  • Ok,the good side on your list, very original with some movies, the first places I agree, but Apt pupil ????? if you like the book you cannot like the movie, the end is TERRIBLE !!!!!! and in fact, its one of the worst adaptations,I love the book, and this movie suuuuuucks !!!! anyway,it's just an opinion, peace ...

  • what about the stand?

  • whos number 8 ??

  • @4nibal2010 Stand by me

  • I didn't really like Children of the corn.

  • Sleepwalkers sucked

  • Oooh and The Stand ! Awasom book and movie!

  • Dude you must have not seen "The Mist" "Rose Red" or "Storm of the Century" or they would have deff made the top of the list....3 of the best move Stephen King movies EVER !

  • @MikeyDesj I agree that Storm of the Century belongs on the list but Rose Red is good but is also a recycled version of the Shining.

  • I agree with most of your movies but there is one SERIOUS oversight. You forgot The Stand. It is definately one of the best film adaptations of a Stephen King book.

  • @purplepixie305 It's a miniseries, these are films.

  • @iAmGOD009 yeah, it is a miniseries, but so areThe Langoliers (#11) and It (#3).

  • FUCK YEA LANGOLEERS!!!

  • maybe not even in the top 10 but I Would have thought hearts in atlantis would have deserved to be included at least

  • Where's Christine?

  • @84randomdude Christine was not that good.

  • @biguy617 better than some of the movies here

  • Seth Green on It wtf!!!!

  • WHERE THE FUCK IS ROSE RED?! BEST FUKING MOVIE ON THE PLANET

  • my two favorites are the stand (epic long movie) and maximum overdrive (AC/DC music)

  • And btw The Langoliers are hairy space testicles with teth so I cant imagine why you put it on the 10th place but oh well, the only thing that are good about the movie is that it hooks you up and you have to watch till the end and the end is lame.

Anyways check it out if you are bored and except some over the top acting.

  • I know that this is your opinion but just for you guys to know Pet Sematary is one of his best and scariest novels.

I havent read the book but the movies is fantastic, the scenerey is very well delivered and it gives a creepy atmosphere, the acting is pretty good (its not Oscar ating) and the idea or the concept of having the ability to bring your loving family members from the dead is just creative, refreshing and original and the characters are cool too.

    Anyways check it out.

  • @krueger231 stephen king even said that he keeps pet semetary locked in a drawer, but IT is easily the best and scariest, i wanna read the book so bad but i hear it ruins the movie

  • Rammstein! :D

  • Children of the Corn deserves to be in top 5

  • anyway 2 stephen king reader is lawnmower man a good movie

  • This list is awful. Where is Christine? I'm just gonna hope that you haven't seen Christine, cause it definitely belongs in this list...

  • Maximum overdrive is the worst Stephen King movie i have ever seen in my live!

    And Christine is awesome!!!!!

  • As a long time reader of King novels and movie fan I must say your list is retarded.

  • The shining was a great book but i was dissapointed by the movie they changed the end to much

  • I disagree with this list for two reasons. 1 - I've only heard of half of these movies. 2 - This list is all scrambled and out of place.

  • needfull things and the graveyard shift are my favorite

  • you put green mile over shawshank redemption. cmonnnnnn

  • christine is by john carpenter you dumbfuck.

needful things should be on this list

  • @royalnaz1 stephen king wrote a book called christine in 1993, adapted into a film the same year. wikipedia

  • Were is Sometimes there come back ???????????

  • Hey You forget riding the bullet!

  • stand by me should have been number 1 -_-

  • OH COME ON!!!!! THE MOST HORRORIFIST IS "THE MISTERY OF SALEM´S LOT"(2004)

  • msjustberocknroll yes the mist was a really great flim and the funny part is the father the main guy was painting stuff from the dark tower books! Just a little side note!

  • very nice i watched quick sliver highway last night and loved it thanks you gave me ideas for some king books i havent read yet i wish they would make the dark tower books into a movie that would blow that teen bobber shit right out of the box! Bring Roland to the screen damn it!

  • WAT ABOUT THE MIST!!!!!! D:

  • no way was the Langoliers better then Christine, Fire Starter or Creepshow, none of which were even on that list

  • I agree with 1 & 2, but The Shining, and Carrie should be in the top five. Christine should be on the list.

  • the mist is the best

  • What no Christine thats my fav movie

  • I would have taken 'IT' out of the mix and replaced it with 'The Stand', but each to his own, I guess. ::shrug:: Still, the others are cool. :)

  • BOO! You have those 2 non scary prison films as 1 & 2?

    IT should be #1 !

  • You forgot "The Mist" which is a really great movie and great novel. And "Shining" only 10th ?! WTF ?? But yeah "The Green Mile" and "The Shawshank redemption" are amazing movies !

  • @MsJustberocknroll In case you and the other 18 people who voted your comment a thumbs-up don't know.....is that this is not a TOP 20 LIST, just 20 stephen's films put together in no particular order.

  • @Patches7034 0:01 to 0:05 is written "Top 20 movies".

  • @MsJustberocknroll This list may have been made before mist came out.

  • @biguy617 It came out in 2007 ! Perhaps He/She did not see it or like it

  • Its seems his monster movies are crap noone can make a realy good stephin king monster movie, but his dramas and chillers are the best just look at the shinning one of the best movies ever made by a brilliant director also shawshank. But his monsters movies suck either cos of the bad acting or special effects and crappy directors. The one monster movie which i thought they did well was The nightflier but it was more a detective movie.

  • You disgust not know stephen king carrie like putting nineteen and ten shining

first green mile? it is better

    fuck you

  • how is the shining number 10? WTF?????

  • You put Carrie as 19? And Shinning as 10? Really? Wtf!

  • No Cujo!!!

  • DIDNT KNOW HE DID THE RUNNING MAN

  • @supersayain9 stephen kings it only in 3 place what

  • mute before watching

  • Running Man?? Other than the title and the vague "game show for your life" concept the movie bears absolutely no resemblance to a Stephen King work. If I were SK I would work as hard as I could to remove any trace of involvement with this travesty. Ditto "Lawnmower Man"

  • did you get sleeping on slide 9????

  • like if you believe me i have seen stephen king in pizza hut because i live in maine

  • I never knew that both "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile" are based on novels by Stephen King.

  • Did you do one for the books?

  • how come 1408 wasn't there

  • Holy shit I dident know he wrote all of those.

  • CHRISTINE was the best - why is it not on this list?

  • so did children of the corn

  • pet sematary suked

  • Love of god people,

This is THEIR list. They put on what they thought were good movies. Not what YOU think was good, what THEY think was good. Thats why Christine isn't there, or Storm Of The Century. Maybe they juts didn't think it was good

  • wtf where is storm of the century ??? that movie can easy enter in list of 10 best movies of all tmes...perfect damn story...

  • ok what about DreamCatcher!? thats good right! cmon!

  • I always forget that Stand By Me is based on Stephen King work.

  • It is only number 3, because of tim curry. otherwise the movie would suck. Tim curry, made the movie awesome

  • storm of the century

  • Where the hell is "The Stand?" =O

  • Number 10 wasn't Stephen King. The REAL Stephen king movie was much better and any Stephen King fan would agree with me =)

  • green mile just dosen't have that ability to make you want to watch more than once or twice like shawshank does.

  • Needful Things and Firestarter are awesome too.

  • I can come up with at least 4 that would be better than The Running Man? Really? Tommyknockers, The Stand, Creepshow, The Mist, The Dark Half, Needful Things, Bag of Bones(and it hasn't even aired yet). Ok, maybe that is more than 4, which proves my point, The Running Man is a decent Arnold movie, but it doesn't belong on this list.

  • What about Rose Red? That was an amazing movie. That should be top 10

  • This list is pretty terrible. With all lists, you're going to get some deviation in opinion, but how the hell is The Shining, a work that is widely regarded as one of the finest works of horror in its time by a director considered to be one of the best of all time, rank lower than Thinner? I also think that The Dark Half is a great movie and should have been included, despite not being as well known.

  • So you have Maximum Overdrive, the Langoliers and Sleepwalkers on the list but not Christine? What the fuck?

  • @Idoloish : Heureusement il y a au moins Shining, Misery et Stand by me ( Fortunately, there are at least Shining, Misery and Stand by me!!! ) lol

  • @Idoloish Christine was directed by John Carpenter not Stephen Kings

  • @Idoloish True, and he forgot The Stand too.

  • I love barry pepper in the green mile XD

  • I love barry pepper in the green mile XD

  • u cant understand a shit about the place 20 movie

  • only 1 pic/movie? more description plz

  • Gotta hand it to the man...

Best story teller of our time!

  • where the fuck is The Stand

  • @metalhead99211 guess it came under tv drama not movie equally where is rose red

  • Carrie was a lot better then Pet Sematary and where was The Dark Half that was really good

  • Why is The Shawshank Redemption not on first place?

  • i love stand by me and Misery :)

  • I agree with this list :)

I hate Misery though, still love it couse im reading the book, gotta hate Annie Wilkes ;)lol

  • ¿and the thing?

  • shawshank redemption is my favorite. Stand by me deserved a better spot on this list.

  • where's the night flier?

  • Sleepwalkers was the biggest piece of shit. It made Maximum Overdrive look like The Shawshank Redemption. I hadn't seen it in years and watched it OnDemand. It was embarrassing to watch, it was so bad.

  • @donniedarkodevotte stephen king didn't have anything to do with sleepwalkers. In fact he never even finished writing the story it was based on

  • @PipBoyInfinite

Nothing to do with Sleepwalkers? He wrote the screenplay, which is pretty much the entire movie right there. A simple IMDB or Wiki check could have saved you from making such a blatantly incorrect comment.

  • @donniedarkodevott Right, sorry i offended you.

  • Carrie ranked lower than Silver Bullet, Maximum Overdrive, Cat's Eye, Running Man, and Quicksilver HIghway?

  • @EllieElaine1 The Mist was ok, not great

  • I don't count Green Mile and Shawshank as horror. Do';t know why they are in there, besides it being a Best Of :) King is at his best with Horror :D

  • The Stand? Tommyknockers?

  • IT, is my favorite ;)

  • why is there even a list. all steven kings movie are great

  • The Shining 10th!? and Cujo 4th!?

Shining is 10 times better than Cujo!

Shawshank shud be 1st, Pet Sematary shud be way higher too!

  • Misery is 100 % the best

  • Yo creo que The Shawshank Redemption es la mejor, despues The Shining y en tercer lugar The Green Mile

  • RUNNING MAN WAS VERY GOOD WHIT ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER

  • what about 1408 and the mist

  • tell me your joking thinner is on your top 20 and not the Stand

  • STEPHEN iS THE KiNG <3 Of Terror <3

  • soy gran admiradora de sthepen king, un saludo desde zacatecas, mexico

  • @valenzuela1998 YO TAMBIEN ADMIRO A STHEPEN ME GUSTAN MUCHO SUS PELIS, HACE UNA SEMANA FUI A ZACATECAS Y ES UN ESTADO MUY BELLO, SU GENTE MUY AMABLE, SU DULCE DE CAJETA ESTA SUPER RICO, QUE BUENO TENER ESAS BELLEZAS CERCA!!!!! SALUDOS DESDE EL DF

  • @ilovechristina4eva because it was awful

  • The Green Mile is just brilliant work - both the movie and the book. My all time favourite.

Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption and Heart in Atlantis (I can't belive it isn't here) are great too. I like The Langliers, even though is quite weird, and Misery scared the crap out of me xD

  • carrie for movie and it for book cuz of arms being torn apart in the beginning shinging was the most fammous back then but now it is children of the corn

  • carrie for movie and it for book cuz of arms being torn apart in the beginning

  • If there are true horror fans please PM me cuz I could use your help I will respond as soon as I see your message

  • carrie NEEDS to be in the top 3

  • IT the book was better than the movie the movie was a little lame

  • i agree, the green mile is the best

  • @labashzeer it made me cry a bit but it is one of the best!

  • Cujo before the Shining? Never!

  • where the hell is the mist

  • when I was child, I with father watched Maximum overdrive.

now I am 16 and I will look this movie again, because I was so exited

  • what about Crisistine!

  • White man from town says take it off. - Thinner

  • The Green Mile almost made me cry. The book as much as the movie.

  • WHAT ABOUT THE MIST I MEAN LIKE THE CRAZIEST ENDING

  • I agree at the top 3 man <3 but shining should be higher :)

  • The fact that Creepshow is missing from this list is blasphemy.

  • You TOTALLY missed THE STAND!!!!!!

  • I don't think Thinner and The Running Man should even be on there. Great books, terrible movies. The Shining should be up in the top 3, The Mist should have a high ranking, also 1408 even if it was mostly a greatly elaborated version of the short story, and what about The Dark Half? Or The Secret Window? Just suggestions in case you make an updated list some day. And was The Dead Zone on it? I didn't notice.

  • If you go for movies, The Shining has NO COMPARISON at all. It's a master piece itself, amazingly directed by the genius Kubric and with outstanding performances, specially from Jack Nicholson.

I personally didn't like The green mile when I first watched it; I had pictured all the characters so differently... and I think they left out many good parts.

  • I didn't like IT

  • @Allstarweekendfan95 I prefer the book a thousand times.

  • christine???

  • the mist was an ok movie the end bugged me but one that should have been on ther was the secret window now that was an odd movie but good.

  • the mist????

  • @BlestTheJediThug haha i was about to say that. i think the mist should be on here

  • Long live the King

  • YES! Green Mile is so awesome! Deserves to be number 1!

  • I could never decipher which should be number one out of the green mile and the shawshank redemption.

  • cujo sucks! it should be number one

  • I'm surpised that you have The Stand in there too!

  • I LOVE The Tommyknockers

  • IT IT IT IT ITTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • i saw almost all of those movies and im 10

  • Where is Dreamcatcher? It is definitely one of the top 5. How could that not be on here? I guess this is the video poster's top 20 and not the top 20 movies by popularity.

  • what abou the fucking mist!!!???!?!?!?!!?!? that was pretty fucking scary!!!! unless i am somekind of piss poor pussy who cant stand movies like that which i know im not

  • my personal fav would have to be It or In the Mouth of Madness

  • my personal fav would have to be It...don't hate

  • NO christine? jeeez

  • My favorite movies by him:

    The Shining

    The Green Mile

    Maximum Overdrive

    Cujo

    Creepshow

    Misery

  • Green Mile. #1 oh yes thumbs up to it

  • he Shawshank Redemption is #1 for sure

  • Uhhh, thanks for posting but now I feel like I just had dinner with a friend who really needs to get out more. Perhaps I missed something but where was Christine? And what about "The Stand?" Of course if you're simply sharing your opinion of favorite NOVELS, then I respect that. But were these ~ r e a l l y ~ your favorite film adaptations?

  • @TubeSteak007 FYI "The Stand" was not a movie, it was a TV adaptation (or miniseries).

  • i have seen: sleepwalkers, Carrie, silver bullet, maximum overdrive, quick silver highway, shining, running man, misery, cujo, it and green mile

  • carie sucked

  • Carrie, it, pet semetary, the langoilers, children of the corn, misery. tos are my favs!!! ( not in that order) thers thes one movie called " the evil dead" and stephen king wrote " the most ferociously original horror film of the year"... u know how when u wher kids it scared the crap out of u? thats how it is.

  • IT scared the fuckin shit outa me when i was little

  • @MrN0god what movie?

  • @SeanCarpenter20 I.T. lol the one with the clown

  • @MrN0god i think from that very movie, some people are scared shittly of clowns

  • @MrN0god hell me too

  • @MrN0god I only saw the first half when I was a lil kid, imagine how scared I was each bath time!

  • @MrN0god I watched it for the first time with my dad when I was about 6, he then took me to a carnival. I really really don't like my dad.
