We are not a third world country...why is this happening? This is a type of clip I would expect from Romania, Greece etc. but not in North America. There maybe people )living on the street but these dogs had no choice other than being born. How do we educate people that animals are a lifetime commitment & not a commodity?
@margdurrance I am not sure whether a fate like this isn't the better option for the future of the dog. With the way modern dog breeding is ravaging the dogs they will soon be a degenerate bunch of living meat instead of true dogs. As a street dog these extreme characteristics favoured by dog-breeding at least don't carry on. And although many claim that street dogs are abandoned pets it is debatable whether that is true.
My Ronny and Darla-I pulled off the streets in South Central...Darla was near death, 8lbs, two broke legs and a tail...she is my blossomed BABY GIRL!!! She had a twin brother I could not catch. I heard he may still be alive after a year..he was much stronger than her and I will et him if I can...my Ronny was a bait dog for a cock fighting ring...I can't stand the area...sorry...folks get all caught up in CUTE PUPPIES but they grow up and then they don't want them...caste them off like garbage
The complete film will premiere on Animal Planet and the new Oprah Winfrey Network on or around January 1, 2011. It will be available on DVD some time after that.
I look around at all the high tech stuff we have today. Internet, cell phones, ect and I think how far we have evolved. Then I see something like this. Sad, cruel and such a rotten deal for "man's best friend". It is obvious that man has evolved into a self centered compassionless being. And to think it is all PREVENTABLE with mandatory spay/neuter..
The trailer is good. Very good in fact. But "bmarin", are there any other clips to view from this 85 minute film you claim exists? Currently you have over 25,000 people interested in this supposed film on MySpace yet there's nothing to indicate there's anything more you can offer than just a trailer. Is this all we will ever see? Sorry man but this hook was posted over 2 years ago.
God save the street dogs from the shelter wackos that wish to kill them so that civilians can take in the ones that are compatible with man. May man recreate breeds from them once the wackos who do not believe in dog ownership have abolished the breeds.
Too powerful for words, and haunting -- and this is just the trailer. Thank you for creating this, if this doesn't open anyone's eyes, I don't know what else will.
bah! I hate it when I try to give someone a good or bad thumbs and I do it too fast and I click the wrong one! I really do agree with the comment about us being a third world country and drowned bears and birds on fire, now I lost the poster and can not comment! and I commend the filmmaker for showing that people really need to start neutering their dogs and cats!
In South Central, all dogs are granted at least 5 days to be up for adoption. Many are up for much longer than that. That's not to say that there are way to many dogs out there. Hopefully this film will help address this problem.
We are truly a third world country. If I could afford to rescue a third dog or had some help I'd do it in a heartbeat. These living, feeling beings are what is left of greed and corruption. We should hang our heads in shame of our species or get up and DO something! These are GOOD dogs!
FANTASTIC!!! Let me know if you need help w/promoting or anything for this film, I really do support what you are doing, people seem to forget that we've f*cked the world up for the rest of it's inhabitants, but they have to pay for it the most. (Polar bears drowning cause of global warming, birds on fire from the fires, on and on
"Street Dogs of South Central" window stickers? Man, the trailer is awesome! Life in LA from a perspective we rarely see because we're just too busy with our own lives. Thank you. -b
Fantastic video. You have really captured the reality of life for these dogs. Thanks for making the film. Let us all know when we can see the entire film and where. You should consider entering it in the Genesis Awards. It looks like a winner to me.

What happens to the dogs when they are caught? Are they put down? - If you know the answer, please reply (dont post comment, REPLY).
