The ways global warming effects the earth's biology are endless. It increases acidity in the ocean, it reduces the habitat of fauna living in the cryosphere because of melting ice, and in terms of humans, pushes mosquitos higher up mountains towards tribes which have traditionally lived their to escape malaria. I am not the best person to tell you about everything known about global warming and what it will do. So, if you are willing ot listen to a biologist, I reccommend Tom Flannagan who wrote

That slight increase in temperature slightly decreases the amount of snow on the ground to reflect sunlight, resulting in slightly higher temperatures. It lets the boreal forest slightly expand into the cryosphere, further altering the albedo effect. Increased CO2 concentrations slightly decrease the amount of CO2 trees take in. It's a constant domino effect. Amount of things a slight change in temperature results in is beyond human comprehension.

Again what is your point? The important question is HOW does temperature control atmospheric CO2? The largest source and sink of C02 is the ocean. Temperature is a factor in how much gas can dissolved in liquid, the warmer it is the less dissolved gases it can hold. So if say earths orbit causes the earth to warm intern causes less CO2 to be absorbed by the ocean and atmospheric CO2 increase (lag) behind temperature. Vostok graphes have nothing to do with burning fossil fuels.

If you look at Vostok recorded in the past 750k years (sorry another big number) CO2 never rose above 300ppm on scale of the that record the MWP in blip (amplitude). We now sit at over 380ppm. The correlation does not fit even slightly.

In a computer what heck are you talking about? The history temp vs CO2 has nothing to do with fact the we burning carbon sinks (oil & coal) that took millions of years to form. Scientists know how much carbon is in a liter of gas and a lb of coal there's nothing theoretical about it. Are you claiming the CO2 increase now is related to historical trend based of ice core if that were true where was massive spike in temperature that predates this CO2 increase, this is nonsense/non-science.

Ok I won't use any of those scary annoying numbers. You don't need a computer to figure this out. We know how much CO2 burning fossil fuels adds to the atmosphere every year. And we know how much the average atmospheric CO2 increases every year. Human produced CO2 is greater than the atmospheric CO2 increase. Basic logic concludes that if the fossil fuel burnt CO2 was not present the atmospheric CO2 would not have increased.

You mentioned the logarithmic relationship between CO2 and the Greenhouse effect. There is not a lot of information on this, but did read paper on it and if you graph logarithmic function where it moves fast vertically to more horizontal that is the inflection point.  The inflection point on the CO2 relationship was estimated at 800 to 1000ppm, this means CO2 has a significant effect up to that point.

Of course I care about science and evidence! By "metric" I am referring to units. You dancing around my statement and attacked the common units I used for the measurement. Only reason I see for this is that you know the statement to be true and instead acknowledging it significance you aim to diminish fact by using "small" units. I am say it does matter what UNITS you use human activity is responsible for the increase in CO2.

Carbonate drinks they that concentrated CO2 forces into water solution under pressure creates carbonic acid. Release the pressure and CO2 gas dissolves out solution (forming bubble on your glass, pop fizz). This is Henry's law at work, which is relation dissolved gases based on gas concentration and pressure. Increase atmosphere CO2 concentration = increased ocean CO2 dissolved "Carbonic acid".

True, but over all the atmospheric concentrations have increased on average by 8 billion tons/year. Human activity produced 21 Billion tons/year. Natural carbon sinks are actually absorbing some of our emissions + natural sources of CO2. As atmospheric CO2 increase the ocean absorbs more (see Henrys Law) down side of that Carbonic acid in the ocean. If we didn't burn Gas and Coal atmospheric CO2 would not increased over the last 150 years.

The reason why GM & co are down hill is because there quality and efficiency suck (but quality has improved in last 10 years) more efficient & recyclable designs make manufacturing cheaper and more cost effective (1 in 10jobs is related to auto industry) Many oil producing mid east country are building huge solar arrays. Ever looked at who own the oilsands and where these crude pipelines go. Most of the crude does not go east-west they go south. Suncor, Syncrude, PetroCanada all used to be Canadian companies now there American owned and we have over taken Saudi's the US's largest supplier. Resources that belong to Albertans and Canadians are being pillaged on pennies on the dollar of economic benefit. They need to pay a heavier cost not sucking money from the Canadians.

True melted pools of sea ice on top of sea ice can fool some satellites, however due to cracks in the ice these pools are small, and it easy to tell where is occurring because the pools on ice look like Swiss cheese.

Alberta has the world largest desposit of crude in the world nothing will stop it from been harvested. I am not loyal to any political party and I haven't been impressed with the candidate expect Elizabeth May in English debate (No I am not voting for her, but she did well in the debate). My Personal opinion is basically the same a Danny Williams's ABC approach (Anybody But Conservatives) I will be following the polls and voting for whoever is going to beat or closest to beating the Conservative candidate. The conservatives don't seem to think the environment is important and seem to be looking forward to an ice free arctic. Jobs and economy are important, but so is our environment and conservatives are ignoring it.

David comes from a town I lived in for many years. His word is strong here and always take his word for things. He is an honest upstanding Canadian citizen and speaks for the planet. A wonderful man, a true Canadian hero.
