2011 Honda CRZ Test Drive & Review

This bloke needs to get his facts right. The CR-Z does have stop-start technology but it DOESN'T have the ability to use the electric motor alone like the Prius does.

Secondly, the torsion bar rear suspension is a POS. The single biggest fact that caused universal criticism for the 8th gen Civic (EU) was that it was changed from the previous 7th gen independant wishbone to a new torsion bar rear axle.....as a result, handling turned to crap and the Type R was no longer as much fun to drive.

Sometimes you wanna get the jump on someone, and you can do that, in SPORT.

Mostly, though, you just wanna get to work, in comfort, safety and save money while doing it. You can do that in ECON or by gliding down hill with the 6 speed manual transmission.

My CR-Z gets 42 MPG on average. My GFs Prius gets 46.1. Here's the trade off: for 4 MPGs less, i get to drive a BEAUTIFUL car, and be able to HAUL ASS (at least in the first two gears) and be comfortable.

@sneakytouchyourplace your car is also a death trap with zero safety features. Cars are not allowed to be made that way anymore. I still own an 88 integra, zc motor and turbocharged and can easily manage 42 mpg...but it isn't safe by any means.

I don't understand. I put a d16z6 ZC from Japan into my 89 CRX. It's 2k lbs, has 140hp, and gets 40/45 mpg. This Hybrid only gets 31/37? And it doesn't even go as fast?

If you live by yourself or two people in the family i'm highly recommend this car, vs. prius u end up with 30k, this one will do that same plus it's smaller and easier to park in the city. My friend got one and we test drive it and I love it so much, but we need more side, so insight more of the kind for us.

31- 37 mpg, not bad; however, consider how simple it would be for Honda to add batteries to this and make it a super efficiency car. Plenty of room between the rear wheels. Really, just a matter of battery tech, becoming affordable.
