My Dad is a truck driver. And it sure as hell ain't easy work and they get no respect. He always tells me not to be a truck driver and to stay in school and get a goes education but I love trucking
I've been around big trucks my hole life, soon has a turn 17 an half i join the army for 88m and after and soon i got done i got my cdl class a with hazmat an double t's and i'm only 22 and i'm chasing my life/dreams in the headlights trying to make a living. and i tell ya what, i see the sunrise and sunset everyday and i love everymin of it!...it makes me sad that people lost all respect for us truck driver...
My dad has driven a tractor trailer for 20 plus years. 6 weeks ago he drove through an ice storm in pa. His truck slid on ice and rolled. He has been in a coma since then. I listen to this song everyday for him 3
@ahhmandap Hey I hope you dad get better soon! I've been a trucker for over 10 years now. I'll keep your dad and your family in my prayers. That's one of my greatest fears as a trucker being hurt or killed in a wreck. God Bless you and your father!
@ahhmandap omg god be with you all especily ur dad hes a coragious man in doing what he does to make sure america survives by delivering us our everyday needs, i can only imagine the pain ue going through, ur in my thought and prayers, and when u have the chance give ur dad a hug from me and let him know just how much he is appreciated for what he does, god bless you, ur friend always richard douglas muskegon, michigan
Like every one else leaving home after a break when the freightliner comes to life this song comes on. god bless my family for understanding. just hope my kids know I do it all for them.
I agree with abithagail12 my dads a truck driver and he runs all the damn time so when u see a big rig think of all they do it aint easy being a truck driver or their family
America would not have shit without truckers. Peolpe dont realize that and they think that the big rigs taking up the road are just there for shit and giggles. America relies 100% on the trucks and thier drivers. God bless ALL truckers and their families
my father and 70% of the males in my family has been or is truck drivers and all i got to say is god bless the AMERICAN TRUCK DRIVER and be safe out there DRIVERS
I would like to Dedicate this song to My Wife's Uncle..." Dallas " He just had a Heart attack last week. Uncle " D " has chased this white line for as long as I've known him... And We know he will be back on the ROAD SOON !!! ....Come on Uncle " D "... This lane is open for Ya.........
I use to be so happy, I became handycap and I miss that road so bad..I pray everyday I'll be back out there. This song gives me hope. I'm fightin' so bad,one day I'll be out there on the wind again, watch and see.
my family has been trucking for as long many generations, and ive got deisel in my blood too. The only reason I might break the chain is I enjoy twist wrenches on them just as much as i love switchin the gears between the white and yellow lines. Either way, big rigs is gunna be in my future,
@FordLover941 i hope your be comes a truck driver and america move like the ones before him i hope does a great job like the other truckers out that are keeping america moving thx. and good luck.
17... damn 4 more years and i get my turn behind the wheel of an 18 Wheeler cant wait ive been wanting to drive isnce i was 5 years old... :| my dad drove truck an dso will i :)
Man i have this song on my ipod and boy do i love it makes me think of my father everytime he only was able to drive for roughly 17 years thanks to type 1 diabetes. he sure loved it tho and i don't care what anyone says he was the best driver out on the road and has his million mile pin already.
I drove for about a year...quit...But had to come back..Been on the road for a long time now.
Thank God I'm still here and Thanks to my Wife...For putting up with me being away from home alot..But It won't be long now....I'll be parked in the yard for good.
@markmatkovich Been doing it for 33 years, and have that many more to go. 3 million accident free miles. Not too many can say that these days, but some day they can.
I absolutely love this song! I am and truckers wife. I love my husband but I hate his job keeping him away from me, but in reality without truck drivers we wouldn't have anything! I hold a high respect for these Asphalt Cowboys! :)
if the trucks stoped running all over north america evry thing would come to a stand still so truck driver keep drive save and thanks.thanks for keeping north america moving i show you the truck driver the repect you need to keep going thx.
@TheBulldog316 My Husband is an Owner Operator and we try hard to manage our lives around it. Like the song says, he often doesn't want to leave. We have very little "partner" time together but try to make the most of it. It takes a lot to do this job and many times their lives are at risk. He doesn't know any thing else and he takes pride in what he does.
@TheBulldog316 Im a trucker, and its nice to have people's appreciation in what we do, its a long, lonely job, u miss home, u miss your wife, your kids, and your life, u do it to sustain all of that, tho u never enjoy it, its hard....it really is, we love the open road, the sites we see, and the people we meet tho...next time u see a trucker, just nod, wave or thank personally.....it helps :)
I am a truckers wife and a 6 wheel CDL holder and I have lots of respect for 99% truck drivers. The ones that show me respect and others even when they or I don't deserve it makes them 100% proffessional and great guys/gals.
To all those people that dont understand truck drivers and what they do for the world you all need to understand they are the reason you can go to the story and product is there on the selves and the reason for so many things you will never know. I am very proud that my grandfather and father dedicated themselves to the lond haul. I too am a Truck Driver!!!!!!!
@dan07warrior My old man and grandfather were truck drivers, and i will be soon. i hear ya 100% on that one man, i respect the hell out of these guys.
this is my and my dads song am 13 and he is 43 i been wiht him in that 357 pet the day i walked for the first time i got to go wiht him if that and a asphalt cowboy idk what iss love u dad

great song and video i hate it how people talk shit on truckers but what they dont think about is i bet thay cant find one thing in there house that a trucker did not move
@dan4750 there are a lot of people that talk shit about truckers. truckers and cowboys are a dying breed. and to all the new drivers out here if your going to drive it, drive it right and treat it with respect.
I love this song and the video is great with all the big rigs in it. My father drove 18-wheelers all his life and passed away doing what he loved the most. He was and still is an Asphalt Cowboy. I am also thinking of taking over and become an Asphalt Cowgirl...lol.
Wow! This is my John Boy, the one n only to a T! I recently I made my first long run with him from Lubbock, TX to Mississippi, to Alabama, to Stratford, TX then back home to Lubbock in two days. I had a wonderful time and it was such a joy to learn from him, first-hand, his lifestyle n way of living. Maybe a little too long for my first big-rig road trip, but definitely a trip I wouldn't trade for anything in the world! And John was the best driver, teacher, and companion. I now have a new and
This song makes me cry so bad, but I love it. I'm a truckers daughter and I'll always be proud of it. There aren't many good people left around here but you can always count on the trucker to help a girl out when she's in trouble.
set this as the ringer on my gf's phone so whenever i call her this song plays...everytime im gone when i call her she tears up when she hears it.god bless you all and keep on truckin
Im young and i drive road trains in Australia, While this song is aimed at american truckies i still feel like it applies to every trucker around the globe!
I want I say something to all you truck drivers out their. Without you this country would be a disaster. And to all the drivers that died behind the wheel, I give all my respect to you. Because my dad had a bad reck in a Freightliner in Oklahoma and almost died that day. It really put into perspective how dangerous it is to drive a truck. So for everybody reading this pray for all the truckers on the road.
I've been driving for 2 1/2 years. My dad drove for as long as i can remember and his dad before him. I lost my dad last year to cancer but i feel him with me every mile i run.
@j5sully2012 Because it speaks the truth. I have been driving since 1979, and i relate to almost every word in the song. Granted, this is actually the only song that i like by Jason Aldean. I,m not too much in to this new country.
much respect to all truck drives i know i shouldnt say this but he use 2 take me with him on the road and would let me drive his truck and a couple weeks later after making a delivery to houston on his way back he got ran off the road and was haulin a tanker full of diesel with 16 cars behind him and he struggled 2 keep it under controll with that tanker goin back and forth but he gave his life to save every one else so yea i got much respect for all truck drivers out there keep doin what ur doi
I will tell you all something you either love it or hate it This last month Ive been drivin the big rigs for 15 years did over the road for quite a few but nfor the last 5 yrs I have just been running regional still lovin it finally get paid for what i do THanks to all of my brother truckers for what you do god bless all of you ...
@KickingOffMillwall Alright i own a trailer, on the weekends i go hunting been in my family for 3 generations and if that ain't country enough then kiss my country ass! lol
My daddy's a trucker. He's been a trucker since he was 14. He's such a hard worker, 'cuz it' a hard job, that's why I am so proud of him. Love you Billy Ray Foster! (:
It's hard to believe how much people look down on truck driver, I am a sophomore in high school and the other day in science class the teacher asked all of us what we wanted to be when we grew up, and I said I wanted to be a truck driver and some people said that was stupid but I though to me self it isn't stupid if you think about all truckers do for the United States
My dad has been a trucker for 28 years and as soon as i can get my CDL licsence i plan to join him even though its a hard life....people need to respect truckers alot more, cause without them those people that compain about truckers, wouldnt get what they want or need!!
I love this video. My Husband is my very best friend and he owns a small trucking business! I miss him every second he is gone! Till he's back in my arms again! Sending much love and apperication out to all our Truckers and the ones who love them!
this song is decidted from me to my old man this is so him and makes me cry every time i hear it he used to be a truck driver and wants to go back to it because i am at college and he is getting bored but i do not want him too but thanks dad u mean every thing to alot of people for being a asphalt cowboy !
My husband "Speedbreaker" was the best trucker ever!! He passed away in 2007 and is greatly missed, not just by me and my family but those who counted on him to make those long runs. Hats off to all the hard working truckers!!!!!!!!!
Thank you all so much for workin so hard and sacrificing so much. My 3 years spent in AZ were learning how to fix rigs like seen in this vid. And i done got good at it. The smell of of hot engines, greasy diesel, PP1 valves releasin and jake brakes poppin are what get my red white and blue blood pumpin!! I love y'all, thank all of you out there so much!!! I miss the ribbons of asphalt and an open horizon like you wouldn't believe. God Bless y'all and keep'er between the lines!
To all the road warriors and their families, thank you. y'all are the backbone of this great country. I've been around this world and in no other place do they have badass trucks and truckers like we do. I live in hawaii and spent three years in arizona livin next to the I-10 in a trailer park. I had a lil cobra CB in my VW bus and would chat with the guys on the road and loved every second of it. I drove my lil bus cross country and drafted all those rigs out there wishin i could drive one too
I also lost my dad in 2009. He had drove truck all of his life and taught my brothers everything he knew. He has hauled everything and anything you can imagine. At the time he was hauling logs and the company called him in to cut the trees one morning and the 3rd tree he cut that day fell on him. He wasn't even supposed to be there. Truckers are amazing people and no one will understand what they go through except their family that's waiting back home for them. THANK YOU TRUCKERS OF AMERICA!
That is what my Fiance says. He is based out of Miami and I live in Atlanta. Thank you for posting this video. It helps on lonely nights like tonight.
What a great song! I wonder how I never heard it. I'm a asphalt cowboy and it's ruined 2 relationships now. It's a tough life and It's very hard to find a girl who is supportive of it. Maybe someday. Honestly I hate it so much but in this economy It's the only thing I can do for now.
My husband and I have been married 9 years and when I first married him he had an office job BUT his heart was to leave it and go on the road ( he spared on his days off) so we decided it would be a thing he needed to do. I totally hated it at first BUT after going with him I got my eyes opened to How hard truckers work and how much they depend on their wives back home to support them....thank you Jason for this song.
i love this song! my dad was a trucker for 34 years b4 he retired due to health problems. i can recall the years i was supposed to be learning things in preschool sitting in the passenger seat of my daddys big rig getting math, reading, & spelling lessons. i wouldnt have wanted my childhood any other way.
Great job! This hits home reallu really hard, as a daughter sister and niece of drivers and a driver myself i have been facing the pains and hardships of truck driving all my life! GOD BLESS the truck drivers that keep America going!

Why is this song so fucking good?
j5sully2012 3 months ago 16
@j5sully2012 Because it speaks the truth. I have been driving since 1979, and i relate to almost every word in the song. Granted, this is actually the only song that i like by Jason Aldean. I,m not too much in to this new country.

I drove my lil bus cross country and drafted all those rigs out there wishin i could drive one too
sickpuppy691 4 months ago
I also lost my dad in 2009. He had drove truck all of his life and taught my brothers everything he knew. He has hauled everything and anything you can imagine. At the time he was hauling logs and the company called him in to cut the trees one morning and the 3rd tree he cut that day fell on him. He wasn't even supposed to be there. Truckers are amazing people and no one will understand what they go through except their family that's waiting back home for them. THANK YOU TRUCKERS OF AMERICA!
