Who knows how much oil we have or when we will find a substitute??

While we are figuring out what else to do - The oil companies say they have the ability to refine much more oil than they are currently. And, Shell Oil says that refineries can be expanded rather quickly.

Don't buy into the hype about it taking too long. We must take responsibility for our energy NOW! The future of my generation depends on it!

I don't mind us drilling for our own oil but what do we do with it once it's pulled out of the ground? We lack the ability to refine it. Drill here, drill now and sit on it for 5-8 years until we can convert it to gasoline. During this time we see demand going up with more and more cars hitting the street of the world. Congressman Burton, I respect your service and what you have done while in Washington but we must move the subsidies from oil to alternatives. Oil will not be here forever.
