funny, i've never looked at that video or the comments but it seems that i have to explain/defend myself. Djordje asked me to record an example of fast psychobilly bassplaying with different effects, that's what it is, no more no less. i wasn't supposed to play a 12 bar blues, rockabilly or swing and add cool slaps on it, he already have great players doing that between Ryan, Nicolas and the others . it's not how i'd play with a band, there's really too much going on. cheers
my favourite Band that thomas has worked with called the astro zombies has some awesome bass playing....actually kings of nuthin kicks ass! and he's not doing all the wierd shit you see him do in this video.....this video is awesome because he's showing crazy speed and agressive playing....psychobilly.....if you're a slapper you know what psychobilly is and there couldn't be a better player to portray psychobilly in a couple of minutes.....great player!!
i'll agree with both sides of this arguement that's been going on here.....depending on how you're looking at it.....if you're looking for a cool bass groove, there's a bit too much pull offs and slapping going on here......if you're looking for unique technique (cool rap line)......then this video is pretty cool!.....Djordje is trying to show different styled bass players who have made a good name for themselves, and thomas definitly works hard enough to earn a spot here.......
There's a whole lotta sand down below. I love how some people have to over compensate for their shortcomings by insulting others. Go hug it out with Ken Smith.
THOMAS! We just opened up for The Surf Rats last month and they were great. Thomas playing was insanely great. They are top notch guys with great attitudes.

There's no music value in this crap. Sad to see someone do to slap bass what heavy metal guitar players did to rock guitar. Useless show of - not very impressive - technique. Wanna see technique that matters, check out Django. This is not worth listening to.
@rockabilly1376 Someone needs to become a more rounded musician... like yourself... this is just as impressive as anything else out there, just different. It takes talent to do anything on an instrument. You may not enjoy this style, and that's perfectly fine, but don't go knockin' it and saying it's 'crap' when the 'crap' of the matter is that you don't understand something. nuff said buddy.
@TheRroocckkeerr ohh. how sensitive and democratic. A lecture from a guy without any understanding of music. Someone had to say that BS. It's the same line all the time to defend something like this. It most certainly does not take "talent" to do "anything" on an instrument. You only have to move your arms and fingers to do "something" to an instrument.
@rockabilly1376 your right its not talent but it is skill and it is good. music moves in all different directions Thats what keeps it alive and like it or not this is music.
