Would a 12ga be suitable for taking buffalo? I have a Remington 870 Express Magnum, and I can get it a rifled 24" barrel and can use 870 grain hard cast slugs in it for maximum penetration. at that level of power it would dwarf even the 50-140 sharps
Don't waste the buffalo like all the other stupid whites. Be responsible to this earth, and be respectful to all the living things within it. I'm not saying you shouldn't kill any animals, but American Bison is going extinct if we're not smart. Use everything from the animal, don't waste, and remember that these magnificent creatures once belonged to not your people, but that of the first Americans, the Indians.
@luisenoSD Obviously you are not well informed, the bison are not in danger of extinction and are growing in numbers, hunting is one of the methods used to cultivate the growth of bison today......there is not yet enough market totally for bison meat. We use the heart, tongue, liver, ....all the meat. Some of the hides that aren't used actually go to a Native American reservation for use.
@Sandhillcowboy1 Furthermore, You are also incorrect about the bison belonging to the Native Americans........the Plains culture believed they nor the land belonged to them. My GG Grandmother was on the "Trail of Tears" so don't be pulling that "Native American Liberal Rights" stuff here:) My GGrandfather worked for Buffalo Bill and homesteaded in our state. We like to think we represent both cultures in harmony, something some of the activists should adhere to.
@luisenoSD American Bison are not endangered. They once roamed through North America in MASSIVE herds, and hunting lowered their population. Bison are nowhere near going to become extinct, they are only near threatened. While I don't support hunting either, Bison would be EVERYWHERE if we didn't hunt them.
@gunterreary3 The hunter in this video had this on his bucket list too! To hunt and harvest your own great organic food makes for a great bucket combo
Hey Anti everything, all those critters shown on the videos were taken to eat......evidently you are vegan.......but even then you have to take a plants life to eat them......right?........Can tell by your filthy language that you are a low level intellectual who doesn't realize that to manage the herds of today you do need to remove numbers yearly, or have overcrowding and starvation as a result.........buffalo are not on the endangered list anymore.........you anti's are 130 yrs behind times
I am tired of listening to the same old rhetoric anti. I grew up not using filthy language like you are and have a respect for other people's opinions, and know how to give my opinion in a respectful way. Obviously your upbringing lacked in those departments? ....No need to subject others to your filthy mouth
If you check out Dakotajim you will find that he has posted negative comments on a lot of different buffalo hunt videos........so I will assume he/she is an anti hunter masquerading on You Tube or has an agenda with buffalo hunts. A lot of bold statements for one who admittedly has never hunted buff.........makes you wonder?........
@DeistRW This particular one was not a sharps. The majority of our hunts are with replica vintage guns and archery. Much more of a challenge than deer or elk with a high power rifle btw :)

@quirtnic Technically you are correct, however the term buffalo has been used from the early heyday of the buffalo hunting until now by the early writers of that period and on into the 21st century, and has became entrenched as the norm as opposed to the more "technically" correct term bison. If it was a scientific journal video I would term it a bison however:)

@drewnickel Yes, although we have not had anyone use one, I would think they would work well.
