Why would this owl be "nuzzled" by a cow? Cows aren't exactly the most perceptive of animals.
This was an amazing experience that is sure to make you the envy fans of this bird, like me. Of course, the bird was too weak to resist or put up much fuss, so this is a rare treat.
@Mazryonh LOL I used "nuzzled" as an endeering term , it was more like nudged and proded (you know how cows get when they're bored and find something new)
It's a great experience -they are really cute and so much easier to work with when they are in this state . As soon as she is strong enough to eat on her own , we will put her in a flight and not give any more human interaction (other than feeding and cleaning) so that she will remain wild for release
@MrRelhed I remember another vid here called "Stripey the Great Horned Owl" that showed a rescued GHO that had developed a strange sort of respect for humans. She was able hunt and even mated normally, but she never lost her respect for her former caretaker (he was even able to pet and feed her when she was raising owlets). I wonder if this new owl will acquire that kind of respect--will she become Blizzard's mate if it gets that far?
@Mazryonh I will have to search for that one-sounds interesting.We really hope to release her (seems that a broken leg is her biggest problem)but if worst comes to worst , I guess it would be up to Blizzard .. or rather the little girl if she accepts him
@FruittisMaris We know for sure that there is a broken leg and she is very weak from not eating and being covered in tiny bugs . We got rid of the bugs and gave her vitamin booster shots and tonight we will work on the leg

@MrRelhed Let's hope for the best. She does seem less heavily barred than most female Snowy Owls I've seen, though. Will you give her a name soon?
