Ben Jones cause he wouldnt shave . And James Best Rosco missed few cause they wouldnt give him his own dressing set. John Schnieder missed couple episodes in season 3 and 6 ba ba black sheep and couple season 6 they should him at end of 1 was just luke of course season 5 bo and luke both left but came back I looked it up other day Boss Hogg and Uncle Jesse and Waylon are only ones who was on every episode of all 7 seasons of The Dukes of Hazzard dasiy missed to catch a duke season 3

I loved the new Daisy Duke Part with her in that low cut outfit, when the singer talks about flattening the hills. LOL and the part where she kicks Boss Hogg from her bed. I seem to remember that part. something about he returned to the wrong bedroom. it was funny. sh looked great in the nitey.

I heard about James Best not being happy with the scripts, but I didn't know Ben Jones had problems, too. What was wrong? Did they want the show to go back to its original format, before it became "kid friendly"? So, was Dick Sargent set to be the permanent replacement for Roscoe? I've seen the episode he was in. He was pretty funny.

Ben Jones left for a few episodes because of a dispute over the producers over whether Cooter should have a beard or not. Since the end result was Cooter being clean-shaven, I guess this is what Ben Jones wanted, while the producers wanted him to keep the beard. As for Dick Sargent, he was actually in 2 episodes, compared to just one for the other Rosco replacements, so I guess you could say he was the preferred choice.

@PaulIsDeadMissHim Wow, all of that over a beard :) I think he looked better clean-shaven, too. Yeah, Dick Sargent fit in pretty well, even if he didn't have Roscoe's silly laugh. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

As with Ben Jones, there was a dispute with the producers, this time involving the shabby dressing room accommodations, which were barely livable. Again, this was eventually resolved, and Rosco returned.

@TheNDFarmer u know that was rosco who hit boss with the car but it was replaced with enos in the credits
