At about 1:30 "some people say organization just makes you into another religion". That is the very serious risk of organizing; but the argument against that is the scientific community. The scientific community clearly is NOT an organized religion. The foundation of the scientific community is the scientific method not an ideology. All of the examples of organized groups that were mentioned were ideologies. We have ideologies running the US and NOT the scientific method measuring our course.
What a bunch of idiots. What an insult to our founding fathers who were almost all believers in God. "America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within"Josef Stalin THey are falling right into a program that was set for them by Communists materialists over fifty years ago. Pathetic and dangerous to individual freedom and personal rights.
I wish I could go but I'm stuck in Japan. I thought the video could have been better. He should have planned his words better and the camera work should have been more professional. He seemed a bit redundant. However, I'm still giving this a thumbs up, because I believe I'm the movement.
@DirtyMikeballin95 Yes lets highlight our differences by advertising religous symbolism in a memorial dedicated to a tragedy caused by religous terrorists. It does appear to be frivolous so why do it? whats the point in designing a piece of scrap metal into a religous symbol as a memorial? why exclude the jews, the muslims, the atheists, the buhdist, the new agers that all died as well ....they seem frivolous but they are just unnessacarly divisive, why not wear your cross on your neck?
Please make a Facebook page about the reason rally. Do not under estimate the power of that social network to get this movement the attention it needs!!
Please Please make a Facebook page for Reason Rally!!!!
@DirtyMikeballin95 I think the lawsuit over the scrap metal cross is justified, legally, but is also a deliberate middle finger in the face of Christian America, just as the cross is a middle finger in the face of non-Christian America, and the proposed "9/11 mosque" is to non-Muslim America. Oh, First Amendment, you rebel-rouser, you. If we wish to symbolize unity and solidarity, the answer is not to add all the symbols that separate us, but to omit them entirely.
Amazing! I think it is time for all of us to show our true strength, rather than just hide who we are. We are everyday people who don't believe in nonsensical claims. We believe all beliefs should have justifications that are based on reason and evidence. We believe life is a gift, not from god, but due to something that which still don't fully comprehend. We don't lie to ourselves, our kids and our community. We are dignified knowing what we know, we don't pretend to know things we don't know.
Silverman needs to stop throwing around that "12-15%" figure. About 16% percent of Americans don't identify with any particular religion, but they aren't necessarily nonbelievers.
Forty to fifty million atheists in this country? I wish!
Churches ensure their followers are part of the social order using fear of hell and loss of fellowship.
Atheists don’t need any of that! This is why atheists are not organized - we simply don't need to join together and chant, sing praise to a dictator, or have our doubting thoughts calmed.
However, we DO need to organized so that we can express our opinions and ensure that we are not discriminated against and marginalized. Thank you to American Atheist! How do I join? – I am not in America.

With comedy? There's such a thing as atheist comedy? I usually found atheist comedy (Theist comedy too) to be absolutely awful.

You absolutely have to get up on stage and start chanting:
"The tides come in, the tides go out..."
And have the audience respond:
"Never a miscommunication!"
Then wait for Bill's head to explode on the air :D
