has any one got the australian version of about 1987 now that was good but it was here for a blink and i never can find it.. sounds very cose to this but a little better belive it or not
ok i think that maybe he didnt reach the right note when he shouted starlight express. Otherwise pretty good. Someone needs to get the original up on youtube
ok i see where ur coming from but still to me it sounded off key at that bit. It sounded weak aswell. i am someone who loves starlight express and it just didnt sound right.
i disagree, i think its the power that makes it sound off. Oliver Rhoe Thornton had one of the most powerful voices i've ever heard, when he was in rent, i went just to hear him kick out a top B. amazing vocalist.
have u ever heard the origanal rusty sing it. coz i have and that was amazing. The power of the one note was amazing. This to me sounds off key. It is MY opinion.
its not in a key, its not sung, its shouted. if you really wanna get deep about it, vocalist shouldn't shout like a normal person, so they use the same technique as singing. by riginal rusty do u mean ray shell? I find a shouted emotive performance better than a bluesy lower sung version. for me, Jermey Kocals has the best beginning to this song. I'm not knocking your opinion, but its not sung, so it can't be off key.
I was in London in 1995 for the musical. And since I am a huge fan of starlight express. It is the best in the world. I hope that it is still listed in England, because next year I'm back in London.
@jessonine Don't we all lol :P - I cant remember when i saw starlight but it was the last uk tour so im thinking it must have been Oliver **needs to find my programme** :P

No, its how they do it in germany, he played Red caboose in 2001, and understudied this role, thats why he's allowed that to influence him strongly

michael samuels is the best singer, period. (no wonder, he's operatically schooled) At least when I saw him in Gothenburg... today, actually. :)
