Don't you think that pain and experiences make us stronger, and make us appreciate what we have when it is forever, and that avoiding this pain is just cowardly so that when we do find our spouse we are naive and this could have greater repurcussions. Additionally love songs and romance novels are the fruit of this connection that we are able to make with other human beings, and they are beautiful and create a world of art and culture.
Very interesting views! I didn't know much about Jewish laws and I am delightfully surprised at how similar the rules of modesty are to my own religion (Islam). Also in Islam a man is not allowed to shake the hand or otherwise touch a woman who is not his wife or who is not related to him. I think that we could all grow closer if we took the time to learn about our similarities and build from there.
Ronen, you were special, and will forever be to me and to all of youtube that love your videos. I hope you will enjoy the best of Gan Eden ba'Olam Haba.
Chances are that he won't. He uploaded original content, and his username isn't under high demand. Best thing you can do is keep viewing his vids. They probably won't be deleted if someone is still watching them.
Yes, unfortunately Ronen did die from an accident around April 26, 09 - I'm not sure of the exact date. Leaves behind two small daughters, ages 5 and 6 at that time.
Listen to the rabbi, he is a man of the world, like me. We can enjoy things in life without all this bad karma. It takes many of us time to mature and grow up. I respect a true life rabbi above ones I met when I was a boy, who had no context of being a good person in a modern society.
what do you mean by observing on different levels? whether you are strict sometimes and not others with keeping them or shake hands and hug but do not kiss or premarital physical relationship?
So, what does a guy do when he's divorced or separated from his spouse and wants to get back together with that person or simply doesn't want to go through the problems of finding another spouse? One has needs, right? Is one suppose to wait around for an involuntary orgasm, go to the mikveh and read Tikkun HaKlali? Vasocongestion is no picnic! Who needs that? Isn't there something else a guy can do?
The body isn't evil. Judaism doesn't teach that! That's Xianity, Gnosticism and pessimistic Platonisms. Judaism merely teaches self-restraint and discipline. Hasidism is not aesteticism! The fruits of this world are to be enjoyed, but in moderation. Look at the average American. Overwieght, dumbed down and poisoned, because they can't control themselves. Greed and excess is taking its toll upon their body and soul. Let's save the Atheist diatribe for the Xians, okay? Peace!
There isn't one place in the Torah that says the human body is evil. It seems rather clear that humans are capable of performing evil acts - but this is in no way related to the human body. We also have the potential to be transcendent, sublime beings.
And although I do strive - I wouldn't really say I'm holy. Tzadikim are holy. I'm just trying my best, one day at a time.
In Judaism the Evil Imagination within us IS NOT evil in & of itself. Without it we wouldn't conduct business, build a home, marry or have kids. The Evil Inclination is our sex drive & our survival instinct. These are GOOD & necessary parts of the human psyche & body. They only become evil when they lean toward absolute SELFISHNESS that infringes upon the rights & needs of others. It's in our individual & collective best interest to be discplined creatures, lest our Evil Inclination run amok.
Well said! I love your videos! :)

This is a question I have been asking myself for over 3 years, friend.
But the gemmara does state that one should look for his spouse as if he's looking for precious treasure. So perhaps I'm just not looking hard enough.
The Torah desires that men and women get married so they don't have this issue.

You aren't married? For some reason, I thought you were.

Wow a holy man who follows a book that tells him that his body is evil.
This is unheard of!

I believe he is saying the opposite... that your body is holy and sacred. A temple to be honored.
