Good idea, but not so practical to be true. Though H2SO4 is fairly commonplace it doesnt fit into the H2 economy, personally I think that the best way for H2 synthesis is NaOH + Al:
6NaOH + 2Al => 2Na3AlO3 + 3H2.
NaOH being produced easily through chloroalkali plants, but Al - although common - requires much energy for extraction.

Hey this is something neat to try. Fill a bottlecap(2 liter or just a soda bottlecap20 oz.) 1/4 full of water. Put half that amount of salt in the bottlecap. Put it in the microwave for 1 minute and you will get small sparks and flames.

Thank you for the info. The chemical reactions/processes to extract hydrogen like this aren't commonly published because as you stated it is simple, efficient, and cheap. Those 3 words aren't what the oil barons or even our own government want to hear. Efficient methods to extract hydrogen from H2O has been known for a long time, but our government can't make enough money from it. Now that gas prices have soared, don't you think we are just filling someone's deep pockets of greed?
That sounds expensive for the amount of hydrogen you'll get. That's the trouble with hydrogen. You still have to put the energy in into the process to make large amounts of usable fuel, like for cars. There's no way around this problem, unless we can get microbes to do the work, but even they have to be fed the energy.
Yes it can be expensive. But I think we can get the same results from lye water and Alum. soda cans. Lye is kinda hard to find these days but you can get it on the internet or make you'r own. To make lye all you need is a hopper to save up wood ashes till you get a good batch. Then add water to the ashes and let the water soak like a day or 2 and then drain the water out and catch this water. It is now lye.
I remember reading something about that once, using aluminum. I think of somebody makes a truly viable process that can economically produce large amounts of the hydrogen, that it will happen.

And I think sulfuric acid is not needed as well. I believe that lye mixed with water and then add lets say a soda can or two will do the same thing. Made from Alum. that is. I think that a magazine could be built that would add the materal as it is needed. Now it is just the proveing of the making of hydrogen and how much it will make.

Also if you do dilute any acids,,ALWAYS ADD THE ACID SLOWLY TO WATER. NEVER WATER TO ACID.When acids are diluted there is an instant reaction so it has to be done really slow. What exactly are you saying?
H2 is simply the diatomic Hydrogen molecule, just as Oxygen is found as O2. The "3" simply denoted there were three!
Deuterium is usually referred to as D2 and tritium T2.
"Fluorine Martyr" is a memorial to those who died in the pioneering days of Fluorine research.
Maybe I didn't understand you correctly, but what is there to understand.
