your family!!!

  • SPLENDID

  • wow, this girl's awesome!

  • i've never been more inspired.

    THANKS YOU.

    mabuhay !! (:

  • i can still recall what she said during the NLTSGO 06,.,

"Ateneo is located AT THE DARK SIDE OF KATIPUNAN"..

    ahahaha

  • i love Pat..

    she's a great speaker...

    i can still recall

  • thumbs up!!! to u pat.
