  • @moonchi1dt You gained nothing? YOU KEPT EVERYTHING! You can thank your fellow union members for everything you have today, every single benefit. YOU'RE WELCOME!!!!

  • @shellibells -- exactly!!

  • look, the retirees are gonna have to take some cuts. There are not enough current workers to support these dinosaurs.

  • @moonchi1dt ummm, you gained nothing? How about what you pay for health insurance? How about your company match and your pension? You think you gained nothing? Perhaps you should step outside of this union and work for another company for awhile and see how good you've got it. It's not necessarily always about GETTING something MORE - we are trying to salvage what we've fought for all these years!

  • @shellibells No, actually we gained nothing by going on strike. They didn't up their offer or change ANY of the provisions of our contract after we went on strike. We got the same deal after being on strike for 3 weeks that they were offering before the strike. All we did was lose 3 weeks pay and save the company millions on salary to all of us who were on strike.

  • This strike is ridiculous. Verizon is pissing me off. My parents both work for verizon in Tulsa. They are making my step-dad go to Pittsburgh until the strike ends and after that, they are going to lay-off 40% of the employees here by the end of the year and send the jobs to the Philippines. If that wasn't enough, they are MAKING my parents train their replacements...

  • @CpTNanaPanTs well they need to go back to school and get retrained to do a better job.

  • this company can be creating jobs in this economic climate but instead they want to claim victim! instead of looking like a powerhouse and a leader into the future they choose to look like cowards with tails between there legs saying they cant survive on record profits! you can only be rich if somone else is poor!!! No give backs to greedy whores!!!

  • I remember striking in 2000. We lost 3 weeks of pay and gained nothing. I realize we never would have had our awesome benefits without the union in the first place. But I think the strike was orchestrated between the union and Verizon Execs to save Verizon millions of dollars which only cost me and thousands of others 3 weeks wages and the contract didn't change any from what it was going to be before the strike.

  • @moonchi1dt i can totally see that. there is a union here locally that goes on strike like clockwork every year or two for a couple of weeks. I think it is connivance between the union leadership and the company so it doesnt comeout of the companies unemployment compensation fund.

  • Who sings the last song?

  • I was one of those people at the back that Chris Shelton was talking about...and now CWA won't even let me in...
