And now this has officially reached 16,000 views! I'll never get tired of watching this set. Do you happen to have what comes right after this jam (My Morning Song)? If so, please upload! Thanks muchly!
Nasty , nasty !! One of my all time fav bands.. Until mark ford left. Rich and marc had the greatest bond and now it's gone... but i will always see them !! miss you marc
This is the Glastonbury Festival in '95. The first time I was at Glastonbury and the first time I ever saw the Crowes. What a weekend!! Love that place, love the Crowes.
Yeah, but I don't think Keith "jus' play a solo 'ere, mate." Richards needed Mick as much as RichRob needed Marc to fill out their sound. His play was so dominant during that three album stretch of their best material. As far as phrasing and tone goes, Marc Ford is on an island unto himself. Unique and instantly recognizable a'la Gilmour. He does approach a bit of a Hendrix impression at times with bends and passing notes, but way more patient in the way he lets the lines breathe. A monster.
Without question, the Crowes are one of the best bands to come out in the last 30 years. A blues based jam band that hit their peak during the height of the "grunge" explosion. The last time I saw these guys was Sept. 9 2001 in Sun City, AZ. At a retirement community amphitheatre, They sold no alcohol??? Great show anyways!
first time i saw the crowes was about 3 weeks prior to this and I remember this jam like it was yesterday. They completely blew me away...I was so impressed having never seen a jam band before and would go on to see them dozens of times more...dare I say...life changing.
I wholeheartedly agree. "Life-changing" is a phrase that gets thrown around quite a bit, but when it comes to seeing the Crowes in concert, it's absolutely appropriate...
So go...they tour constantly....I try to catch them several times each tour/year....always a good show, never bad, and sometimes really incredible!!! Never know. always different. I've seen them on consecutive nights often and you'd be surprised how different each show can be.
I'd really like to go, but I live in Finland. The closest they've been to Finland is Amsterdam (recently, they were here two times in the 90s).. but I hope I'll have enough money the next time they come to Europe so I can go see them.. now they're touring the States so it won't be soon.
Actually, Dick, when u'r trying 2 say that some1's question is stupid you don't imply it by asking 1 that you think is not. Ur premise sucks. He's just asking a question. Ur attempt at sounding smart by putting someone else down makes you a suck too. About Marc, I agree, jmyers...seems like a cool guy, and a good player, but I've always wondered myself. He plays with a lot of feeling, which I think is the most imprt. thing. But, even in this video, I think Rich is playing some cooler stuff.
Hey retard - you might want to learn how to spell before you make anymore comments. You sound like a bigger idiot than the person asking the original (yes, STUPID) question. And if you think Rich is playing 'cooler stuff' in this vid than Marc your head is stuck so far up your own ass you can't breathe. Which is a good thing, since the world needs less dumbshits walking around...
Hey again, Corkscrewey, might be a bit of a long shot, but do you have any more live concert video from this sort of era? kinda 1992-1995 sort of time? if you do i'de really appreciate you putting some of it up! cheers, alex x
@xTHExWASPx if you look around you will find it. There are many generous Crowes fans that spend time putting together quality dvd productions of live shows. Thankfully for the most part the Black Crowes are a band that encourages that. This was taken off a televised event in Europe (see date/festival information in the description) , and if you do a little searching you should be able to find it.
@xTHExWASPx there are a run on dvd's called nonfiction.... now ive only seeen 2 copys in houston and i have one of them and catcus music records has the other you should order it
Awesome! LOVE these guys! Thanks brother, for posting!

like how ford was playing licks with a lit cigarette in his hand-

Check out how Ford waits to come in on the first notes. Most guitar players would already have rushed that.

This is without question THE greatest lineup, not only for TBC, but rock n roll period.

Seriously. If you don't like it just go put in your copy of the new Nickelback CD.

"Why is EVERYONE so hung up on Marc Ford?"
That's like me saying "why would ANYONE ask such a stupid fucking question?".
If you really don't know the answer, keep listening.
Hopefully you'll 'get it' eventually.....though I kinda doubt it.
