  • Back in 1999 I saw them live. Taproot + Incubus + Deftones = Best Concert Ever

  • Hey mattl883

    Stfu

  • my favorite by them

  • @DanDy6698 unfortunately, their ONLY good album. Strange that it's a masterpiece and then everything else sucks

  • this album got me through collage.........that one year

  • Seriously, how did i Forget about this song???? this is the greatest songever writtten.

  • Can you please upload all of the songs from this album?? Thanks in advance.

  • Their music is very honest and genuine, nothing artificial.

  • i remember buying this cd back in 2000 and not hearing one song by this band before i bought the cd i have no clue what led me to buy this cd but i would pop it in when i was not in the mood for some of my heavier stuff

  • one of the best concerts ever!!!!! and Ive been to many diff ones!!! Love Taproot!!!

  • This sounds like a Korn song for sure.

  • @WynselG YEA GHETTO/GANGSTA KORN, KORN IS RAP, GHETTO/GANGSTA RAP, TAPROOT IS GHETTO/GANGSTA RAP, THEIR SONGS ARE ALL GHETTO....THIS IS RAP, HE RAPS EVEN THOUGH THI SIS MORE R AND B IF ANYTHING, THERE IS NOTHING METAL ABOUT THIS OR ANY OTHER "NU METAL SONG", THEY ARE ALL RAP SONGS, GHETTO/GANSTA RAP EVEN IF THERE IS NOT A LOT OF RAPPING, I WOULDN'T EVEN CALL THIS ROCK, YES IT HAS GUITARS BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT MAKES IT ROCK, THE BEAT AND VOCALS, AND THE BEAT AND VOCALS OF THIS ALBUM ARE RAP.

  • @MattL883 sorry buddy but this isn't anything close to rap. Neither is Korn. Korn is nu metal. You obviously need to get your genres straight.

  • @MattL883 This is more like Alternative rock far from rap homie. if u compare this to ice cube or bone ....you'll see a huge difference.

  • @MattL883 Thank god your dumb ass isn't the final word on the issue.

  • Friendships... turn to LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEES!

  • TAPROOT'S FIRST 2 CD'S WERE BASICALLY GHETTO/GANGSTA RAP, THERE WAS TONS OF RAPPING, MAKING IT RAP. YOU SEE THERE IS EITHER RAP, OR THERE IS METAL, NO COMBINATION OF THE BOTH, BUT YOU SEE EVERYTHING IS RAP BASED...EVEN DATING BACK TO EVLIS/BEACH BOYS DAYS, THOSE WERE ALL PRECURSORS TO RAP. EVERYTHING IS RAP THESE DAYS, EVERY SINGLE BAND YOU CAN CLASSIFY AS RAP.

  • @MattL883 Cool story, bro.

  • @MattL883 HOWEVER THIS IS MORE R AND B, THERE IS A LOT OF SINGING, STILL HIP HOP BEAT SO IT STILL FITS IN THE GHETTO/GANGSTA CATEGORY.

  • @MattL883 I FEEL THAT IT IS BASICALLY RAP THOUGH.

  • @MattL883

i normally don't post stuff on youtube, but i'm a musician and i have to say that you have no idea what you're talking about. gangsta rap is stuff like tupac and notorious b.i.g ;rap is stuff like cypress hill; hip hop is stuff like naughty by nature, metal is stuff like in flames.

sorry dude but you're wrong, because apparently in your mind you think tupac sounds like taproot.

  • @MattL883 dude you are fucking retarded as fuck

  • @MattL883 are you smoking some good weed or what? this is def not RAP just because there's a few rhymes in the lyrics doesnt mean shit and rappers dont SPREADDDDDDDD THEREEEEEEE VOICEEEESSSS AND SINGGGGGGGG OVEERRRRR TRACKKKSSSSSSSSSS.

  • @Darrinrice22 well there is a few small few rappers who do to be specific thst guy drake can sing and rap

  • @shadowrecruit Thats very true, but thats singing in an R&B sense I believe, Taproot has a few rhymes and they flow through some parts but thats not rap lmao now Limp Bizkit is rap metal or hollywood undead, hed PE, fort minor stuff like that.

  • @MattL883 u gotta be kidding me right?

  • @MattL883 Can I have some of that weed your smoking?

  • @MattL883 Really? I mean, you're right, their first two albums were heavily influenced by hiphop and rap, but to say there's no combination of rap and metal as absolutely ridiculous, and saying that EVERYTHING is rap based makes me laugh so hard I can barely breathe. Do me a favor, and TRY to link Red, System of a Down, and Drowning Pool to rap. After attempting that, go a step further go try Living Sacrifice, The Showdown, and Arch Enemy. If you pull off ONE band I'll give you a cookie.

  • @Kringe7 EASILY MAN, EASILY...SYSTEM OF A DOWN RAPPED ON TONS OF SONGS, INCLUDING SUGAR, WHICH WAS BASICALLY IN THE RAP GENRE, THEY ALL HAVE DRUMS, DRUMS IS A RAP BEAT, ANY MUSIC WITH BEAT IS RAP, THAT IS NOT AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

  • @MattL883 Overstatement...

  • @MattL883 System of a Down rapped on one song. I know some rap bands who explored the rock genre, even enough that they scream. Does that make them metalcore? One song does not make the genre of a band.

The drum is not a rap beat. Rap is brand new compared to the drum, considering ancient civilizations used drums thousands of years ago. All music has some form of beat, or rhythm. That's what seperates singing, rapping, and screaming from talking and yelling. Your reasoning is flawed

  • @eviljon51 their newest one is good as well. they kinda brought back the older sound.

  • saddest part is the timing, if they had not been in that whole rap metal alt dickies wearing wallet chain trite fuckall that was the turn of the century...more would of been of this. Unfortunately the influence of korn, limp dick suck, and the others cheapened a whole generation of musical endeavour, and basically whored a large portion of music into a sound alike column ala interscope durst era.

years passed and the internet took hold, thankfully, you got dredg, mars volta, etc etc.

  • Hoobastank, Taproot and Linkin Park. 3 examples of bands who've had insane hits in their first albums and suddenly....were replaced by the need to play less hard hitting songs. sad, really.

  • hey man can you play now by taproot please.

  • This song is so amazing, I love all of Taproot's music, though Gift is definitely my favorite.

  • this entire album was sic, they really outdid themselves during the small age of rap-metal.

  • @eviljon51 welcome is pretty awesome too... the rest are not XD

  • @hatelion their newest one is good as well. they kinda brought back the older sound.

  • I rather enjoy this tune. It has a plethora of pleasantness..

  • there are hardly any taproot songs uploaded apart from this, makes me sad cause they're a great band with a really genuine musical style :/

  • this was def their best CD!!!

  • @walterbeall1 Agreed, Gift was a great album, not sure what happened after that.

  • @DanDy6698 yep they going backwards in my opinion after this album

  • taproot is foking awesome

  • The drums on this song rulz!

  • Love this album. Every song.

  • Staind and incubus in one. more the latter i reckon. especially this song.

  • What happened to these guys? They should have stuck to this style.

If Gift would have been released today, it would still be a hit.

    Gift & Welcome very good,

  • Pre Disturbed.

  • reminds me of Staind.

  • Yo post up the rest of the album

  • my first cd ever was this album. it has been engraved into my cerebellum, and i love it. hope i new one is on the way.

  • These guys are so talented. Period

  • Everyone's so right in these comments. Gift is by far their best album...it's been soooo long since I've heard these guys and they're still great.

  • this sonq is the shiet * !

  • emotional times.....i'm just....FA-AH-AH-AH-AH-AH-AH-AH-AH-AHAH-INE haha funny part ;)

  • all of you have no idea what your talking about- just shutup and listen, will ya?

  • @JackieOh84 yes

  • I ended up going and it was Awesome !!! They Opened up with smile !!!! Man what a great time.

  • yeah you do have a point there suggah. very well put my friend.

  • morons, why would you want a band to keep making music that sounds the same album after album?? it's called evolving and trying something different.

  • The same in context. On your point of evolution. Evolution takes time. Now this is just me speaking but, I fugure musical evolution shouldn't be changing up from CD to CD. these guys havne't been around that long. Look at Beastie Boyss for instance. THATS evolution. they been around forevers and a day. They kept their core style, but transcended it. With evolution - it's supposed to be for the better. No reason to evolve if it isn't an improvement. But yeah change is good - sometimes.

  • Hell yeah, taproot, thanks ghettohomiee and that dude is gay.

  • I wish I could hear their first 3 self released albums, only their first 2 major albums are that good. The last two have a different sound and it doesn't sound like the same band. What happened to the old Taproot from this album?

  • their all dead

  • i checked out droid.. pretty straight forward stuff imo..dont get me wrong; i like a lot of bands going from disturbed to cannibal corpse to godjira... Im actually looking for the heavier albums of taproot.. I guess its the one called gift.. as the other ones are not that powerfull.. am i right? Cause u said what happened after this cd..

    thx for reply..

  • Taproot is badass.

  • man what happened after this CD? I got the one after this, but it just doesn't feel the same. I can rock GIFT all the way through. very few CD's I can do that to.

  • I dont know taproot but i do like this song and that kind of music.. there are some songs on u tube that are not this strong; more melodic and all.. could u please recommend an album.. again i like the heavier tunes.. im sure u know what i mean.. thx btw what is the one before gift.

  • I believe GIFT was their first album. Don't quote me on that - lol. Um as far as heavier? I dunno know how heavy you wanna go. Try to find some DROID. I have one of their CD's. Does me pretty good. Can't remember which one ~ hit me back laters ~

  • They have some albums before Gift, but those are self produced,so they don't count them as albums themselves.

They are called "Something More Than Nothing", "Mentobe" and "Upon Us". Since they were self-produced, it kinda sounds like they are playing in their garage, but in a good way.

  • Oh koo! Thanx - didn't realize they had that many under their belt.

  • You should give them a try :)

  • I'm debating on going to see them at the CubbyBear tonight in Chicago in fear that I won hear anything off of gift. Your statement of beingable to listen to gift straight through is so so true.

  • Ah man - lucky you for being able to debate going to see them! I would hope they would play something from GIFT - hell that was their best album IMO.

  • taproot rocks dude

  • your gay

  • @GhettoHomiee not as much as you jokes

  • i has a bucket
