  • CYMRYY AM BYTH!! CARU CHI CYMRU!!!<3<3<3

  • The Cornish: Conquered, their language almost extinct

The Bretons: Driven out, persecuted for their language and culture in France

The Cambrians (closest brothers to the Welsh): Murdered by Saxons and Scots, every last one. Near enough no trace of them remain

The Welsh: Persecuted and subjugated, murdered in the thousands. Language almost erased, culture little known

But After everything that we have suffered we are here. Yma o hyd, byddwn bob amser fod yma. Cymreig am byth. Brythoneg am byth.

  • Bad man song

  • 3Tangle3, they only come down for the summer time the never settled in our country, or least not much outside of Truro, which should have no English in it at all. But your right, we have to relearn welsh other wise we there will be trace of identity left of Wales, and when you getting your identity back is going to be like going back to the drawing boards like us Cornish and the Bretons. Long Live Wales

-ps also check out Wrth feddwl am fy Nghymru, another Dafydd Iwan song.

  • grt song -grt pictures -makes me proud to be welsh

  • @Porkchoppa76

    Lowena dhys!

    Greetings from Cornwall.

It is nice to see someone with both faith and learning.

I am sending you a friend request - please approve it. It would be an honour to have someone with your understanding as a friend here on Youtube. Between the Zionists and their Occult backers almost the whole world now lives in tyranny once again. It will therefore soon be time again for us Brythons to intervene again as was foreseen in the words that inspired this song.

  • Thanks for this. It actually made me cry. Never forget how beautiful our country is.

And what a fantastic a little country we are.

That's the nice thing about welsh patriotism, unlike other countries patriotism. It's not about being better than anyone else. It's about loving our little country and people.

  • @ferryboy exactly but so many people dont realise this, the welsh culturally were part of a past interlinked atlantic seaboard with good links with the rest of europe...we are no isolationists

  • Mae popeth yn iawn yn Ngymru.

Dialedd i yr saes, fi'n gweud!

  • @yippitydodah

    diawledd i'r saes, even.... oops

  • COFIO TRYWERYN :) <3

  • I ni yma o hyd bobl :) Ferch or oed 13 ydw I, ac rydw I yn caru'r can yma. Mae angen I fwy o bobl siarad gymraeg I gadw'r iaith yn fyw, wel dyna beth mae fy athrawes yn ei ddweud. Cymru am byth pobl :) <3

  • @Porkchoppa76 - Yes it is the opposition of the Zionist Khazar 'Jews' to the fact that the Bruts of Layamon and Wace and the existence of the Colbren/Kolbrin prove the true origins of Cymru/Khumri and the other Brythons such as the Cornish. They will do everything to destroy this truth. They will fail as have all before them and I truly believe that they will reap only the Wrath of God. I do not and nor will others envy them in the end. It is telling that we Brythons talk in 2011 of this here

  • @Porkchoppa76 Sorry, don't have the time for conspiracy theories today. Must attend a seminar on the benefits of multiculturalism before taking some time out to contemplate the shortcomings of the bible. Now, where did I put my kippah?

  • dont think i'd do it proud on the kareoke though

  • what a tune

  • We (with Welsh and Breton help) have now revived Cornish to the point where it is officially accepted by the UNESCO World Atlas of Languages "Unesco is pleased to acknowledge that the term extinct does not reflect the current status of the Cornish Language". The Cornish language has officially been revived. Now we must all learn it and teach it as Rhisart has shown it can be done.

  • @3tangle3 - Please all Welsh listen to 3tangle3's words as they are true. Cornish language never totally died but it went to the verge of extinction and dont underestimate the difficulty bringing a language back from the very brink as has been done with Kernewek.

  • Welsh born and bread people can't be arsed to learn the language!! People need to stop pointing fingers learn the language teach your children and hopefully it will get better!! Cymru Am Byth a gobeitho fydd Cymraeg yn byw am byth!!

  • @SaintsAlun12 dwin cyntuno'n llwyr.....stop blaming each other and send your kids to welsh school...who cares what ancestry you have....variety makes the world interesting :)

  • @SaintsAlun12 attacking the state is fair game.....i love this island and the decent ppl here :)

  • @scottiehypnosis01

Not being funny mate but it's not the English government it is the British guess what there are Welsh people in the government also not just Welsh villages also English villages, I'm welsh and proud but with a strong English background but lived in Wales all my life so used the the hassle of being an English fan in sports and just thought I'd say that the reason the language is getting stronger quicker isnt because the people come here and speak English but the fact that the

  • @SaintsAlun12 the english are genetically similar to the welsh......the english once spoke welsh type languages before a few thousand germanic raiders took over....wake up!!

  • Dont let the welsh language die or you will become like the poor cornish, overwhelmed by ignorant settlers....fighting for the right to exist and be recognised as such!!...hell even the name devon is from the old welsh "dyfnaint"........shouldnt we be told the truth ;)

  • @3tangle3 "Don't let the Welsh language die..." Rydym ni'n gallu cychwyn wrth ysgrifennu ein sylwadau yn Gymraeg! :-)

  • Mae'r cymreig yn gwybod pob gair o can hyn ond nid yw'r saeson yn, mae'r cymreig yn gwybod beth yw ystyr pob gair o can hyn, nid yw'r saeson yn :)

CYMRU AM BYTH AC YMA O HYD AM BYTH!!!

  • @emzyjones1 the english are in the main totally ignorant of any real history of this island both culturally and the irony of our collective genes. I am having to relearn my mother tongue thanks to the actions of the english state..........my family was kicked off land at "mynydd yr epynt" having been promised to return.... ond dan ni'n dal i aros.....ond ry'n ni yma o hyd!!!!

  • Welsh And Proud!

  • @SwanseaCityNo12

We should start singing this down the Swans!

With all the anti-Welsh comments coming our way since promotion, Yma O Hyd, or "We're still here" would be a good message to send them!

  • fy narn gorau i 'di 'Iaith Gymraeg yn fyw', mi fydd o! Cymru Am Byth!

  • In memory of Daidi (nowie royal oak) this was his fave song xxx

  • I love Wales :) The Welsh language and spirit lives on!

  • What do they sing about? Its such a beautiful song :) But I dont understand a word. :(

  • @junimond7 bascially 'for the worst of everyone and everything - we are still here' and you or any good man and women are welcome to join us :)....my great gran was monoglot yet I am having to relearn :(

  • Uffar o gan :) sais, Fwkiwch oma yn meddwl dachin wbod bob dim!

  • My Taid used to tell me stories about the Welsh Not when he was in school absolutely disgusting. hundreds of years of oppresion and we are told to "grow up" and "forget it" The Welsh will never forget! Fe Godwn Ni Eto!

  • I knew Cayo Cos and Tony Lewis , Gethin ,only Gethin still alive now ,but now the Welsh have a little more power. I just hope that powers that be use it well for the good of all the Welsh people, and If NOT! FE GODWEN NI ETO , WE SHALL RISE AGAIN ! Be sure of that !

  • Also child abuse , to hang a wooden board around the neck of a child with the letters WN , whcih was Welsh Not , All because of a child that spoke his or her own welsh Language in there own country. and the child who was left with it at the end of the day would get the cane.

This was done by england the country that goes around the wolrd talking about Human rights. what a fking joke

  • @scottiehypnosis01 in flintshire / sir fflint.....they used iron wieghts around little kids necks as a welsh knot

  • ASk your self would the courts of human right let things like the flooding of a village that were the homes and working land of people, and then while these cuts were still wide open ,go and dig up graves of there relatives last resting place and flood there valley ? Well Liverpool did this with the blessing of the english goverment.

  • Its Time the people of Wales woke up and take back what the english have taken from us over the years. FE GODWN IN ETO

  • amser iddo roi gora i ganu bellach!!

  • im crying every time i hear this song :( I love you wales!!!

    cymru am byth!! <3

  • Gwych! Bwriadu canu`r hynn at fy angledd i!

  • F W A

  • some of these comments are ridiculous, unfortunately most are from the welsh speakers... "dwi'n cytuno efo chi ond..........mae rhaid i ni ennill annibyniaeth cyntaf"i take it you have no idea what financial burden would be put on us if we had our own government , no financial backing from westminster would leave us in ruins, we already have the poorest areas in the UK as it is,yet independance would practically make us 3rd world. Ive posted in english so that everyone can understand

  • @nickphonewarehouse Wise words listen you Welsh twats

  • @nickphonewarehouse Please get over the tired old "Wales is too poor" argument and ask the question that so many miss. Why is Wales the poorest region in these isles? How has the Republic of Ireland managed to surpass Wales' economic performance when we have the great boon that is Westminster to guide our way?

Time to wake up and smell the coffee. The UK stymies Wales' economic performance by providing uneven playing field in which all the inward investment gets sucked up by London and the SE.

  • @nickphonewarehouse A Welsh government with the ability to borrow (and therefore invest in large infrastructure projects) and with control over macroeconomic policies (being able to vary corporation tax etc.) would go a long way to redressing the imbalances the UK has created. Whether that means total independence of Westminster or not I leave for others to decide.

  • Cymru Am Byth

  • Dros rhyddid...

  • welsh young men who were conscripted to the english army to fight in the pointless WW1 were routinely called backwards and peasants if they couldnt speak english. (monoglots ppl)........they laid down their lives for what?

ITS BETTER TO DIE UNDERNEATH A WELSH SKY THEN AT THE SOMME OR GALLIPOLI

  • @3tangle3 Why dwell in the past mate?? There'll be another WW to worry about before long by the looks of the world!

  • @BuddyTwiggy Why stir negative pessimistic shit? you need to know history to understand why causal events have led to the present....

  • @BuddyTwiggy time is a human construct.............its doesnt matter how long ago it happened it still was done by humans on this planet under the same physical laws governing it.....we must not let these things happen again

  • @3tangle3 my ancestors are some and for what? We deserve respect!

  • @TheDaiboy just got to spread the historical truths. The ppl over the border are terribly ignorant of history and have a perception of wales which is not true....the welsh were/are some of the most progressive ppl on the planet until hundreds of years of stiflement makes ppl worn down and lacking the get up and go we need :)

  • @3tangle3

Y gwir yn erbyn y byd!

We're not all ignorant over this side of the hill. Some sympathies run deep.

  • @TomBedlam777 wel diolch :) sorry I was generalising mate, some great ppl come over the border to stick up for the culture...........I studied genetical histories.....most english especially western ones had relative who spoke a brythonic language...make you think what are the british...current one rammed down our throats is that we all loyal to a modern state. I am my own person first then part of the human collective lol ;)

  • Scarlets am byth!

  • If an Englishman says anyone who speaks english ...is english.

    He is labelled a Liberal

  • How long will it be before the Welsh find out how to use toilet paper ?

  • @blockthehood

Cer i grafu, without toilet paper.

  • @brethynda123 The Taffy who makes even the Irish seem bright

  • @blockthehood hey, atleast their language is an actual language, instead of copying other's. now fuck off.

  • @flashash2k9 This is the view of the great uneducated

  • @blockthehood uneducated? basically you really could not think of a come back. so you tried to imply that having a go at a language, which was made entirely out of other language's, is the view of the uneducated. well done, aren't you a special little person, no go sip on some tea, make you feel much better about you pathetic little life.

  • @flashash2k9

Please, take my advice posted below.

  • @brethynda123 i find it rather fun to annoy, those who are dumb enough to mock a whole nation.

  • Does anyone know how to get the sheet music to this song? Preferably for mixed choir. Thanx.

  • @kemathenga

Datydd Iwan wrote and sung this song as a song - but whether a choratic arrangenment was made for it, email him. Google for his homesite and send him a message. He'll reply, no doubt.

  • @closertofiftythanyew Oh, wow, thank you, I'll try this. I know there are choratic arrangements. I have one version with a mixed choir and one with a male choir as mp3 files, but I have a tiny dream of interesting my own choir into singing it, sometime. Only, of course, they'd have to learn to pronounce welsh - but it's easier for Germans than for English, I guess.

  • @blockthehood But I am, sir... I was born in Wales, I'm currently living in England to look after my Grandfather. So again, yet another irrelevant point :) x

  • Mr murraymint is SPAM

  • Having spent 3 weeks in backwards smelly Wales I realize how lucky I am to live in England just like Mr MURRAYMINT HE WILL TRY TO DEFEND WALES BUT HE WILL NOT LIVE THERE

  • @blockthehood LOL you're pathetic mate :) I live here as my Grandfather is incredibly ill. I don' not live in Wales because I dislike living there at all.

  • FAMOUS WELSH PEOPLE ?

  • @blockthehood Tom Jones, Ryan Giggs, Rob Brydon, Anthony Hopkins, Paul Whitehouse, Huw Edwards on the News, Shirley Bassey, Bonnie Tyler, Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Joe Calzaghe. xx

  • @murraymint55 Just look at the list 1 BOXER 1 FOOTBALLER 8 ENTERTAINERS 1 NEWSREADER What does that tell you ?

  • @blockthehood That there are famous people that come from Wales. Yet again, another irrelevant point! haha. You asked if there were famous Welsh people, and I answered, all are known outside of Wales. So there you have It xx

  • @blockthehood Shane Williams (International Rugby player of the year). Colin Jackson, David Davies, Duffy, Cerys Mathews, Ioan Gruffudd, Mathew Rhys, Shirley Bassey, Dylan Thomas, Saunders Lewis, Bryn Terfel, Paul Potts, Alex Jones, Nigel Owens, Jonathan Davies, Imogen Thomas, Glyn Wise, Adolina Patti, Nye Bevan, Neil Kinock, Gwion Huws, Katherin Jenkins, Siân Lloyd, Ruth Jones, need I go on? How ignorant you are don't come to Cymru again you're not Welcome.

  • @adamjones416

    A few words of advice:

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and only annoys the pig.

  • @blockthehood Famous Welsh you may or may not have heard of: Lawrence of Arabia, Alfred Russel Wallace (originator of theory of evolution), Henry "i am a Welshman" V, Henry VII, Owain Glyndwr, Richard Burton, Roald Dahl, David Lloyd George, Nye Bevan, Bertrand Russell, William Grove (fuel cell), Dylan Thomas, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Jones, Sarah Siddons, R S Thomas, Peter Greenaway, Rowan Williams, Colin Jackson, Gareth Edwards, Ian Woosnam, Tanni Grey, Gwen John, John Charles (the gentle giant)..

  • @blockthehood more famous Welsh: Robert Owen (co-operative and socialist pioneer), Shirley Bassey, Barry John, Jimmy Wilde (greatest British + European boxer), Joe Calzaghe (2nd greatest European boxer), Ray Reardon, Michael Howard, Michael Heseltine, Geoffrey Howe, Roy Jenkins, Bryn Terfel, Ian Rush, Sir Geraint Evans, Llywelyn ab Iorwerth,, Hywel Dda (his enlightened laws and the rights of women were set back hundreds of years by the barbaric English), Richard Wilson (landscape painter)

  • @mizofan robert owen is a socialist legend

  • @3tangle3 Yeah, but he should still be better known. blockthehood had said Wales hasn't produced many famous poeple, but i think i've shown otherwise. The great Alfred Russel Wallace was influenced by Owen. Wallace has been terribly neglected, Darwin is world famous and yet people at Usk where Wallace was from haven't even heard of him. If Wallace hadn't written to Darwin before publishing, he would have become the sole originator of the theory. He had many strings to his bow, including politics

  • @blockthehood More famous Welsh: Julia Gillard (Australian prime minister), John Cale, Nicole Cooke (cyclist), Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Donald Davies (computer and internet pioneer), Laura Ashley, Catherine Zeta Jones, Tommy Cooper (comedian), Brian Josephson (Nobel prize scientist), Henry Stanley (explorer), Henry Morgan the pirate, Ryan Giggs, Neil Kinnock, Duffy, Clive Grainger (Nobel prize economist), Augustus John (painter), Carol Vorderman, St David, St Patrick..

  • @3DeepCuts haha dwin gwbod mae nhwn pathetic

  • Twat dafydd Iwan dwyn canaeon pobol erill. Tad Twm union!!!!
