  • I disagree I do not thing that Q is a top tier character at all. You have to be highly skilled to make him competeve especially if you you use the x-flat super 99% of the gamers out there could never compo into the x-flat super like the video does.

    But any half ass player could compete using Ken, Yun or Yang

    If you could pull a good win rate with Q, Elena or Oro, you are a very skill player in my book.

  • Wow they showd players how to kara and everything! Hands down the best instructional video evr!

  • I wish there was a translation for this. A SF3 rookie like me can really a tutorial like this.

  • Would anyone care to post a direct translation starting at 2:25 until 2:50?

    Post the vid again and put it as annotations if you want to.

  • @JoshReflek It's called Guard Parry. Basically when your blocking; perform a parry (moving the stick forward when there attack hits you). If done correctly your person will flash Red instead of Blue.

  • @ExSolstice Can it bring your health back up if u continually do Red Parry? (If Possible at all) Or just bring back chip damaged health?

  • @MasterSir23 No there is no way of recovering any health outside of Elena's SA. Parrying prevents you from taking any damage and raises your Super Meter. When you have no health left and you get hit while you block, you get KO'd. But if you parry, you do not get KO'd.

  • @ExSolstice i know what a red parry is, but im looking for a more specific explanation of the timing and motion to get it consistently.

    I believe after blocking a hit you must return the stick to neutral before you parry.

  • @JoshReflek You are correct. The timing isn't too hard to get. Push forward at the exact moment an attack would hit you.

  • anyone know what the part about supers doing different damage was about? they showed it with shin shoryuken and uriens tackle super, was it just using a different strength button or was there more to it?

  • @springbeak 6:54 "Crouch Counter"

    6:57 - 7:33 while crouching takes 1.25 x damages of standing

  • @chickenpot i'm not sure if that's tier list...looked way too mess up to be true

    A = Q, Remy, Yun, Yang, Ibuki

    B = Chun Li, Makoto, Ryu, Ken, Sean, Elena, Oro

    C = Gouki

    D = Alex, Dudley, Urien

    E = Twelve, Necro

    F = Hugo

    seriously? if that's tier list, i would love to see who in the past manage to pull Q, Remy, Ibuki, and Sean to such a high rank...that is just impossible...

    it is not kara throw range list, nor its hp difference...

    someone with better nihongo should try to translate that

  • @Baronight Priority at corner and Mekuri (attacking a back?).

    8:40 - 8: 54 means that (B KEN) is impossible to attack backs of higher (A REMY) and same ranks (B RYU) at corner when they're walkng toward the corner, but it is possible to lower ranks like (D URIEN).

    i am not sure Mekuri in English, though

  • @Baronight no that wasnt a tier list

    i believe its a list on who doesnt get crossed up in the corner easily by ken using mk, they showed it after with urien, remy, ryu, etc

  • You know that Thrust punch to the gut + link to DP that ryu does. It's all the rage in SFIV but I've never seen ANY of the pro players do it in SF3 3rd strike.

  • @foreverseethe It's harder to link in 3s, and the slow start up makes it relatively easy to parry.

  • At 8:30 is that their tier list? Cause if it is then no wonder Kuroda plays Q! Though I guess it's been changed drastically since then.

  • @chickenpotpieisyummy

    I'm sure it has. Things are discovered as time progresses that unlock a character's potential and push him/her up the list. This can cause some characters to drop as well, though. Does that make sense? I feel I'm not explaining that well. .-.

    But, honestly, I kinda agree with Q being up there... though the tier list in this video is quite old, Q has quite a lot going for him, including extreme stamina and solid combos, good throw, good supers...

  • @CodyRockLee13

    yea that made sense i mean c.viper started off very low in sf4 and moved to a respectable position over time. and Q is very solid but top tier? if anyone was obviously top tier so early in the game it would be chun-li. lol @ 8-month late response

  • This is so beautiful. Mostly the character specific portion. The Shend is amazing.

  • i dont care if it's posted on youtube already... i need my own copy of this

  • No wonder the Japs out-rank us, THIS COMES WITH THEIR COPY OF THE GAME, like holy shit. It teaches you how to fucking kara throw for christ's sake.

  • Yeah anybody who says "veterans" don't need this...there's a lot of good stuff in here, I'm willing to bet anything you didn't know everything...and as stated by others already, it's good for beginners/intermediates. I can maybe answer *some* questions about the various bits, I just can't do a full, proper translation, which would also be nice for completionist purposes.

  • only scrubs need translation

  • @ehsanmace and who would watch this and learn the most out of it? Scrubs.

  • most part of this video are self explanatory for veteran player...

    there is no need for translation, they were made for beginner who just started the game

  • @Baronight I'm thinking a veteran player wouldn't need to watch it anyway.

  • @Baronight

    and if there was a beginner who wanted to learn but needed a translation?

  • Needs english subs

  • i remember this! YEAH

  • ENGLISH pls
