i have been cleaning my twin air filter in gas for about 15 cleanings so far and theres no signs of the glue being melted or causing the filter to fall apart
Hmm the first owner of my bike seemed to of removed the all important screen, checked the manual and it had one... Why do MX guys always use T-Handle wrenches, do they offer advantages over ratchets?
i am wondering if you could help me i had a pre-oiled airfilter and i didnt no it was so i olied it up, and obviously it had twice the right amount and oil has gone right down into my carb will i need to strip it down ?
@brandonb118 Great question and don't fret, I have done the exact same thing! My suggestion is this....I would re-clean the airfilter, clean out the air box with a clean rag and contact cleaner, and wipe off as much of the carb as you can. Air filter oil is generally a chemical that will not hurt or damage the engine. But you will need to run it for a sufficient amount of time to insure that any air filter oil will be burnt out of the fuel mixture. Let me know how it goes!
@MXwrencher Hey man, i put 10w.40 oil in my kx250f, and i was just wondering if i could use the same stuff to use as air filter oil. I have been doing this for the past few month and all is good. Please tell me if i should keep doing this, cuz where i live they dont sell air filter oil. I also use dish washing liquid to clean it.
If you have a k&n air filter it dosnt matter how you clean it you'd just about everything
I would suggest k&n air filters they never need to be cleand they are soo helpfully there
$50-80
