@TreeKickerx3 thats not true. the swan song is a well known myth. its about how swans are supposedly mute their entire life, except right before they die, at which time they sing their own funeral songs. so "i wrote the words to the swan song" means that she was the instrument to her own demise. whatever went wrong in the relationship was her fault.

@dmg11234 there is an old myth that swans are mute their entire life, except as they die, when they sing themselves a song to die to. so if allison "wrote the words to the swan song" she was the instrument of her own demise. pawning off her treasures i think is just a metaphor for giving something up and then wishing you didnt. maybe she gave up the trust she had with her boyfriend by cheating on him, or maybe she lost her virginity to someone and then they broke up with her.
