God damn he really can sing well. He got really strong voice. And those growls... aah. Fucking awesome! Similar to Dev in my opinion is Mikael Åkerfeldt. Thou, he can get little bit lower with growls. Both are my favorite singers. And both are excelent musicians and song writers.

Although I'm totally cool with his choices, I wish he would at least play one or two off of SYL's discography. Never has a song captured his career as much as the song "SYL". He IS the coming of a new age, and I wish he would use that song as an encore to represent that he's bringing forth his new ideas, but at the same time, remembering the original ideas that got him to where he is today.

I saw him live yesterday night and let me tell you this man is a genius, a great musician, performer and entertainer; on top of that he well understands what having a healthy portion of sense of humor and self-irony is all about. I strongly recommend to anyone in search for quality and fresh ideas, to go and see a live gig by Mr. Devin Townsend! Simply amazing. Note that my musical background is, with few exceptions, all but Metal!!

@ShizzleFoGizzle The pc can be there for many reasons: If Dev is using digital effects with a midi pedal, you can store lots of "packs" of effects and then assign them to the pedal. so, you have groups of effects to choose from the pc. he might be using software like guitar rigs, amplitube, real-time digital tuners, etc. or maybe the pc is there as sample or midi bank for all the instruments. aaand: the female voices are for sure being loaded from the pc too.

Holly god, the sound is just like on the album!!! Devins cds sounds always make think of a perfect world, where we can find amps all over the clouds and sound comes down from the sky. I just saw him live at the Hartford Webster, seriously it was the most memorable moment of my life. I can't stop re living the concert in my head.. It was the last show, and the halloween show so he was all dressed up.. And it was seriously mind numbing. I was right up front, and he kept getting in my face, screaming, making funny faces, and I was lucky enough to meet him after the show.. He is by far the most amazing person I ever met..
