ALL CSU police are STATE POLICE. They are not Rent-A-Cops. Rent-A-Cops can't give you tickets and send you to court like they did. CSU Police Officer's jurisdiction is anywhere in the State of California. Also it's protocol to check your driver's license and vehicle information so that they know they're not helping out someone in trouble (like if they have a warrant or something). Finally, it's your responsibility to know that you have valid insurance. Good luck in court.
