Ok,the good side on your list, very original with some movies, the first places I agree, but Apt pupil ????? if you like the book you cannot like the movie, the end is TERRIBLE !!!!!! and in fact, its one of the worst adaptations,I love the book, and this movie suuuuuucks !!!! anyway,it's just an opinion, peace ...
Dude you must have not seen "The Mist" "Rose Red" or "Storm of the Century" or they would have deff made the top of the list....3 of the best move Stephen King movies EVER !
I agree with most of your movies but there is one SERIOUS oversight. You forgot The Stand. It is definately one of the best film adaptations of a Stephen King book.
TO ACCEPT JESUS INTO YOUR LIFE SAY THIS PRAYER WITH FAITH :) Lord God. I come to You a sinner and I humbly repent of my sins. I believe that Jesus is Lord and I believe You raised Him from the dead. I ask that Jesus will come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. I receive Jesus to change and take control of my life that I may live for Him from this day forth and from now on. Thank You Lord Jesus for saving me and cleansing me with Your precious blood. In Jesus name, Amen.
And btw The Langoliers are hairy space testicles with teth so I cant imagine why you put it on the 10th place but oh well, the only thing that are good about the movie is that it hooks you up and you have to watch till the end and the end is lame.
Anyways check it out if you are bored and except some over the top acting.
I know that this is your opinion but just for you guys to know Pet Sematary is one of his best and scariest novels.
I havent read the book but the movies is fantastic, the scenerey is very well delivered and it gives a creepy atmosphere, the acting is pretty good (its not Oscar ating) and the idea or the concept of having the ability to bring your loving family members from the dead is just creative, refreshing and original and the characters are cool too.
@krueger231 stephen king even said that he keeps pet semetary locked in a drawer, but IT is easily the best and scariest, i wanna read the book so bad but i hear it ruins the movie
msjustberocknroll yes the mist was a really great flim and the funny part is the father the main guy was painting stuff from the dark tower books! Just a little side note!
very nice i watched quick sliver highway last night and loved it thanks you gave me ideas for some king books i havent read yet i wish they would make the dark tower books into a movie that would blow that teen bobber shit right out of the box! Bring Roland to the screen damn it!
You forgot "The Mist" which is a really great movie and great novel. And "Shining" only 10th ?! WTF ?? But yeah "The Green Mile" and "The Shawshank redemption" are amazing movies !
@MsJustberocknroll In case you and the other 18 people who voted your comment a thumbs-up don't know.....is that this is not a TOP 20 LIST, just 20 stephen's films put together in no particular order.
Its seems his monster movies are crap noone can make a realy good stephin king monster movie, but his dramas and chillers are the best just look at the shinning one of the best movies ever made by a brilliant director also shawshank. But his monsters movies suck either cos of the bad acting or special effects and crappy directors. The one monster movie which i thought they did well was The nightflier but it was more a detective movie.
Running Man?? Other than the title and the vague "game show for your life" concept the movie bears absolutely no resemblance to a Stephen King work. If I were SK I would work as hard as I could to remove any trace of involvement with this travesty. Ditto "Lawnmower Man"
This is THEIR list. They put on what they thought were good movies. Not what YOU think was good, what THEY think was good. Thats why Christine isn't there, or Storm Of The Century. Maybe they juts didn't think it was good
I can come up with at least 4 that would be better than The Running Man? Really? Tommyknockers, The Stand, Creepshow, The Mist, The Dark Half, Needful Things, Bag of Bones(and it hasn't even aired yet). Ok, maybe that is more than 4, which proves my point, The Running Man is a decent Arnold movie, but it doesn't belong on this list.

This list is pretty terrible. With all lists, you're going to get some deviation in opinion, but how the hell is The Shining, a work that is widely regarded as one of the finest works of horror in its time by a director considered to be one of the best of all time, rank lower than Thinner? I also think that The Dark Half is a great movie and should have been included, despite not being as well known.
Sleepwalkers was the biggest piece of shit. It made Maximum Overdrive look like The Shawshank Redemption. I hadn't seen it in years and watched it OnDemand. It was embarrassing to watch, it was so bad.
Nothing to do with Sleepwalkers? He wrote the screenplay, which is pretty much the entire movie right there. A simple IMDB or Wiki check could have saved you from making such a blatantly incorrect comment.

Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption and Heart in Atlantis (I can't belive it isn't here) are great too. I like The Langliers, even though is quite weird, and Misery scared the crap out of me xD
carrie for movie and it for book cuz of arms being torn apart in the beginning shinging was the most fammous back then but now it is children of the corn
I don't think Thinner and The Running Man should even be on there. Great books, terrible movies. If you go for movies, The Shining has NO COMPARISON at all. It's a master piece itself, amazingly directed by the genius Kubric and with outstanding performances, specially from Jack Nicholson.
I personally didn't like The green mile when I first watched it; I had pictured all the characters so differently... and I think they left out many good parts.

Uhhh, thanks for posting but now I feel like I just had dinner with a friend who really needs to get out more. Perhaps I missed something but where was Christine? And what about "The Stand?" Of course if you're simply sharing your opinion of favorite NOVELS, then I respect that. But were these ~ r e a l l y ~ your favorite film adaptations?
Carrie, it, pet semetary, the langoilers, children of the corn, misery. tos are my favs!!! ( not in that order) thers thes one movie called " the evil dead" and stephen king wrote " the most ferociously original horror film of the year"... u know how when u wher kids it scared the crap out of u? thats how it is.

TubeSteak007 10 months ago
@TubeSteak007 FYI "The Stand" was not a movie, it was a TV adaptation (or miniseries).

@MrN0god I watched it for the first time with my dad when I was about 6, he then took me to a carnival. I really really don't like my dad.
