Oh, maybe it was AE kiting they nerfed. I'm not sure, I just came back about a week or two ago and people told me you can't dot mobs unless they;re standing still.
@kitkat12326 Nah, I don't think that's the case. There is a rule where moving mobs take 33% less damage (unless feared)...but DoTs definitely still do damage to moving targets.
man this brings back memories... Back in 2004 I started a lil bard and I was lvl 27 and hit 30 in one kite, level 33 on the very next kite. Admittedly this was 30min per run and I had jboots on so I could get 3 dots running. Lvl 39-45 was slower as they nerfed the range a little bit =(

@Demetrium keeping another players items during a transfer. I was roleplaying, set to playerkill mode, and only had 1 item equipped, figured it would be common sense to not ask me to do a transfer, but somebody did.
@hogie48 Using instruments doesn't effect the range, just the effectiveness (in my case, double damage). All instruments have a modifier which you can check out on sites like Lucy. Chords of Dissonance (the level 2 DoT) has a smaller range than Denon's Disruptive Discord (the level 18 DoT). To make it easier on yourself, just keep a horn in your hands and cycle between Denon's and Selo's.
@Demetrium Ahh ok im only using the level 2 DoT right now so maybe thats why its a little more challenging. Do you have your auto run set with a strafe in it? If so, how do you do that... ive done it by mistake before but can't figure out how i did it lol
Yeah, AoE DoTs dmg portion only affects mobs that arent moving...

Bard AE kiting was nerfed on Live back in PoP if I remember. He's playing on a emulated server Project 1999 which is only up to Kunark.

Do you get better range on the dot with horn? Ive tried to kite like this so many times and it seems i have to be waaaaay closer for it to hit them.

@hogie48 Yeah, I do. Easiest way is to:
1. Hold up
2. Continue holding up and hold the right mouse
3. Continue holding up and and right mouse, add in right
4. Continue holding those, hit enter
5. Let go of everything
6. Hit enter again
