1:39 is single pedal, it is the dynamics on the snare that make it sound like double kick, he is just doing singles between the snare and kick while riding on the ride also. I do a lot of licks like this where people always tell me nice double kick work and I only have one single pedal.

Yea, 1:39 is definitely single. I've seen Rodney do that lick right in front of me b4 and I can assure u its all single. In fact after he finishes that lick, he then proceeds to actually USE the double pedals! This guy is in a league of his own. SUPER underated drummer... Doesn't get the amout of exposure as he should.
