Almost half of the words in Tagalog and Filipino conversation are contributed from Spanish, and it has thousands in them: Kumusta, gusto, puwede, siguro, sigurado, pero, kasi, mas, etc. and the other words include: Papel, lapis, libro, eskuwelahan, eroplano, etc.

It wouldn't make any sense if you didn't use "gusto" on your sentence would it? o-o

well i know that not all words are tagalog like telebisyon or bintana and i know that in our modern time we use but there are tagalog words for some of them i know our language isn't like you know complete thats why we adapted words from the spaniards.....but you know in my opinion if theres a tagalog for it then use that....also in the ''gusto'' part you can say ''nais'' ryt?

Tagalog has most of its words in origin, while it has some words in Spanish, used mostly in conversation. However, Filipino, is the language contributed to other Philippine languages, Spanish, English, Chinese, and etc.

And I'm half Bisaya and half Tagalog, 100% Filipino, which is why I use more Bisaya words, lol.

Isn't brown "Kayunmanggi"? I mean, you need to be consistent. If you're going to use extremely "deep" words such as "Kahel" and "Bughaw", when 99.99999% of Filipinos will use the spanish "Asul" for blue, then why do you use "Cape" for brown? As you mentioned, that's just the Pinoy word for coffee!!!

"kahel" is not used, mostly tagalog use word "dalandan" and "luntian" is like field of grass or meaning it is land full of green grass , "berde" is the correct translation,"kape" is not used, mostly use word "kayumanggi"

Say "suplada" harshly, and it's like you're saying the other person is being overbearing or temperemental.

Say "suplada" sweetly, and it's like you're calling someone naughty or testy.

I've never heard of Kahel either, i heard luntian but i don't know what it is. Ang green ay berde, ang blue ay asul, ang orange ay orange. Kahit sinong Pilipino ang tatanungin mo yan ang isasagot. Pagsinabi mong kahel o luntian, the most common answer would be.. ano yon?

For green and blue; an average filipino would say "Berde= Green" and "Asul= Blue". Same as in español: Green= Verde, Blue= Azul. And orange is usually just "Orange" (but pronounced [Oh! Wrench!]) You rarley here filipinos say 'Luntian, Bughaw, Kahel at Dalandan' in a regular, everyday conversation. And honestly, I've never ever heard of "Kahel" when I was going to school in the Philippines, its usually just "Dalandan".

And even if they've learned "kahel" in school, they'd rather say Ow-reyndz.

"Berde" is Tagalog for "green." I didn't use it because it sounded Spanish.

verde is never Tagalog. It is only a Spanish loan word. Orange BTW is more understandable with Dalandan than kahel. My grade 1 textbook use dalandan. IM 27 yrs old now. (AS honest as u could get). Heheh

But I would understand why some would prefer to use dalandan, because they can easily relate it to an actual life experience.

Although in the Philippines, the dalandan fruit is usually dark green.

You're right, Rey. Lunti is the noun, while luntian is the adjective. Yes, kayumanggi is also brown, as in brown-complexioned. I wouldn't describe a brown shirt as "kayumanggi", though.
