Still waiting for root device:

I used 10.7.2 distro with 4.1.1 Kakewalk, exactly same config except i3 2125 and SSD Corsair Force3 60GB.

At the begining everything installs perfectly, but: having "Still waiting for root device" on reboot after installing Chimera to activate HD 3000!!!

Was trying with included and latest versions of Chameleon and Chimera - no luck...

What to do?

Great video, thanks a bunch! Do you have any idea if a gtx 285 will work off the bat, or will there be some finagling I'll have to do? I plan on using kakewalk for lion, i5-2500K and compatible gigabyte mobo.

@illlillilliliil Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. Actually with Kakewalk and the GTX285 the GPU will work like a 5770 works in a Mac Pro. Even the Lion installer will load at full-res just like a Mac. It's completely compatible! Pretty awesome, huh!

Hi again, worked it out, but after repairing permissions the system crashes at boot. I think the permissions aren't being repaired as there is no log shown. Any advice?

I got one a tip:

I Found out that if you install FakeSMC with FakeSMC Plugins>Motherboard

You will get full motherboard control in iStat I can now see all temps and FAN Speed :D

You can install this with Multibeast

(The case isn't finished tough I'm waiting on some extension cables so I can connect everything from the back(Want to keep the original look so I replace the port on the pack by perfect fitting extensions cables with like usb and audio

I did it all works fine, I used your files but didn't need the audio kext it worked out of the box :)

I installed Video drivers and replaced smbios

Then installed ethernet driver

And that is all, it works perfect

I tried install Hd 3000 using the steps described in your tutorial... but when i restarted the Mac Os, it stopped in the white screen after the boot and don't continuos... Do you know how i can fix it?

Hi Guy! I have a question! I have the same processor i5 2500k but i have other motherboard. My motheboard is "ASUS P8H67-V" and it has the chip H67 too! So, I woul like if i can use the same steps to install the grafic card HD 3000 in this motheboard or it will work just in the GA-H67m-D2-B3 motherboard ????

@jonesguidini Hey! Yeah, the installation process for the HD3000 is the same as this guide. But! The Lion instalation process is different. You cannot use Kakewalk with your motherboard, the iBoot/Xmove/Multibeast method should work for you though.

@jonesguidini Then yes, you can just do it the same way I did. And you need Mac Mini not MacBook Pro.

@TheAppleReviewGuy Thanks! And this Hackintosh most def. It's every where as fast as my 2008 8-Core Mac Pro, so it would destroy a 2006. It's even cheaper haha. You could have computer that scores 10,000 on a Geekbench with the same money that a 06' Mac Pro is.
