  • He deserves it

  • kudos! i hope my son will be able to do this one day (he's on the ASD spectrum)!

  • Amazing shit

  • Bless you Plugin' for your having featured this "Miracle vid' with Jason!" And i for 1 hope it plays and re-plays FOREVER! Grazie ;-) again, Plugin ID!!!! - o2x to you, Jason, the coach, other players and fans and everyone here from, _ davvi

  • One question, why wasn't he playing before. Perfect shots.

  • @grayhuze you didnt see the rest of his game

  • i thought i was a man till i saw this video ...

  • what a 'baller...literally

  • I saw this on Reddit...and, nothing personal against Jason, good for him, but for the love of -- PLEASE STOP REVIVING THIS. I'm FROM Rochester and this was a good story YEARS AGO when it happened, but then, just like a thousand other stories, it was OVERSATURATED. PLEASE just LET THIS DIE.

  • @acer3573 What is your problem? who do you think is "reviving" this clip? Internet/reddit is a democracy -- if lots of people like this clip and find this truly inspirational and a learning moment for all of us, then this will organically keep popping up.

  • That's fucking amazing.

  • im such a pussy... :*)

  • I love this. Every time I watch it, it fills my heart with gladness. This is an old video, but I love it all the same. :) Every child should be given a chance to do something great. Amazing kid. :)

  • did they win?

  • Asperger's (AKA, mild autism spectrum disorder) is sometimes called the Geek Syndrome because it is associated with poor coordination and lack of athletic ability in general. But it is also is sometimes associated with unexplained extraordinary abilities. Too bad they can't all have at least one savant ability that would bring them this much positive attention.

  • Clearly someone is cutting onions, confess! Or i shall put you in the comfy chair!

  • I was looking for the WARM and FUZZY reaction.....lol

  • who started cutting onions?

  • hope in humanity: +1

  • @philgoodalways

Im afraid that's got nothing to do with humanity.

It's like always when you suddenly see someone has talent he gets more popular, especially when it's a popular sport. If this guy wasnt authistic, maybe nobody would have cared and you wouldnt read onioncutter comments here.

  • @CloneWarrior001

I worked with authistic kids for years, they go through an unreal amount of bullying. In history, those different in that nature, we're killed, exiled, abused, ect. Hope in humanity: +1, small steps, but in the passed he wouldn't have even been aloud to go to school.

  • was this filmed on a fucking ham sandwich?

  • Thank you basedgod!

  • Ok.. I cried a little.

  • Good for him. I hope he got to play in more games after that.

  • that kind of attention from a highschool must be like a shot of cocaine to the heart

  • teardrop n joy

  • Seems to me like he should have been playing in every game.

  • maybe they should have let him play like a regular kid years ago?

  • 18 points in 4 minutes? boss.

  • this is a awesome story my brother also has learning disabilities and he is the manager of the basketball team too, so i can relate to this a lot. Also the team is back to back conference champions and are hoping to get back to back to back this year and my brother still is only a junior so maybe they will get back to back to back to back...that would be good because he says he wants to be a sports team manager when he grows up :)

  • DEEF

  • Boondocks did it

  • WOW! 20 points in 4min, almost like 5 Three pointers in that short time. Thats actually kinda amazing, I'd be amazed at any basketball game to witness a comeback like that.

(Its like a real life boondocks episode)

  • SO DID THEY WIN!?!?!?! thats all i care about

  • and for 2 minutes 55, my life was good

  • @rakwar If the video gets pulled your comment will be gone too, then how would you get your sense of false superiority?

  • "i just caught fire..i was hot as a pistol" hahahah! yes!

  • dam youtube and it's blurry oniony text

  • Who keeps chopping all these onions in here?

  • damn!

  • Autism has some amazing characteristics in that, when they get something right, it clicks and they will always be able to do it the same way. His first shots missed, but as soon as he made the first one and understood what he did right, he could have gone like that all day. Amazing.

  • Who dislikes this video? Honestly?

  • how did no one notice this before??? who scores 20points in 4minutes!!!! thats amazing!!!!

he might be autisic but to be honest i would more expect to hear 6 3pointers in four minutes about someone getting scouted for college.

    fair play.

  • That's an awesome kid!

  • "Because he is altistic, Jason says he's used to feeling different. But never this different."

    #CHILLS

  • @gregorycarnielutube right on! i felt the same way at exactly that same moment.

  • @gregorycarnielutube I felt the same way.

  • GET THAT MAN A SEXY SEXY WOMAN!!

  • I got the chills every time the crowd went crazy for him. Thanks for sharing this.

  • fuckin allergies...

  • @oazeje12358 i hope you find inspiration in this video! you can achieve ANYTHING you want!

  • the other team is probably thinking wtf.. we suck soo bad... they are beating us bad, and they put in the retarded kid, and we still can't stop them... lol

  • @adbarads rethink your use of the word retard, the kid was not 'retarded' at all when it comes to basketball. You shouldn't judge people on their looks but by their actions.

  • ok, whos cutting onions

  • I sense Hollywood will make this into a movie

  • What heartless bastards disliked this?

  • @Jaffl3 The other team?

  • It's just a guy who played basketball. It happens every day. That he's autistic shouldn't matter.

  • @RicklesGibson This.

  • ahh that was cool

  • I definitely got teary eyed.

  • I got fucking chills every time he made one of those baskets.

  • Wish I could like this video more than once.

  • It's crap that he wasn't given a chance to begin with. The kid can obviously shoot. High school sports do an poor job uncovering and fostering talent that wasn't obvious since a young age. How many kids do you know that are talented but weren't given a shot because of some reason or another?

This is an extreme example, and a heartwarming story, but all I see is a coach who was happy to let a talented player hand out water for years before giving him a chance to shine in a meaningless game.

  • isnt this clip like 4 years old or something like that?

  • @soguuud it was the reporter's change of tone at the end that got me :')

  • Hot as a pistol.

  • so this is where the boondocks episode comes from

  • That coach needs a Ferrari.

  • hahaha "because he is autistic..."

  • WHY WONT THIS SMILE GO AWAY

  • ITS THE WATERBOY, but for basketball

  • ...so they never noticed that he was a good shot all those years?

  • @Embrigh lolol ikr 6 3 pointers in a row?

  • Rain Man making in RAIN 3 Pointers!!!

  • What a dude

  • very inspirational

  • FUCK ONIONS :<

  • I am happy for the kid but at the same time who was playing defense?

  • awwwwww YEAAAAAAAHHHHH

  • oh man, the commentary is so cheesy :P

  • Comment removed

  • That coach must have been kicking himself for waiting this long to have the kid play. "been the team manager for 2 years." That looks like 2 lost State Championships to me.

  • @otiswrath85 I know right? Something in his brain seems to be perfect for shooting baskets.

  • What pixel is the kid?

  • @neoncon70 wow, you may be the biggest asswhole ever do you have nothing better to do in your life other than post meaningless racist comments on videos !? you make me sick dipshit.

  • If I had a dollar for every pixel in that video, I'd have 3 dollars.

  • This guy that made this comment above (The Schimmi) YOUR AN IDIOT!!!! It is nice that our national news can report on something so encouraging, instead of all the negative that goes on in our world from A-holes like you!!!!!!

  • @DiedraKay I love when people say "YOUR AN IDIOT" Just their failure in grammar is ironic enough to make their claim laughable, no matter who they're talking about

  • That other team must have sucked bad =)

  • Holy crap, 6 3 pointers, who cares if he's autistic

he's a hero just for 20 points in 4 minutes.

  • well no one wanted to block him and make him feel bad sooooo yea.....

  • So, "Waterboy", but with basketball?

  • After two years of fetching water and cheering on the sidelines like the inferior half-wit we thought he was, we accidentally let him play for four whole minutes and realized we're all idiots.

  • Comment removed

  • My god! Only in fucking America. He's only autistic, not fucking crippled.

  • this is showing that a) they chose not to put the autistic kid on the field... and b) the fact that he played once, and that allows the long time that they were prejudice against him?...

  • Thanks for putting me in during the last quarter of the last game coach you fucking jerk.

  • god damn onions, amazing video

  • Ok who is cutting the onions!

  • I can't handle all this inspiration. I'm gonna watch a judge beat his daughter with a belt now.

  • @MageReactor Go get the belt... The BIG ONE!

  • @soguuud same here man !!, brings tears to my eyes in a good way not bad, tears of joy !

  • FUCK YES POTYAYEY

  • >implying this kid isn't the GOAT

    ISHYGDDT

    costanza.jpg

  • durrrrr

  • i hope he got laid that night

  • @magicfunghi I hope he got laid the next few nights as well

  • @magicfunghi You know full well he went in to hit 6 more holes later that night.

  • I can't seem to find these onions hidden in my desk!

  • why wasn't he playing all season?

  • Waterboy!

  • Hot as a Pistol....what a boss ^_^ warms my heart bro

  • Reminds of a young Leonardo Dicaprio, a mix between him in basketball diaries and gilbert grape.

  • Damn. Plays better than LeBron by a long shot!

  • Damn onions.

  • RL waterboy.

  • :')

  • Thank you for posting this. It brought a tear to my eye and a bit of light to what's going to be an awful day.

  • My grandson one time didn't fuck the dog. I felt like the crowd did that day.

  • It's just like that episodes of Boondocks!

  • @qqddeeeeeeeeee lmfao

  • hot as a pistol I tell you

  • lol waterboy

  • Who's cutting onions?!

What determination and passion can do.

  • Did he say "I was hot as a pussy"?

  • Damn got to me not many vids can.

  • i just caught fire i was as hot as a pistol lol

  • awesome video!

  • wheres the D? smh..

  • No one played any D on that Aut!!

  • Sometimes I don't think autism is a disease but humans evolving into some new type of super human. Homo Intellectus.

  • did they win the game?

  • Goosebumps to the maximum!!!!!!!! WOW!

  • There is a god.

  • @LUCKYxXxSH0T too bad there isnt lol. umad kid?

  • @LUCKYxXxSH0T

    nah god isn't real

  • @LUCKYxXxSH0T No there isn't. There is this autistic kid who played a really good game of basketball for the first time though. Maybe give him the credit and not a mythical creature. Don't take away this kids legacy like that

  • @milamberMR Are you always this much of an asshole? It's a common expression.

  • @JerkOnTheInternet Sorry, I like to give credit where credit is due. If that makes me an asshole, then yes, I am.

  • @milamberMR umm im pretty sure a real christian would have phrased it quite differently.. i don't think luckyshot was insinuating that jehovah swooped in and lined up those shots for him..

  • @secularwin And I wasn't replying to that insinuation....

  • @milamberMR

    Chill.

  • @LUCKYxXxSH0T lol @ all the pissed-off YouTubers giving you crap. I, for one, support your comment.

  • @LUCKYxXxSH0T if there was a god, then he'd be an asshole. he gave that kid that horrible disability, and that kid works hard HIMSELF to own at the game. dont give credit to god, give it to the kid.

  • @LUCKYxXxSH0T Chill? I am....it took me all of 10 seconds to write that reply...then I read a book and went to sleep. It was a great night for me. Completely chill. See I actually like pointing out things like this, so I'm good. Thanks for your concern though I guess

  • yes

  • Rudy

  • Real life Jimmy Chitwood...

  • WAAAAH!!!!

  • why isn't this kid on the starting line up if he scored 20 points in 4 minutes?

  • why am i cutting onions while watching youtube? *sniff

  • I teared up, i admit it.

  • This is retarded. OMG AN AUTISTIC KID DID SOMETHING!!!! Yeah, he's a normal fucking person. Stop treating kids like this like they're handicapped. Most of them aren't, they just think different. They say that he's loved basketball his whole life, and then people are surprised when he's good at it. No fucking shit he probably practices a shitload. They never mention why he didn't play on the team. Probably because they think he's inferior. He could have played a whole season like this.

  • @TheSchimmi it's probably health related. dick. I'm guessing that a doctor "recommended" that he stay out in case he hurt himself or something like that. I have no idea. But neither do you so stop making assumptions with no backing

  • @TheSchimmi Yeah yeah bro, whatever. While I can certainly see why you'd be slightly cynical given the patronizing tones that often hang over autistic people, even removing the autistic element, this is a spine-tinglingly cool little segment. A senior waterboy/sweat-wiper scores 20 points in the last 4 minutes on Senior Night after he's never suited up? Autism doesn't even need to be included there for it to be noteworthy, brah.

  • @TheSchimmi Sometimes it's good to celebrate good moments in someones life. This story would still be amazing if he wasn't autistic, If he was just the kid who helped out, Hitting 7 three point goals in the only game you play all season is pretty good, most people wouldn't even hit one. I don't doubt he's had plenty of practice but most people choke if they aren't used to playing. He probably never tried out, but he still loved it so he wanted to help out.

  • @TheSchimmi Or, more likely, the opposing team were giving him easy shots because this game probably didn't matter at all and they wanted to see 'the special kid happy' or whatever.

  • @TheSchimmi

Who pissed in your oatmeal? I have a younger sister with autism, and stories like this (believe it or not), are not for you to make (completely baseless) accusations as to some potentially malicious, previously assumed opinion about this kid.

    It's a wonderful story. Period.

  • @TheSchimmi agreed.

  • @TheSchimmi He scored 20 points in 4 minutes. It's not "OMG AN AUTISTIC KID DID SOMETHING!!!!", it's more like "Holy shit, a kid scored more points in 4 minutes than half of professional players could do in an entire game." It doesn't matter how much he practiced, I've never heard someone do so much...

  • @TheSchimmi The nice part about this video isn't that an autistic kid could manage such a thing. It's nice that an autistic kid who has probably been made to feel inferior just got recognized by whole school for being a great player, and being raised to pretty much hero status.

This may have very well been the best day of this kids life. That's what I like about this video.

  • @TheSchimmi You undermined your own argument by using the word 'retarded' to refer to something which you consider stupid and inane.
