  • Gawd, back in the good old days when you could literally set your watch by the TV (and your VCR). Nowadays the scheduled times are all over the place, and you're still lucky if the bastards start within 10 minutes of it.

  • To say it Play School style, the big hand is on the 12, so that means it's something o'clock, and the short hand is on the 11. So it's 11 o'clock on the ABC clock.

    Sometimes I miss the clock.

  • @sygo7g The music is "Strident Theme" by Francis Monkman, from the Bruton library.

  • i really dont know why.. and does anyone notice how back then how abc tv was particularly poorer than the other stations at that time?? Probably because its a government owned station

  • How? I think they did this as intervals before they put ads to waste the time.

  • What was "SMEDLEY'S WEEKLY"? I'm intrigued!

  • AAAARRRGHHHH!!! This tune was used for an ORACLE teletext ad in the UK, in 1984.

  • @tsangari ABC also used a section of it in the promotions anywhere from 3:57 to the end of the song.

  • Yeh the music is great here. Would be good if somebody knows who the group are.

  • Maybe it was a group of session musicians that composed for the British ITV library trade music (I heard it was on a teletex ad for ORACLE).

  • Much better than internal ads for merchandise from the ABC shop!!!

  • But I guess that's the way of the world these days... the ABC probably secretly wants ads in their shows.
