I just started doing this as well. I can't follow the planes with my telescope, but it's really nice.

I'm pretty sure that with your Meade, you could probably see who's inside those planes but then you'll have te be able to follow them very good.

Hi krisDM3000, yes its very hard to do! i can only do it with my ETX-70 when i use the bigger scopes the planes are so fast!

the first jet in your video appears to be a boeing 747, but maybe not because if those are twin contrails it may really be a Boeing 777.

these meade scopes normally are computer-operated. can you switch off the goto and manually track as well ?

Yes you can switch off the goto (with all the ETX series) so your scope is loose in your hand

yes, but i cannot make movies, dont hve a camera so far. what kinda magnification can you get out of this ETX 70 ? they sell this scope at a german discounter every year or so, but i got binoculars instead this year 20x80.

ok so 40 and good oculars, thats already a decent beginer scope. i now wanna get a dobson 8´´as my first real scope.

i want something 8´´to see deep sky stuff

for reasl i thought most of them were 757's i saw a 747 too and i thought i saw a 767 the 737's have winglets and smaller engines than the 757
