  • Early Twin peaks?

  • Very inspirational! Lynch the greaTEST Mindfucker!

  • BOO!

  • What a cool guy he is :o)

  • the naked women @ 0:30 end of the story.

  • This is life, It makes no sense, or should I say we read into it whatever we want.

  • the man who costantly mindfucks.

i wonder if he ever shat anything but bricks.

  • the cool thing is how this movie is made, if you didnt know.

Its filmed on a camera made of only glas, cobber and wood. its made with only natural lighting, and its all in one take! you might not belive this, thoug it is true.

  • wow, the music is amazing!

  • Did Badalamenti work on this?

  • love it.

  • the cops find a girls body...her mother was worried about her...she had been with her girlfriends...and was abducted and tortured naked in a test tube by a cult of masked men before she was killed...the cops come to her mother bearing bad news...

    basically Twin-Peaks etc.

  • @Raymantico

    or...

the cops find a girls body...her mother was worried about her...she had been with her girlfriends... she's dead and is bourning in hell (the masked man are devils)... the cops come to her mother bearing bad news...

  • @ValeMalus could be so...that scene is like Haxen

  • this is 58 second. not 45

  • check ut my dark fetisistic symbolic vids

  • @ In5secs

    Simple mistake, no problem :)

  • This isn't related to David Lynch at all.

  • @in5secs Yes it is. It's one of his short films he made that's on instant Netflix. It was filmed with a type of film used in the 1800's which is very expensive and hard to come by. That's why the film is only around 50 secs long.

  • @in5secs If directing it has nothing to do with it.........

  • @brendanpr21 I thought I was commenting on a previous video that had the Lynch name on it, but wasn't made by him. Yes, this one was. My bad.

  • could this have been the initial idea for twin peaks?

  • @rhombuslover69 This was after twin peaks

  • This clip reminds me of Begotten.

  • Jeez ... can't Lynch go 45 sec without using a giant flame? Film is interesting though

  • Comment removed

  • I love how it says "45 sec fil" when it's 57 seconds long

  • there is 12 seconds of just black cut throughout the film. While the screen is black, there is no film there. Subtract the 12 seconds of missing film from the 57 second product. And its a 45 second film.

  • since the film was done with one roll of film and no cuts (the black parts was masked out to allow the camera to move from one setup to the next) as per the rules of the project, I think we can safely assume that the black bits should "count"...

And of course, there's still music playing and we aren't exactly fast-forwarding past the black spots. So why subtract them if they are obviously part of the film and the experience of watching it?

  • because "45 second film" wouldn't make sense otherwise...

  • @BigPapaSmurfy Well, the black screen seconds belong to the movie, don't they?

  • Out of all the films from the Lumiere compilation project, Lynch really stole the show. He really put in the most effort and thought into his film.

  • Is it just me or does the girl's mother look like Kyle MacLachlan in his Blue Velvet character, Jeffrey Beaumont?

  • I don't understand how you can not like Lost Highway and yet like the other movies you mentioned...

  • why do they suck..

  • In my opinion lost highway is one of lynch's weaker films, i was appalled by Lynch's soundtrack... Smashing pumpkins and that german band in a Lynch movie? common.

  • You probably mean Rammstein :). It is also Lynch's favorite band. :D

  • Really? That's pretty cool, you would think it's Throbbing Gristle or something.

  • rammenstein from lost highway soundtrack

  • David Lynch: a master of horror and intrigue, no matter how long or short his films are.

  • забавно

  • there is no more unique filmmaker in the world than David Lynch.

  • Federico Fellini, but alas, he is not in this world anymore :(

  • Or even Salvador Dali, but i think they are equals. Lynch is just my personal favorite, nobody else comes close.

  • @zmoore83 your mistaking "unique" with "untalented"

  • @jibidis Just out of curiosity, why do you consider Lynch untalented?

  • This is from that dvd, Lumiere et compagnie or something. basically a bunch of famous filmmakers do a minute long film using the lumiere camera.

REMEMBER THAT YOU CAN NOT MAKE CUTS WITH THE LUMIERE CAMERA. THIS WAS SHOT IN ONE TAKE.

  • The plot is clear... Any frozen freight train can make crazy to an unusually slow burglar, but it takes a real paper reactor to barely be a big fan of a lover defined by a diskette.

  • lol!!!

  • It's David Lynch and he would tell you it is not to be explained nor is it to be understood. It is like seeing a torn image of being lost in insanity. It is "IS".

  • hey I don't really understand the hidden meaning of this film.. Can anyone explain to me? Sorry and Thank You!!

  • Police find dead girl. Dead girl's mother sits at home worried, imagining all the horrible things that might have happened to her daughter. Police arrive to give her the bad news. FIN

  • That was the longest 57 seconds of my life...and I loved every millisecond!

  • This is one of the greatest things I've ever seen.

And yeah, Inland Empire is one of Lynch's best, up there with Eraserhead and Blue Velvet.

  • inland empire I thought was pretty incredible. I don't lynch has made a dud really ever.

  • Have you seen Dune?

  • jeez thats the ONE I haven't seen. does it suck?

  • Yes.

  • Not too fond of Wild at Heart either. And Fire Walk With Me is patchy, though its best moments are extremely beautiful.

  • That was very effective and shocking. I love Lynch what a fuck nut. Hey did any of you watch Inland Empire?

  • inland empire scared the shit out of me

  • i saw that in a local art house theater, and yeah, it was probably the scariest film i've ever seen. no one can give me an unbearable sense of shapeless dread like lynch.

  • Hey Royaltenenbaum23! The film is entitled 'Premonitions of an evil deed' and you're absolutley right. Lynch made this for a tribute to the Lumiere Brothers...interestingly enough the film-makers were only allowed to shot with an old camera in a short space of time. No contemporary editing was allowed and what you can see with this very short film is quite fascinating...hope that helps a little...It's utterly amazing isn't it!! Think how much this accomplishes within such a short running time!!

  • doesn't anybody know how it's called?

  • It was for a tribute to the Lumiere brothers in 1995 called 'Lumiere and Company' there was 40 short films and none had individual titles.

  • It was to commemorate the 100th anniversary of filming in 1996, it was filmed with the original Lumiere brother's camera.

    Or wikipedia says so.

  • who made this film?

  • david lynch... :))
