Finally! Unlike the recent travisty "Bathory" Delpy has come closest to the actual facts of the life of the Blood Countess.  Though still not absolutely correct, as far as any film about Erzsebet Bathory Nadasdy is concerned "The Countess" is by far the best adaption I have yet seen. I still think Paloma Picasso in "Immoral Tales" comes closest in her resemblance the the historic figure of atrocity.

I always read it was a daughter that was born, not a son. And I wonder if she really loved that boy. I do not think that Elizabeth loved the way most people do, due to her mental state. Who knows. And they left out all the torturing she and her husband did together before he died. I was kind of hoping they would include that cause I think it is important to the character development. :-/ Oh well, still good acting.

@KaiserinFrederick Well she may have been, but that doesnt mean she loved the way other mothers do. It is complicated how parents are. I am sure she was a great mother, but I still question her capability of loving the way an average human being does, if that makes sense
