  • If you think their figures are scary, you should see their 'solutions'.

  • Looking at the average yearly wage (2009) in US dollars across the world:

    United States: $46,400 Russia: $15,200 Mexico: $13,200 Brazil: $10,200 China: $6,500 Indonesia: $4,000 Thailand: $4,000 Philippines’s: 3,300 India: $3,100 Vietnam: $2,900

For the price of one American Worker ($46,400), a US company can hire 14 workers in India, 16 workers in Vietnam, 11 workers in Thailand. Tariffs and Regulations are barriers that prevent this and create jobs here.

  • @teagar3 Unfortunately you don't get to see the jobs that are lost when you here when you create barriers and tariffs. Excluding tariffs from other countries that are bound to increase if we increase our tariffs on them. US companies that use materials from from India have to pay more money to get the exact same good or service which kills jobs in America. If you really think tariffs are the answer then why shouldn't we start with states and cities don't putting tariffs on each other?

  • @ericejk First off, Trade treaties are negotiated between countries, not between states, not between providences. Tariffs and Regulations have been around for most of America's history, it started with the first continental congress in 1789. For the last 17 (1993) we have had Free Trade, but it has been one way Free Trade for the most part, most other countries have been practicing protectionism on their imports, yet being able to export to the US duty free.

  • @teagar Between 1949 and 1993 we had GATT (General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs). For the last 17 years many countries have taken advantage of America's Free Trade policy. As a result we have lost factories, we have lost millions of jobs, we have had millions of homes forclosed. Under Gatt any Tariff collected is used to pay the National Deficit. The amount of Tariff assessed depends upon the country of orgin, the main thing is, we need to make trade fair for Americans.

  • How does that "hope & change" & "change you can believe in" feel America???

Make a change and have your voices heard NOV 2nd, please VOTE!!!!

  • Good for them for highlighting the problem.

However, if you "look beyond the headlines" on BankruptingAmerica, you'll find that they're Beltway libertarians linked into the "Kochtopus" (search it).

Their "solution" to the problem would consist of massive immigration, massive "free trade", and in general policies that would only help a few at the expense of everyone else.

For a discussion of one of their earlier, misleading videos, see (remove the spaces around the dot)

  • @NoMoreBlatherDotCom everybodys a blathering idiot- what do you expect?

  • Their numbers are actually too low. In up-country Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont that number is more like 20%.

And those are the same people who voted for the fool.

    Sad, how very sad.

  • go obama and go dems! those guys are doing a great job! hope and change!

  • Ron Paul 2012!

    Ron Paul IS my president

  • Now how's that hope and change working out for all the supporters of the Kenyan Born Wonderboy? To all the people out there who 'hate big business'....news flash, big business creates big jobs and then small business creates more jobs to help the big business make and deliver their goods..

Comprende all you liberals who are seeking always the easiest and quickest way to the top? There are no shortcuts and for Americans to be working we can't have a prez who fights Americans more than illegals

  • Well, I'm happy they're trying to be something separate from the news corporations but it's not correct to include people who settle for part time work in the unemployment rate. That's called underemployment and it's not fair to put the underemployed in the same category as the unemployed.

  • So... lets talk civics. THe PRESIDENT is not in charge of Job creation, we , the people of this country are the ones who will help create jobs by starting to spend and invest again. The president does not write laws. CONGRESS does. so all the things that we are saying is a failure has nothing to do with him. IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH OUR REPRESENTATIVES. So really.. everyone who voted for the people who get on capitol hill and FUCK around everyday are the ones who owes us an apology.

  • @TheSassyStephB -, the president and the congress can dis-courage job growth. thru taxes and such. like your post. your right they cannot create jobs. but they can kill jobs.

  • @AM2prunejuice :-) I do not agree. It just the nature of the beast. All of it is human behavior and not the government.

  • There are two kinds of unemployment: [1] an idle wage-earner waiting to get hired, who, like those who count them, can't see the handwriting on the wall; [2] the struggling (or just-beginning) self-employed, who realize that Obamacare, regulation and taxes have made hiring more frightening and expensive than ever, and that many entry barriers have fallen away, particularly on the Web. Time we quit waiting, and employed ourselves and each other. That's the only way an economy gets back on track.

  • Thanks Barack! You're a 100% FAILURE and destroying America. We're going to get rid of your idiot colleagues in three weeks, stop your destruction, and boot your idiot butt out in 2012. Biggest mistake in American history? Ever? FRAUDBAMA. Every single moron who voted for him owes their fellow Americans an APOLOGY.

  • you can just "give up" looking for a job...you still have to eat and a place to sleep.

  • @chingon711 Most of those who give up have spouses that are working or are raiding their 401K and savings to survive.

  • Powerful video, very well done
