I'm a teenager so I never knew about this ride or the Peoplemover or RocketRods so I found out about Peoplemover and was watching a video of the ride when I say this ride in the background going through Matterhorn! I had to find a video of it immediatly, thanks for posting :) I wish they had this ride still it looks awesome!
@TheBuddsO I know how you feel, it does look awesome. My mom acutally rode this, The Peoplemover and some old classics that arent there. It's sad we can't ride them, but we can always find someone whi can tell us about it.
@KawaiiStarberry They should definetly bring back this ride, and the PeopleMover. I just visited Disneyland and they still have the old track of the PeopleMover just sitting up there. We shouldn't let a track full of potential go to waste!
@TheBuddsO They should. It's sad that Disney lets some of this stuff waste away esp in WDW with some old attractions with exposed wire. But it will take time for them to fix up the track from so much damage put on it. And then cleaning out the tunnels for the People mover. And the money to open up the holes again in the Matterhorn. Disney can do it, it will take tons of time but I sadly don't see that happening again.
@KawaiiStarberry Yes, its very unlikely they will remake the rides. However I can still dream. :) They will probably end up taking the track down in a couple of years. But there is still a chance they might do something with it, but yes I agree it would take a lot of time and money.
@TheBuddsO They most likely will, unless some awesome well-know CM says something. Or they get someone like Tony Baxter to help, who's been with Disney for years. It's sad because they let it waste away and I don't think Mr. Disney would like seeing this happen.
@TheBuddsO He is a famous Imagineer. He worked as Cast Member for Disney for years. You can see him in many flims about Disneyland, in my book, he's one of the best today. I'm sure he would thought of something. Even if its just having the cars on there instead of the trach being wasted away.
@KawaiiStarberry Yes I completely agree. I just discovered that they DID actually make a new ride, called Rocket Rods, which was a fast thrill ride. But the track was not made for such high speeds, and they shut it down. So the track is probably to broken down to work now.
@TheBuddsO Yup. The track was made for a smooth, slow ride, the tracks already werent that great from just sitting there, the Rocket Rods made it worse. Maybe they could even do something with it for the fireworks even.
The reason they took the Disney World Skyway in Florida was for safety reason this lady (one of the cast Members) told me told me when i ask her was that people use to throw thiungs down from it Lame i know!
So sad...skyrides everywhere are disappearing. When I went back to Cedar Point the last time they had taken half the ride down...you used to be able to take two skyrides all the way to the back of the park and then ride all the rides back to the front...great way to plan out the day. But it only went halfway when I was there last, and I heard they've taken it down completely. Same with Kings Island. If they take the one down at the Ohio State Fair, I really will lose faith in humanity. :(
I use to ride this while I was at Disney Land. The part going through the Matterhorn Bobsleds mountain was very cool. Sorry to see they took out this fun attraction.
Man, Pressler and Harris really did the parks a disservice. Then again, they thought people came to Disneyland to go shopping instead of to ride the rides. Honestly...
@arthurkitchen Disneyland was very cheap in the 1990's and they didn't want to spend the money to make it compliant with newer safety regulations. So blame the government and Disney's cheapness.
@arthurkitchen Well, there was a dad who was with his kids on the skyway. The dad was leaning on the door and the door opened and he fell down. he landed next to the carousel. He died on impact and the park shut down for 3 weeks. the blood stains are still there if you look closley...
@ThePopcorn12 Nope. There was the man who jumped from his gandola onto a tree, and Disney World's janitor who was cleaning an employee only station, he was violating some health and safety regulations, and fell 40 feet to his death a a bed of flowers. And I highly doubt if there was one Disney would have remove any blood stained bricks.
@H4CK3R117 The man that jumped actually didn't die, but yes the janitor did. But the story about the dad is completely false. I'm sure there were other reasons as to why they took down the ride.
i miss this!

@KawaiiStarberry I've never heard of Tony Baxter, how is he involved with the Disney? Yes Walt Disney would have made that old track magical by now.

All they have now is a shitty slow and crowded train. They need more mobility in Disneyland.
