Well according to wikipedia before Ustad Fateh Ali Khan could complete training his son Nusrat, he died. After his death Ustad salamat Ali Khan,Nusrat's paternal uncle,completed training of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Yes Ustad is not alive physically but he is alive through his works. I believe he is one of the beat classical vocalist of the twentieth century.

Indeed Ustad Salamat is one of the best of the twentieth century. He was a 'Tayaar' classical vocalist. He used to sing with emotions in his renderings. Example is the Raag Malkaus he rendering with his son Shafqat salamt Ali khan. One can see that he is grooming his son. I hppen to be his Shagird.

that did not happen, ustad salamat ali khan sahab was born in the family of durpat singers , later on he adapted khayal singing, it is also said that he became the deciple of bade ghulam ali khan sahab at one point also, there is not connection between him and nustrat fateh ali khan sahab or ustad fateh ali khan sahab.
