  • The perfect zanshin kata!

  • Shotokan Sux no comparison to Goju-ryu

  • @guizl13 Ignorance must be bliss. If you like Goju-ryu, go to a Goju-ryu video if you dislike shotokan.

  • @guizl13 your mum sucks

  • @guizl13 You are just on the wrong site then.

  • Much respect to the master, Kanazawa sensei. However, it's interesting when you compare it to Tsuchiya's electrifying performance of Sochin.

  • Much respect to Kanazawa sensei. Its interesting however, when you contrast this with Tsuchiya's Sochin.

  • whats his name?

  • I think this is a very good kata performance, but some very VERY (notice the very) minor mistakes, for example at 0:29 it should be a back stance but his left foot is very clearly turned, making it more like a Kibi or Sochi dachi stance. Anyway that is what my sensei taught me, but i know he is a 10th dan and it is a very impressive kata

  • I really respect this man and I'm from a different shotokan organization. How many masters actually have video of them performing all shotokan katas for everyone to view? Kanazawa has no hesistation showing the world karate via his own abilties.

  • The man sure can punch.

  • Kancho Kanazawa is amazing.Look at his execution of each technique.Complete relaxation and form. This is not Ballet as suggested. It is perfection of technique, what Kancho Kanazawa Teaches. He is a Master of Masters and respected y many Great Masters of all styles.

  • one of my favorite kata with kanku dai...I nicknamed that kata (sochin) the " goalie stance" kata because it looks like an ice hockey goalie making moves with his legs

  • I just love this kata. My favorite, tough and powerfull!

  • With even the slowest of his moves you can hear the jets of air being propelled by his various strikes XD

  • If ya does it correctly, both feet will be extremely tired. Good kata that trains ya knees as well. Strong and powerful.

  • this guy has the wrong job, had to do ballet

  • @itachi9601

this "guy" is on the 10th dan. something you will only get after a lifetime of training! and why should he do ballet?

  • @itachi9601 And would you like to show yourself performing it better?

  • nice!

  • awsome display by kanazawa sensei

  • Oss!

  • 1 kata mais ce n'est pas assez ryhthme

mais nous pouvons la meme pardon pour la vantardise

  • this kata is very hard on the legs

  • powerfull kata

  • we also have this kata in my style, but in his shuto uke (blocking shuto) his hand seems to "flop" into it.

  • @Jamesriotrawrbellion 10th dan

  • @hoboandjew even 10th dans make mistakes man.

  • Please make us a video of it so that we all can have some insight in how to improve our So Chin kata. TIA!

  • This is a response to SallyAloey

  • Stopping the martial arts was my worst mistake ever.

7 years of my life dedicated to this style and I still wish I could learn more and perfect it.

I think I will renew my training in solitude.

  • you can always go back to training. I can relate to what your saying I had to take a long time away from training I'm back in now it took some time to re-learn katas I forgot from being out but I'm glad I'm back in classes now.

  • @SenseiCampbell exactly, I needed 10 years break, and now I'm back. It feels good

  • I know how you feel, but you're still young I just returned to karate last year when I was 31, I was away for 12 years. It never really leaves you unless you really want it to. Is there a reason why you can't go back? I needed to come out of it, I had a lot of ego back in the day and joined the ministry to learn humility first. I'm no longer in ministy(church closed down) but I've returned to karate. You should find a good instructor in your art to maximize your training.

  • For some reason, at our Shotokan club we can choose any kata we want for our 2nd to 3rd dan grading.

  • hay hay hay. ;D 3

  • na, to us it's for second (2:th) dan

  • Of wich dan is this kata??

  • 4th dan

  • THANKS

  • Apart from this being a superb presentation of Sochin, shotokankataman gave a lovely overview of kata and their meaning and learning process. Thanks for the post!
