I don't understand why this movie was hated so much by critics. Its a great movie. Then again the people that get paid for their opinions shouldn't have opinions

Okay, your position on the KKK is right, but if you look at the facts yourself, there was authenticy in any records, that his father, Robert S. James was a very proud slaveowner and the views of proslavery, were one of the main reasons the James brothers fought against the Union, and when the law was hot on his trail he did have aid from white supremist who he supported, and he shot all his victims in the back. Maybe he didn't hang blacks himself, but he was'nt against his friends doing so.

Second of all, his involvement with the KKK was never proven and most likely made up. Most historians suggest that it was actually a rumor created by the Rebublicans to generate ill will toward the James-Younger gang.
@ricbowenjr Also, Jesse's "slave driver" father, Robert? Died when he was three. So not much influence there. And the main reason he went to war was because Union soldiers tortured his step-father for information and raped his mother. I'm not saying the James-Younger gang were saints, but they were not vigilante killers. They were outlaws & thieves during a time when it was pretty much the norm. Now, can I watch my trailer in peace? Thank you.
