I agree with the bad feelings on the BRZ. From the Chevy/Geo Prism and Toyota Corolla, to the Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix, either the BRZ or the FT will eventually die. The two cannot stand together. History will dictate that if one has to go, the Toyota will survive. Not to mention a RWD Subaru is against the core audience of that brand. The BRZ will have some years, and will only stand with the FT only if its necessary to keep the factories running at capacity.
Do u honestly think that most N American Subaru drivers CARE that their car is AWD? Okay fine for those that live in the snowbelt but even then. In the UK where there are B-roads its nice to have the extra traction of 4WD such that you can race round the corners point to point as quick as possible. In the US w/ our straight roads and heavily enforced spd limits I think RWD is great cos at least u can have fun hanging the tail out on RH and LH turns!

Alex, I can't believe your not 'that excited' about the BRZ...It's going to be as fun and as cheap to maintain as a Miata, but with more power & a hell of a lot more practical. Didn't Volvo make a concept powerful C30? It was called the Polestar and had 399bhp! Volvo made some fantastic fast cars with it's T series, loads of UK Police forces had them.
Nailed it on the GS. My heart broke the day they announced that the production version wouldn't have AWD with that torque vectoring system. "GS mode" was supposed to put all of the horse power to the rear.
Looking forward, though, an AWD GS would raise the price and put it dangerously close to a future base model Cadillac ATS with similar power.
I still don't get the idea of a BRZ, the starting price will get you this list of cars (used): STI, EVO, 370z, Mustang GT 5.0 and other amazing cars why would I think about this car !!!
Alex Subaru bulit the motor and Toyota did the plaining its more of a Toyota than any thing else so I wouldnt go anywere near seeing 4WD in the BRZ even thought there working on a STI version. If you want a Subaru with 4WD just get a WRX STI and be happy.

I have to strongly disagree with the fact you think Hyundai doesn't have a bad car in their line-up... You guys drive and review NEW ones. What needs to happen is what Alex said about the Buick Regal Grand National, but twin turbo a V6. That would set it completely apart from the CTS-V in my opinion, not compete with it.
It would offer an entirely different vehicle. We shouldn't complain though, we have a turbo Buick with pretty decent power.....even if it is from a four-banger.

And for the love of god, look up "color correction" when shooting with two cameras! Not to mention the framing from the left side... Others have already mentioned the "background" music being in the foreground, and they have a point. You may see these as details, but they get in the way of your contents, which is very good.

I think you are basically right about most of the comments except that you are wrong on everything because of one overshadowing fact. everyone should make cars that are electric and with much stronger and lighter materials. and aerodynamic.
all those cars are ancient tech cars that are slow and heavy. the combustion engine is dead to me. has been for years. and it is dead. just hasn't realized it yet because auto execs are retards like Lutz the putz. and have oil buddies.
They're not going to make an STI OR an AWD version of the BRZ. They've made that pretty clear. The engine bay is too small for any other motor config and same with the transmision. This was a one-off partnership with toyota that Subaru never felt good about, so as soon as that model comes out Subaru is done with it.
The FR-S/BRZ is not meant to be an AWD vehicle. It's built for the fun of driving, proving that you don't need extremely high speeds to have fun in a car, that specs and jazzed up interiors are not ALL that matters in cars. I think it's perfect as it is.

I thouroughly enjoyed this video. It was one of the best topics I've seen so far on Road Testament and my favorite show by far. I have been following all of the cars they discussed particularly the Abarth 500 and the Subaru BRZ or Scion FRS. I agree that the 1 series is the new 3 series however there is one sad fact about all of the cars mentioned. They are all aimed at enthusiests and today it seems that there are less and less of those around. All these cars should sell but i doubt they will.
you kidding me? the nonturbo veloster is hideous. i mean the rear fascia and side profile look fine but the front fascia is something only a mother could love. the turbo veloster is much improved though
There will not be an AWD version. MotoIQ did a tech piece on it just by looking closely at the Scion FR-S and verified that there isn't enough room for the necessary diff etc to make the car AWD
I agree with Alex about the 500. as is it's just a boring underpowered city car marketed to hipsters. The only way a fiat 500 would take hold in the states is if gets sold as a hot hatch. This isn't europe, we don't all live in cities with streets carved centuries before the car was invented. Actually, I watched the entire episode and didn't hate Alex.

The Buick Regale is just a rebadged Vauxhall Insignia! The Cadillac CTSV coupe is way better looking and better to drive than any stupid Buick! Granted it looks better than previous models of the Buick Regale but to be honest they should've axed Buick instead of Pontiac, who's cars were always good looking even though they were just rebadged, better looking Chevys. Besides who wants a car that has a name that sounds like somebody vomiting? BU-ICK, Vomit the quality of a Buick.

im sure people have already told you this but the BRZ CANNOT be made AWD. the position og the engine in the engine bay prohibits the inclusion of a front drive axle and differential.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like YOU (America) are to blame for the bigger 3 Series, A4, and C Class. If America say jump, the Germans ask how high. The new 3 Series should not be as big as an old 5 Series. If you want bigger cars, buy a 5 Series, A6 or E Class!
While it's great to see manufacturers listening to consumers, it's also sad to see them going against the ethos of their original designs.
The Veloster is still a fucking awful car, either make a car that is a sedan or make one that is a coupe, not a mix of both. The only good car Hyundai makes is the Genesis because its styling is fantastic and its performance is amazing whether you buy the base model or the upcoming R-Spec.

Others have already mentioned the "background" music being in the foreground, and they have a point. You may see these as details, but they get in the way of your contents, which is very good.

I think you are basically right about most of the comments except that you are wrong on everything because of one overshadowing fact. everyone should make cars that are electric and with much stronger and lighter materials. and aerodynamic.
all those cars are ancient tech cars that are slow and heavy. the combustion engine is dead to me. has been for years. and it is dead. just hasn't realized it yet because auto execs are retards like Lutz the putz. and have oil buddies.

They're not going to make an STI OR an AWD version of the BRZ. They've made that pretty clear. The engine bay is too small for any other motor config and same with the transmision. This was a one-off partnership with toyota that Subaru never felt good about, so as soon as that model comes out Subaru is done with it.

The FR-S/BRZ is not meant to be an AWD vehicle. It's built for the fun of driving, proving that you don't need extremely high speeds to have fun in a car, that specs and jazzed up interiors are not ALL that matters in cars. I think it's perfect as it is.

I thouroughly enjoyed this video. It was one of the best topics I've seen so far on Road Testament and my favorite show by far. I have been following all of the cars they discussed particularly the Abarth 500 and the Subaru BRZ or Scion FRS. I agree that the 1 series is the new 3 series however there is one sad fact about all of the cars mentioned. They are all aimed at enthusiests and today it seems that there are less and less of those around. All these cars should sell but i doubt they will.

There will not be an AWD version. MotoIQ did a tech piece on it just by looking closely at the Scion FR-S and verified that there isn't enough room for the necessary diff etc to make the car AWD

This show is f'ing phenomenal. I love it. As a complete gearhead I have watched inumerable shows, you guys are right on the money with this one and I hope you guys continue to grow. The Buick Regale is just a rebadged Vauxhall Insignia! The Cadillac CTSV coupe is way better looking and better to drive than any stupid Buick! Granted it looks better than previous models of the Buick Regale but to be honest they should've axed Buick instead of Pontiac, who's cars were always good looking even though they were just rebadged, better looking Chevys. Besides who wants a car that has a name that sounds like somebody vomiting? BU-ICK, Vomit the quality of a Buick.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like YOU (America) are to blame for the bigger 3 Series, A4, and C Class. If America say jump, the Germans ask how high. The new 3 Series should not be as big as an old 5 Series. If you want bigger cars, buy a 5 Series, A6 or E Class!
While it's great to see manufacturers listening to consumers, it's also sad to see them going against the ethos of their original designs.

The Veloster is still a fucking awful car, either make a car that is a sedan or make one that is a coupe, not a mix of both. The only good car Hyundai makes is the Genesis because its styling is fantastic and its performance is amazing whether you buy the base model or the upcoming R-Spec.
