The day i first saw this vedeo i was ganna go home and cut till i cudnt feel anymore... however this vedeo stoped me... thank you so much i love you guys
That girl is beautiful!! but no matter who you are, what type of music you listen to, what you believe in, you should respect and except every single person for who they are. this song is very inspiring. nobody should be bullied ever!
@lukeiamyourfaja what was wrong. This may seem like its only shown for kids in school, but if my father had seen this, I think he have given things a second look on life. " One less mouth to feed. " That's disgusting, horrific. I feel bad for you, that you have that outlook on life, instead of wanting to help those who need it. Are you a bully as well? 'Cause you sure talk like one. Have a nice day.
@DarkSweetz im sorry about your dad, i really am i wouldnt wish that pain on my worst enemies but i stand by what i said. i think this generation is too soft and politically correct, i really feel no sympathy for someone who lets others walk all over them their whole life. and no im not a bully I just speak my mind despite how other people may recieve it.
@lukeiamyourfaja Dude, you are kind of an ass. I remember being in public school, and being bullied, standing up for myself, and for others. It all depends on where you live. I live in the worst parts of downtown Atlanta. I'm happy that they backed away from you, but here? There is no way they would. If they are bigger then you, stronger, they wont back down. It's that simple. My dad was sick, his house was being foreclosed upon. He killed himself almost a year ago now, and didn't tell any of us
I became home schooled about two years back. I just went back today to my middle school to go see my old teachers. While walking down the halls, I noticed that every foot, there was a poster against bullying, or equality. They were always there, and I remember being beaten to a pulp in front of those posters, that school was the worst. Its so nice to be with new, kind friends from my home school co-op. I'm never putting my kids through public school, that place is just too much.
being an outcast made me who i am. in school i've had teachers tell me i have no future.i'm sick of all the fuckin bull shit if their going to attack me make fun of me pick on me,talk shit about me or do any of that shit know what they always attack in big groups if they got problems with me say it to my face. personal i've had gun locked and loaded barrel in the mouth ready to pull the fuckin trigger but there's always a voice in the back of my head that say don't!
I always try to help the people one bullyed...I was one of them now im bigger and stronger and i neve allow any bullying being it verbal or physical...You should do the same
Rise against have saved my life a billion times already.. I kinda like do what tim ask's us here , to stand up for people that are being bullied. My best friend is gay and i have made her happy a billion times . She means the world to me, i don't care what her sexuality is, or mine for that matter , i'm not even sure myself what my orrientation is... all i know si that love is love <3

Man this vid made me cry. I'm not bullied cause I'm a lesbo, but I have in the past for a couple a weeks. I got lucky it didn't last longer!
But right now although I may seem very happy and like I got everything I'm not. I'm a mess inside and cause of that 3 months ago I started self harming through scratching, nevr hard enough to draw blood. But there have been times where I've picked up a knife wanting to...
yeah some people think the guys in high school have it bad, imagine a home-schooler like me i get a lot of crap for that. y'know from little names like "the loner" to big things like "that awkward kid down the street" (it may not sound that bad but trust me when i tell you it get worse after 4 years of it.). y'know not a lot of people like home-schoolers, (jealous time-wasters) just because we don't socialize that much. but thank you to my friend Jim Cheshire for discovering my talent in bass ;)

STOP BULLYING!
Thank yu so much Rise Against for showing teens and adults around the world how much we can change for the better! For already being such an inspiration and setting such an example on such a big stage...is so awe inspiring! Thank you so much!
i love these guys so much. i also love how their lyrics can apply not only to their specific subject like homophobia and many of their songs can mean so much more than they intend them to

@kevrami they were homosexual and bullied pushed to the point where they were going to commit suicide but at the last minute realized they have more to live for. its a tribute to all the homosexual teens who committed suicide last september
this post isn't a band asking for fans or a charity asking for money, although they are often worthwhile. SeePasttheStereotype is just people who have suffered and who want to change the world. One day I decided that I was sick of people being judged as stereotypes and hurting because of it, so I set this up. We just want to get our message out there, can you help us?
Click on the link on our channel, find us on facebook, help it get better.
@lukeiamyourfaja okay wait, are you serious about this? Goddamn what are you such a pathetic person. Maybe you were bullied indeed, but there are people who were bullied so extreme, you couldn't probably even imagine. and if you Could, you would write this for attention. Seriously asshole, Go find attention somewhere else, But not here. Nobody wants to a fake opinion from a fake person.
@lukeiamyourfaja you were probably not bullied to the extent that the children this is addressing. And bythewaywhen it comes to to many people on the planet there is not going to be much of a difference when most of the time the people that bully are just trying to fit in. those people usually will have sex and have a baby. they will have sex to be able to say thats right im not a virgin and make them feel cooler than others until they find out about the baby. and others just cant take the pain.
@MrQueso6191 you took this in a weird new direction, anyway bullies are punks, stand up to them and most times they'll back down. the point i was making is that being a crybaby and whining about how unfair life is won't make you stronger. you want change you have to fight for it.
I GO TO THIS SCHOOL. I have seen many people being bullied and never tried to help them and I feel like a douche after listening to this song. I have witnessed many people getting bullied and now after watching this I will stop being a bystander and help those kids just so I can make their lives better All you need to do is speak up and stand for not against those in need of help in situations like this
Good to see there are still songs with some meaning. Sick of hearing every song on the radio about a fucking break up.
There are other issues in the world that need to be seen. The power of music can change so much. Rise Against are a living example. They see the problems in the world and try to help. And I'm sure their music has supported many people and given hope to the hopeless.
Truly inspirational people. I hope they live forever.
If people ask me who my vavorite superhero is, i tell them its Rise Against. so they say why? Its not a superhero? I just shrug and tell them the bandmembers of Rise Against changed the way i look at life, they fill me with hope every day and give me the strength to go on through life even though its hard sometimes. And i know im not alone aobut this, they really have made an impact on the world.
@Leopardthorn Your right you aren't alone because they are like my heros too the first time i heard this song i cried because rise against was my favorite band and now they are just like my life lol i know it sounds lame but i listen to this song everyday and it inspired me to petition a gsa in my school, which is incredibly homophobic. this song always makes me feel so strong and like those people in my school who do bully me for being a lesbian, can just go fuck a cactus.
before I even heard Rise against I used to put an unloaded gun to my head and pull the trigger, hoping my dad forgot to unload it
after a while in middle school I finally put the bullet in my self and was finally ready to let it all end, I turned on the radio just so I would have somting to smile about before I did.
I'm straight, I'm not homophobic, but sheer heartbreak had a knife on my wrist and a ready hand, I feel like I only live to fulfill a dream of mine, otherwise i have no clue what to even do with my life.
This song as an excellent message. It is songs like this that show some humanity. But then there comes the law in Michigan that permits bullying as long as it is based on moral grounds as in homophobia is OK. Fucking republicans.
"I wanted to write a song that addresses homophobia" Yes, you did good sir. You wrote one HELLUVA song. This is what happens when four musical geniuses sit down and say, "lets write a song, but this time, let's change the way people act and think. Let's make a real difference." When Rise Against writes a song about something that they're very, very passionate about, this is what happens. You get a song like this.
music provides so much strength for so many people...it is helped me in so many ways to get through the toughest parts of my life...I am an Atheist and Vegan, as well as an activist but work with nothing but right wing conservatives, i would lose my fuckin mind if i didnt have my music to escape to
Don't bully,i was bully one year ago,now i'm not ! there was one fat retard in our school who we fucked in brain!! heheh.....DON'T BULLY! i learned my lesson ;)
I just want you guys to know that whenever I'm feeling down or have had a hard day, I walk home for school with both headphones in and sing this song as loud as I can. I think if it wasn't for this song I would be a lot more depressed then I could handle. You guys are truly an inspiration to me and I would just love to say thank you for everything you've done. I'll be there to see you guys next time you come to aussie, just like last time and I will again stand in the freezing cold to meet you.
this world will suck no matter what. I had 20 out of 30 friends on facebook who know me but posted that bullying is wrong...but...WHERE THE HELL WHERE THEY before i quit school after taking everything for 15 years without complaint or breaking. I say this again, this world will forever suck untill we have completly destroyed oursevles
it would suck being being a bystander watching someone getting bullied and the later hearing they had commited suicide becuz of it. it's like how can you live with yourself?
why are they so anti suicide? Having the weaker members of society eliminate themselves is the most effective and efficient way to ensure those with the strongest and most valuable traits live on to reproduce.
@Eaglepwnsmuka That's like saying, Oh let the homeless/poor starve to death because "having the weaker members of society eliminate themselves is the most effective and efficient way to ensure those with the strongest and most valuable traits live on to reproduce." The problem with that, Steve Jobs was homeless/poor.
Though he wasn't suicidal, the next Steve Jobs could be right now.
@Eaglepwnsmuka Holy shit. You are not kidding really? So you support suicide because your survival-for-the-fittest mentality says so. You seem to be caught in the fucking stone age really. They are "eliminating" themselves because some prick just decided to make their lives miserable. So that means those pricks and infantile idiots are the "fittest" and are meant to rule society? That was probably the coldest comment I've heard really.
@guitarcenter999 looking back on it, the comment is in rather poor taste and I should not have posted it. Despite that, I have already posted it and it cannot be undone. My point is, if you're going to allow mere words that someone says to you to affect your mind, than you are weak (mentally). And to endure physical abuse and not do anything about (inform a teacher, parent, friend, etc.) makes you a fool, meaning you deserve to take the abuse you are being given.
@Eaglepwnsmuka you should know that most kids DO tell people. There was a kid who killed himself a couple of weeks ago due to bullying. He told many people and no one did anything. That happens A LOT. Kids tell a teacher the teacher says its not their problem, they tell their parents their parents say they are over reacting. That being said, you said a HORRIBLE thing in your comment. Are you saying that because they don't tell people they deserve to get bullied? {continued...}
@Eaglepwnsmuka {continued} many kids are AFRAID to tell their families because they are afraid that they won't care. If you have ever been bullied then you would understand the mentality. They believe they are helpless, therefor they become helpless.
@AnakarayaRavenclaw that's pathetic. I can't fathom the idea of allowing someone to physically or mentally abuse me without doing something about it. I personally have never been bullied, maybe because the people who I've gone through school with are nicer than most, or more likely because I have never let anyone bully me.
@Eaglepwnsmuka Yes, which is why you won't understand. When someone is MENTALLY abusing you, I personally believe it is worse than physically abusing you. Because they make YOU think that you are worthless, pathetic, stupid or whatever they say you are. It is psychological warfare that can end with horrible consequences. Sometimes the bullies are threatening the kids (and if someone threatened you, I can imagine you would be scared) others just scare the kids so badly that they forget about.....
@Eaglepwnsmuka ..... telling someone and just try to get through the next day without feeling like suicide is the right answer. It is horrible, painful, and traumatizing. Believe me, if you have been through it, you would understand it better. But as you said, you have NOT been bullied so you wouldn't truly understand it.
@AnakarayaRavenclaw I understand it's hard for the people that are bullied. But no sane person repeatedly hurts, teases, etc. someone for no reason other than for the sake of hurting someone (both physically and emotionally) . The scenes of bullying depicted in this video are HORRIBLY exaggerated and it's really unlikely that anything like this would happen in real life. I mean, creating a ring in a hallway and throwing someone's bag? Spitting in their food? It's absurd.
@Eaglepwnsmuka I know that this is hard to believe but this actually happens. Believe me I have seen this before. No not the spitting in the food (though I have heard of that happening) but the backpack thing. And I know for a fact that what happened to the other boy (the one who was forced to kiss the girl) has happened(RARELY but still has happened) It is horrible and unbelievable but still, it actually happens to people, everyday. and THAT really horrifies me.
I disagree with some of Rise Against politics, but "Make it STOP" is right on target. If you see something, say something -- do not allow bullying to happen. Be the change, one at a time -- and at the worst you'll make a friend by standing up for another (and I bet they could use a friend).
My friends would call this (and other songs from rise aginst) snapple (my way of saying sh!t). They'd probaly rather listen to "Super bass" and "Party Rock". That pisses me off. I listen to those on the radio, but I'd rather listen to Risa Against.
When it comes to peolpe saying "Thats gay", i tend to get mad easily. Cuz of that i dont talk to certain people anymore. What people dont get is that some kids might have gays, bis, or lesbians in their faimly or is one themself. People need to know when to shut the hell up and keep their mouths closed or they might be the cause of someone talking their own lifes. I have teo gay uncles and friends that are lgb. That includes me. I almost took my life cuz of what some stupid person said.
@1BLACKVEILBRIDESFANS I agree. I get annoyed when people say "thats gay" I really want to ask them: "why do you say that? what are you trying to imply?" cause most of them just use it without truly understanding what they mean themselves. They use it for the most stupidest things. -.-
@AnakarayaRavenclaw I dunno. In today's young society, "gay" has a new, third meaning. I mean, it used to mean "happy." Now it means "homosexual." But I'd be willing to bet that those saying "that's so gay" (or something along those lines) mean it as a synonym for "lame" or "stupid," rather than homosexual. It's not like people today invented that third meaning. *Shrug.*
@BornFlunky Your right, but when everyone KNOWS that it now means "homosexual" than using it to mean "lame" or "stupid" is just a little be offensive and mean. Especially when they know that some people will take it in a bad way.
@lol5748 But... it's not. Maybe it started out like that, sure, and that's bad. But today's youth doesn't use it in that fashion. Again, just like the word "gay" shifted from meaning "happy" to "homosexual," it now has a third meaning to it, which is only being criticized 'cause of the second meaning and people's unwillingness to think practically about it.
Could people be more sensitive about it? Sure. But it can work the other way around, too. That's all.
Music that means shit is rare these days.... you have to cherish it <3 So much meaning.... I was tempted to kill my self once because of people bullying then you think..... whats the point?
so im a year out of high school. i went to school in st clair shores michigan outside out detroit. i was given shit endlessly and it upset me, to a point where i hated everybody, including myself. here's how much it doesn't matter. a year out and i have run into some of the people who made fun of me and they have apologized for it. high school is just an evil, tense place to go to. when you get out, mostly everybody forgets about what went down. it really does get better for everyone involved
@fenderkid61 I was bullied in elementary school. I know that was a looonngg time ago but for a long time it still hurt. One of the girls who bullied me is now a friend. Last year I mentioned how I was bullied back then and she was like "really?" when I told her that she was one of them she was like "holy crap! I was a bully??" then she apologized. :) It was weird but hearing her apologize made me feel like I was closing a chapter in my life. Like I could move on, and I did. :)
@JoJongOng I don't think it's that simple. It's definitely bad, but while they are in the position to end it, at least bystanders don't take the initiative of beginning to bully someone. To put it this way: bystanders aren't better than bullies, bullies are just worse than bystanders.
@JoJongOng Disagree. If I was a bystander and saw someone being bullied by a large group of people, I am not going to step in and say stop, because I then become the target as well as him. Maybe if I saw just 1 or 2 kids doing it I would step in and talk to the kid being bullied and try to be friends with him, but theres not much you can do to stop bullying with out being targeted yourself.
That's what I like Rise Against,They are singing the right thing.
Not just Sexy,Kill.

this post isn't a band asking for fans or a charity asking for money, although they are often worthwhile.

Nobody wants to a fake opinion from a fake person.
elinelouiselois 2 months ago
@elinelouiselois you kinda just proved my point.
lukeiamyourfaja 2 months ago
@lukeiamyourfaja you were probably not bullied to the extent that the children this is addressing. And bythewaywhen it comes to to many people on the planet there is not going to be much of a difference when most of the time the people that bully are just trying to fit in. those people usually will have sex and have a baby. they will have sex to be able to say thats right im not a virgin and make them feel cooler than others until they find out about the baby. and others just cant take the pain.
MrQueso6191 2 months ago
@MrQueso6191 you took this in a weird new direction, anyway bullies are punks, stand up to them and most times they'll back down. the point i was making is that being a crybaby and whining about how unfair life is won't make you stronger. you want change you have to fight for it.
lukeiamyourfaja 2 months ago

And i know im not alone aobut this, they really have made an impact on the world.

after a while in middle school I finally put the bullet in my self and was finally ready to let it all end, I turned on the radio just so I would have somting to smile about before I did.
This song came on and I stopped myself.

You get a song like this.

maskedkiller215utube 4 months ago
why are they so anti suicide? Having the weaker members of society eliminate themselves is the most effective and efficient way to ensure those with the strongest and most valuable traits live on to reproduce.
Eaglepwnsmuka 4 months ago

@Eaglepwnsmuka That's like saying, Oh let the homeless/poor starve to death because "having the weaker members of society eliminate themselves is the most effective and efficient way to ensure those with the strongest and most valuable traits live on to reproduce." The problem with that, Steve Jobs was homeless/poor.
Though he wasn't suicidal, the next Steve Jobs could be right now.
D4rkiLLLLusi0n 4 months ago
@Eaglepwnsmuka Holy shit. You are not kidding really? So you support suicide because your survival-for-the-fittest mentality says so. You seem to be caught in the fucking stone age really. They are "eliminating" themselves because some prick just decided to make their lives miserable. So that means those pricks and infantile idiots are the "fittest" and are meant to rule society? That was probably the coldest comment I've heard really.
guitarcenter999 4 months ago
@guitarcenter999 looking back on it, the comment is in rather poor taste and I should not have posted it. Despite that, I have already posted it and it cannot be undone. My point is, if you're going to allow mere words that someone says to you to affect your mind, than you are weak (mentally). And to endure physical abuse and not do anything about (inform a teacher, parent, friend, etc.) makes you a fool, meaning you deserve to take the abuse you are being given.
Eaglepwnsmuka 4 months ago
@Eaglepwnsmuka you should know that most kids DO tell people. There was a kid who killed himself a couple of weeks ago due to bullying. He told many people and no one did anything. That happens A LOT. Kids tell a teacher the teacher says its not their problem, they tell their parents their parents say they are over reacting. That being said, you said a HORRIBLE thing in your comment. Are you saying that because they don't tell people they deserve to get bullied? {continued...}
AnakarayaRavenclaw 4 months ago
@Eaglepwnsmuka {continued} many kids are AFRAID to tell their families because they are afraid that they won't care. If you have ever been bullied then you would understand the mentality. They believe they are helpless, therefor they become helpless.
AnakarayaRavenclaw 4 months ago
@AnakarayaRavenclaw that's pathetic. I can't fathom the idea of allowing someone to physically or mentally abuse me without doing something about it. I personally have never been bullied, maybe because the people who I've gone through school with are nicer than most, or more likely because I have never let anyone bully me.
Eaglepwnsmuka 4 months ago
@Eaglepwnsmuka Yes, which is why you won't understand. When someone is MENTALLY abusing you, I personally believe it is worse than physically abusing you. Because they make YOU think that you are worthless, pathetic, stupid or whatever they say you are. It is psychological warfare that can end with horrible consequences. Sometimes the bullies are threatening the kids (and if someone threatened you, I can imagine you would be scared) others just scare the kids so badly that they forget about.....
AnakarayaRavenclaw 4 months ago
@Eaglepwnsmuka ..... telling someone and just try to get through the next day without feeling like suicide is the right answer. It is horrible, painful, and traumatizing. Believe me, if you have been through it, you would understand it better. But as you said, you have NOT been bullied so you wouldn't truly understand it.
AnakarayaRavenclaw 4 months ago
@AnakarayaRavenclaw I understand it's hard for the people that are bullied. But no sane person repeatedly hurts, teases, etc. someone for no reason other than for the sake of hurting someone (both physically and emotionally) . The scenes of bullying depicted in this video are HORRIBLY exaggerated and it's really unlikely that anything like this would happen in real life. I mean, creating a ring in a hallway and throwing someone's bag? Spitting in their food? It's absurd.
Eaglepwnsmuka 4 months ago

92swggboy 5 months ago
@1BLACKVEILBRIDESFANS I agree. I get annoyed when people say "thats gay" I really want to ask them: "why do you say that? what are you trying to imply?" cause most of them just use it without truly understanding what they mean themselves. They use it for the most stupidest things. -.-
AnakarayaRavenclaw 4 months ago
@AnakarayaRavenclaw I dunno. In today's young society, "gay" has a new, third meaning. I mean, it used to mean "happy." Now it means "homosexual." But I'd be willing to bet that those saying "that's so gay" (or something along those lines) mean it as a synonym for "lame" or "stupid," rather than homosexual. It's not like people today invented that third meaning. *Shrug.*
Oi, so many quotation marks.
BornFlunky 4 months ago
@BornFlunky Your right, but when everyone KNOWS that it now means "homosexual" than using it to mean "lame" or "stupid" is just a little be offensive and mean. Especially when they know that some people will take it in a bad way.
AnakarayaRavenclaw 4 months ago
@AnakarayaRavenclaw Well, now it has a third meaning. It's separate now.
BornFlunky 4 months ago
@BornFlunky Hardly. Don't try to to justify using anti-homosexual slurs.
lol5748 4 months ago
@lol5748 But... it's not. Maybe it started out like that, sure, and that's bad. But today's youth doesn't use it in that fashion. Again, just like the word "gay" shifted from meaning "happy" to "homosexual," it now has a third meaning to it, which is only being criticized 'cause of the second meaning and people's unwillingness to think practically about it.
Could people be more sensitive about it? Sure. But it can work the other way around, too. That's all.
BornFlunky 4 months ago

so im a year out of high school. i went to school in st clair shores michigan outside out detroit. i was given shit endlessly and it upset me, to a point where i hated everybody, including myself. here's how much it doesn't matter. a year out and i have run into some of the people who made fun of me and they have apologized for it. high school is just an evil, tense place to go to. when you get out, mostly everybody forgets about what went down. it really does get better for everyone involved
fenderkid61 5 months ago
@fenderkid61 I was bullied in elementary school. I know that was a looonngg time ago but for a long time it still hurt. One of the girls who bullied me is now a friend. Last year I mentioned how I was bullied back then and she was like "really?" when I told her that she was one of them she was like "holy crap! the302forlife 4 months ago
@JoJongOng It's not always anything you can do.
NalexAkaAxo 4 months ago
@JoJongOng I don't think it's that simple. It's definitely bad, but while they are in the position to end it, at least bystanders don't take the initiative of beginning to bully someone. To put it this way: bystanders aren't better than bullies, bullies are just worse than bystanders.
yekshemesh4alig 4 months ago
@JoJongOng Agree
halokimgful 4 months ago
@JoJongOng Disagree. If I was a bystander and saw someone being bullied by a large group of people, I am not going to step in and say stop, because I then become the target as well as him. Maybe if I saw just 1 or 2 kids doing it I would step in and talk to the kid being bullied and try to be friends with him, but theres not much you can do to stop bullying with out being targeted yourself.
