  • beautiful female

  • Ive had a pair of clowns for 3 years and they never fought , bonded, or spawned, was it due to other species in the tank?

  • hey man great vid i will soon be getting clownfish i just need to save some more money but what iw anted to double check was do clowns have to be kept in a saltwater aquarium or can they just be kept in warm water ??? thanks

  • can they mated or breed in the regular tank, fish tank or they need to be out like u got them?

  • @brilly21 yup! you dont need anything fancy for them to breed, they will do it in ur reef!

  • Outstanding!

  • When they breed are you going to feel your babies?

  • Those are some nice clownfish

  • @MoochagraProphet thanks!

  • seriously?

so if i buy 2 clowns..

they will always form a pair..?

  • @MRI27890 yup! eventually!

  • could you breed tank bred clowns or do they need to be wild?

  • @JUNAID187 you can breed both tank bred clowns or wild

  • hey will clowfish still spawn with a birstletooth tang and tiny valenetine puffer in the tank?

  • Thanks so much dude! my clowns have just paired off and are following most of these steps. Hopefully they will mate!

  • @GeorgiyPrilutsky lets hope so! they're on the right track!

  • @timbits604 My clown fish mate every week or two weeks and they lay hundreds and hundreds AND hundreds of eggs....and i honestly don't know what to do with them... i dont want them to keep laying eggs all the time while the baby fry keep dying from getting sucked up in the filter

  • Man great video thanks a lot !!!

  • how old are they when they pair off?

  • @whiskee100 if your talking about 2 babies growing up together from day 1 then i would say maybe around 7-8 months old maybe longer

  • lol! i never knew that xD thats trippy dude xD

  • Is that picasso pair the one you brought in as "low grade picassos" a while back in your videos? Looks like a complete other fish

  • @glibed no this is a different one good observation! lol

  • wow the clownfish were i live are like $21 bucks but its gonna b hard to get the saltwater and the tank

  • Aw some! Thanks! So even if I order the Picasso Clownfish online, that are a little larger, they will still change genders and pair? I thought only small clownfish change genders? I wish my local fish store had Picasso's but they don't

  • @Arteolike a male clownfish can change into a female but once its a female it cannot change back into a male.

  • good info thanks.

  • @saliva911 you're welcome =) hope it helps. what kind of clownfish do you have?

  • @timbits604 i have a black clown and a true percula. they were fighting at first i was worried because they are different. i went on youtube and saw fights that were way worse than mine and they were the same type of clown. the black one was the aggressor now the true percula is the more dominant one.

  • @saliva911 amazing are they a pair now? that would be interesting

  • @timbits604 its only the 3rd day and their not fighting anymore. how do you know if their a pair?i have video of them if you want to see them.

  • @saliva911 nice tank! you'll know they're a pair when they don't mind each others presence and they swim together everywhere in the tank

  • @timbits604 thanks they dont mind each other anymore. but they dont swim everywhere together maybe when they go in the anemone.every time i come to comment i gotta stare at your clowns for a while.

  • @saliva911 lol!

  • you have inspired me. i am now going to purchase 2 picassos (:

  • @TMAXX95 YAY!!! they're beautiful fish aren't they? =)

  • looking forward to the next one. :~)

  • @tkdhav =)

  • Hey thats another great video tim. I look forward to your next one

  • @djdoggiedog thanks dj!

  • Awesome video! My clowns have been paired for about a year now and the female is HUGE!! I have a green BTA which the clowns are not hosting for whatever the reason. How likely are they to reproduce? Because if that happens any time soon, i'll be totally screwed becuase I don't think i'm at all prepared!

  • @GobyPoop thanks goby!! thats strange are they hosting something else in the tank? they should spawn soon!! a year together is about the right time. they are very likely to spawn for you. do you see them biting rocks? that usually means spawning is near ... don't worry i'll be glad to help you out~!

  • @timbits604 lol They bite rocks all the time, but I just thought they were looking for some other kind of food. I've also heard that sometimes a clownfish won't host an anemone in the home aquarium :( I would sneak the anemone where they sleep at night, but the problem is I'm currently running a canister filter - not a sump(I know, I know...). My clowns sleep right next to the siphon to the filter. That would be a bad thing for my anemone, I think. Thanks!

  • @GobyPoop they bite the rocks to clean them because they want to lay their eggs on it. yeah that wont be a good idea maybe try the bucket thing? place your clowns in a bucket with an anemone! im interested to see the success of that idea

  • yep I'm hooked thanks for the tips!!! Cant wait to see the babies

  • @eyesonyou2ube lol you're welcome :)

  • Very good video,,,I would love to get a pair of those picasso clowns when you get them going! Be Easy!

  • @moneymarkj thanks! for sure! you'll be first on my list :P

  • Great Video. Can't wait for the next one.

  • @adjusterfrank thanks! :)

  • Excellent video. I am looking forward to the next video... I have a pair of clowns in my 75 gal. I want to try to replicate your set up. Any advice?

  • @maxindoor thanks! do you want to breed clowns?
