I saw this before when it was still playing the original Sorry track. Too bad to have it removed! Am so disappointed. This is the closest I can get to see and hear this vinyl playing. Love the color and the player as well..

Lovely deck. I bought one back in 1990, with any extra tonearm for 78's. Apart from a new stylus and having it converted from 240 volts (UK) to 110 volts (Canada), it has worked faultlessly ever since. A good purchase and well worth the money.
Any mechanical engineer will tell you that a series of spinning weights is inherently an unstable design unless everything is matched and positioned "perfectly". Don't shoot the messenger.
@thereelmaster direct drive motors produce a faint noise from what i understand. thats why any audiophile system is ALWAYS belt drive. direct drive is only really necessary for dj's anyways.
To afford one of these I would do just about anything. This is the sweetest piece of machinery in the history of electronics. Simply magnificent and better than sex!

Some turntable designs like this one just leave you wondering. Why would anyone use a series of spinning weights to add rotational inertia. This design is inheriently unstable unless the weights are identical and precisely spaced. Even then, total stability is not guaranteed . I guess its all about "the look".

I am in the music industry and the fact is Vinyl sounds better and a VPI sounds better than a Sony and a SME sounds better than a VPI. If you do not have the experience with both than keep your comments to yourself. I would never tell you a Toyota is better than a Ferrari but then again some things should be obvious.

Complete waste of money! once you hit the £500 mark on a turntable they are maxed out, anything above that will not sound any better.The trouble with audiophiles is that they dont really like music, they just like messing and tinkering around with the equipment. I agree to an extent that some are looking for the ultimate sound rather than the music, but I would like to say that, Given the money, I would love a good t/table! My current one is borrowed & worth about £700 It plays MY music very well. & if Mr Lottery pointed the finger at me, I would not even think twice about spending more on cables than you would on seperates! You get what you pay for & this really does include T/Tables! Just to discust you, Lottery win= £100,000 Hi-Fi!
its not cheap but you have to admire the craftsmanship that has gone into this turntable. simply stunning anyone that says otherwise should go and listen to a turntable like this and i promise you you will amazed by the sonic performance that they give.

Vinyl is analog and anything from a computer is digital so you are not hearing the TT no matter how new your PC is. Plus you're going from A to D and who knows how it was recorded. Sorry, there is no way you have any idea on how it sounds from "Youtube"

Firstly, you don't "here" things, you hear them. Secondly, USB to DAC is typically worse than an internal soundcard (ie Audigy).
Of course people can't differentiate between turntables on YouTube. It's impossible. The sound is made digital from an analogue source, compressing it and making it lossy.
It is, however, possible for us all to enjoy the Gyrodeck through video. Folks, wipe the drool off your keyboards. It is truly a work of art, and marvel of audio. :)
Buy a NAD5120. That probably fits your budget and it's a great value for the money. It's pretty noisy, because it's not shielded, but glueing aluminum foil to the inside helps a lot.

I used to own the same turntable and arm combo before downgrading to a Roksan Radius V. Biggest hi-fi mistake I've made yet. On the bright side though, its now been replaced with an Origin Live Aurora Gold and Conqueror Mk III arm which sounds better than the Michell ever did :)

One of the best looking decks to grace the island of Blighty. Even though i have an oracle + souther combo i still love this deck. Its the "super model" of tables.
Well it's not surpising that what you hear isn't what you expected. Firstly, the video was not intended to demonstrate the audio quality of the turntable but to show it in operation.
The reason the sound quality is poor is because YouTube process it so that its 64kbit/s mono. It has nothing to do with the hifi. I thought that this was obvious...
"Standard quality YouTube videos contain an MP3 audio stream. By default, it is encoded in mono at a bit rate of 64 kbit/s sampled at 22050 Hz, giving an audio bandwidth of around 10 kHz. The default bit rate delivers passable but not hi-fi audio quality."
The Madonna spoils it a bit for me too but I think we all have some guilty pleasures. I mean I'm not going to admit I bought James Blunt on 180g vinyl...Oops. I'm planning on buying one of these so they better sound as good as they bloody look!

chears . musical fidelity a32 driving a pair of gale 401s ( drives them pretty well considering there notoriety) pretty neutral sounding which i prefer as i only play vynil. my wife thinks im a bit of a nerd when i showed her your upload, i got a bit exited. ha!

Yes video was recorded with a Nokia N95 and audio was recorded from the tape out of the amplifier and using an Edirol UA-5 external soundcard.

You know, this song always bored me until I heard it on vinyl...the bass just sounds so much warmer, I like this song now but only when I hear it here! It's too "crisp" on the CD

One of the best looking decks to grace the island of Blighty. Even though i have an oracle + souther combo i still love this deck. Its the "super model" of tables.

Turntable looks nice and expensive, but sound quality is poor. Maybe because of the absence of room acoustic treatment.

Well it's not surpising that what you hear isn't what you expected. Firstly, the video was not intended to demonstrate the audio quality of the turntable but to show it in operation.
The reason the sound quality is poor is because YouTube process it so that its 64kbit/s mono. It has nothing to do with the hifi. I thought that this was obvious...

Ortofon Kontrapunkt B cartridge - £800
This is not what I paid though. I bought mine through a close friend who owns a London hi-fi shop so I got them at close to cost price.

You can things like the Madonna LP anywhere like Amazon. For hard to find records if you can't find it on Gemm then forget about it!

The Madonna spoils it a bit for me too but I think we all have some guilty pleasures. I mean I'm not going to admit I bought James Blunt on 180g vinyl...Oops. I'm planning on buying one of these so they better sound as good as they bloody look!

if a song like this is noise for you i would like to remember you that the lovin' spoonful in the '60s made a song where they included the noise of some works on the road in the middle of the song (it was summer in the city). Anyway great record player.

Most interesting (in a VERY good way) turntable.
I'll bet it sounds about as good as it looks ... maybe better.
I'll bet the posts on the bottom of the table are supposed to provide for greater rotational stability.

chears . musical fidelity a32 driving a pair of gale 401s ( drives them pretty well considering there notoriety) pretty neutral sounding which i prefer as i only play vynil. my wife thinks im a bit of a nerd when i showed her your upload, i got a bit exited. ha!

im useing dynavector dx 20 high output version with se/rb300, but sounds dull through mm in my amp the detail comes back on mc but the levels are way to loud .any recomendations?
