  • you make me sad for owning a tocoma

  • Who thinks toyota should put a 2jzTT motor in the tacoma? That would be fucking, EPIC!

  • i personally prefer to buy American and i am a jeep guy (bring it haters lol) but i have to admit the tacoma is a hell of a truck and i would be caught driving one.

  • plus he is not using snow tires!

  • Baltimore had a really bad snow both 2 winters ago and this past winter. They had to shut down the interstates and had 4-5 hour backups that were longer then i care to talk about. I was in my father's Tacoma which is completely stock and it handled as 40 degree incline that had been snowed over completely! There were full size trucks that were getting stuck and sliding off the road. This truck is an absolute monster!! I am about to buy one with a 3 inch lift.

  • Does the Tacoma's bed ever swing out/around when driving in the snow? I've driven a larger truck where that happens frequently in snow.

  • I have the exact same truck. My only regret is that I didn't get a 4x4. I got the prerunner double cab, long bed, sports edition, trd, but no 4WD. What's up with that?

  • I agree that the Tacoma is the best mid-size truck available. However, for all of you talking about safety. Who the hell cares its a truck and I dont plan on wrecking it.If you buy a truck for safety because you cant drive..your keys need to be taken away.

  • @demoneagle19 Who plans to wreck a truck? You might be a good driver, but there are plenty of bad ones out there getting ready to run into you.

  • love the color. JW- how cramped is it in the back considering it is the extended cab version??? Cus I like extended versions much better than full size

  • @Greenflames510 the extended can is good for kids up too teenagers i had a 98 im not sure how the new ones are but i figure its about the same

  • @Greenflames510 The rear seats on the extended cab are a TOTAL JOKE. they are small, cramped, stiff, and not ergonomic at all. I can't sit on them for more than maybe 20-30 minutes before my butt is dead asleep. That is my ONE COMPLAINT other than the lack of an 5.7L V8 option...

  • lol u think thats snow..... imagine it up to the middle of the grill w/ a 3" lift..... i drove through that shit the other day..... lets just say the truck started moanin a little lolol

  • I have a question...Now it's no surprise to any of us that japanese make better cars and suvs than american....But I am looking for a good general off roader and i am curious. Do the japanese make tougher trucks than us as well? All opinions are helpful, please do not fight.

  • @pgracerkodi ive had a 2001 tundra and i now have a 2005 tacoma and i have beat the hell out of them on and off road and they withstand everything i put them through. and they still hold better value than the domestics.

  • yeah, they always have, people still go mudding in they're old toyota pickups with only 4 cylinders outperforming the huge K5 blazers and broncos. 4-runner is also a legendary off-roader. Back in the Day, toyota's came lifted from the factory because they knew of it's off-road potential.

  • tacoma rocks

  • Nice color, great video.

  • ive taken my car through worse (it was a lease haha)

  • want a cookie?

  • i love toyota trucks sooo much, except for the newer ones. Why did you have to ruin them toyota WHYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they new tacomas are sweet but i don't care for the tundras

  • WOW!! lotta F150 bashing! I could pull you through that in park .

  • u can go through the snow on anything, u need two things first: clearance and tires.

  • they should make a v8

  • I gotta 06 Taco TRD 4x4 Dbl cab with a 6'' lift and a TRD Supercharger, with 35'' BFG Mud Terrains and I love it! Fuck american trucks! If they'd build something worth a shit I might buy one...

  • Personally I feel the Tacoma strongly deserves the rank of #1 truck. I work at a driveline shop rebuilding trannies, diffs, and T-cases all day and i see a Taco MAYBE once a week while Fords and Chevys are in there four and five times a day! Most of our business comes from Dodges though ; D (by the way, the '09 F-150 is total SHIT. we've dealt with three of them now and they're only like 6 months old! My 95 Taco has never been in a shop, and I abuse it!

  • I'm so glad to see someone actually appreciates Tacomas. Many people underestimate the reliability of Toyotas like those fat fags that buy big dodge rams and F-350s they just want to feel cool and tough because they have a big heavy truck to support their fat asses.

  • every vehicle has it's place(except the prius) the thing is that 95% of large trucks ie: silverado/f150-350/RAM are used as glorrified grociery getters! so thats what they're being built for! the tundra is the only full size truck that can tow, hit trails, haul loads, cruise, AND survive a real working environment!. the taco is even more durrable as the tundra, but just smaller. no recent american vehicle has/will ever be as usefull as the toyota tundra and toyota tacoma.

  • you toyota kool-aid drinkers are just funny.

First off, the Tacoma is a good 1/4 truck, but the Tundra is perhaps the poorest performer of all the major 1/2 tons. It's practically dangerous when loaded. Ford clearly leads in 1/2 ton pickups.

Let's just get down the brass-tax here, you're bashing America, not domestic automakers.

And by your logic sports-cars are pretty much rendered entirely impractical, which they are, but that's not really the point is it.

  • For what I use my truck for, i need something that isn't going to be breaking down. Dodge SURE AS HELL cannot deliver that. the closest thing to Toyota in reliability, is Chevy, and they're still a WAYS off. Ford is pretty much in the middle-they suck, but at least they aren't Dodge.

  • Chevy is more reliable? Not what I heard, but then I don't own a truck yet. I'm just trying to find out all that I can. I'm still partial to the Tacoma because its more reliable than the American stuff.

  • Chevy is better than Ford as far as drivetrain goes. At least, we have to fix fewer GMs and Chevy's than Fords or Dodges.( I dunno, maybe Ford guys just really like us and Chevy guys go elsewhere)

  • @meandmyevo but ford has a better crash test rating even though they are a poorer quality truck......

  • @phrawgg2 It terms of small-midsize puckup trucks....

Well its debatable. Toyota has been having trubble with the accelerator pedal.... Chevy's Colorado has terrable crash ratings.... and if you dont get the V8, you have to get a 5??? With ford, its either the ranger or F-150.... If you like Japanese tho, try nissan frontier. If you like the tacoma looks, but the nissan power, try the suzuki equator

  • @Greenflames510 the problem with the accelerator pedal was only on cars and family suv's such as the Sequoia. the Tacoma did not have this problem. its also not only about looks; the Tacoma will last much longer than the nissan and suzuki, maybe even combined.

  • @anthony94toyota i read some of the tacomas had a recall where the floor mat could get stuck on the pedal!!1 but then again u'd have to be pretty stupid for that to happen. GO TACOS!!!

  • @Greenflames510 not to be rude but imma correct you alittle the Tacoma did not have any recalls you were right on the colorado it does have poor safety ratings and the 5 is rediculous and you were right the frontier does have more power however the Tacoma can pull more and has a higher payload and the Tacoma is lighter and the Tacoma earned a good saftey rating which is the highest

  • @phrawgg2 If your thinking about buying a colorado just fyi it got a poor saftey rating and my uncles engine locked up after 4 year and my Tacoma had 140000 was 12 years old rolled and still started up and would run redline no problem i know it would run redline because insuance totaled it so i drained oil and blew engine but it ran for 12 on redline without oil

  • @phrawgg2 BUT THERE MADE IN AMERICA!!!!! YOUR SCREWED!!!

  • you could just watch the advertisements about the new ford trucks being descendant from god, and how toyota is total communist shit, but at the end of the day, I don't have to fix 50 dead toyotas every week, that award goes to Dodge, Ford and Chevy in that order.

  • Never had a problem with my Ford F-150, your broken-record response about Toyota is both uncreative and not very strong given today's problems with Toyota. It will also not change the great reliability I got from my Ford truck.

As for "communist", who the hell calls the Japanese communist? I think you're thinking China...haha

  • what exactly do sliding floor mats and unconfirmed sticking pedals have to do with whether or not you're going to break your shit when you get off the road and into the mud and rocks?

also, what do you use your truck for? I've never seen one break from being driven to and from the store, no doubt there.

  • i've loaded my Tundra with over a Ton. The suspension was bottomed out, but it drove to the destination with no difficulty, the locking torque converter really helps and the engine could handle it better

  • @eduardosantacruz you can get heavier suspension for the rear end, put it RIGHT up into the league of the F150 for payload, and it will STILL last twice as long.

  • Agreed to a point. I'm still a big fan of the Tacoma, more so than the competitors, but I agree with you about everything else. Ford is catching up in quality btw. GMC is still crap.

  • @punksnotdead543 so true!!!!!

  • @meandmyevo hey when you say most of the business comes from Dodges, do you mean newer ones? just curious.

  • @DetPaul187 Actually, it's a very broad range of years. Pretty much anything '94 and newer is total shit. Now I've seen these things go over 200K miles with few problems, but I've also seen brand new ones head in for warranty repairs not a month after being bought. Both of these cases are EXTREMELY rare though. For the '94-'03, most of the MAJOR problems start popping up right around 100-140K. The '02-'08's get their big problems a bit sooner, in the 80-120K range.

  • @meandmyevo I have to agree. My dads 05 trd tacoma has 90,000 miles on the same clutch and he beats the piss out of it. Great truck, I have a 2010 pro4x nissan titan and I hope I have the same luck as him

  • @meandmyevo That's so true dude. I am the second owner of a 1993 Toyota pickup with 200,000 miles and I take it off road all the time. I've owned it since 2000. The only problems I've had is replacing the cv boots and cv axles once, and a U joint. The front torsion bars are tightened to lift the front end and that wears out cv boots faster. I think I am going to upgrade to a 2005 or newer Tacoma.

  • @meandmyevo Very true, too bad people have that buy American mentality, even when some things just are outdone, and they don't like the fact that superiority is coming from a Japanese brand.

  • @meandmyevo i drive a 96 Taco, 3.4 5 speed and i love that truck, it's never given me any problems other than a radiator leak which was an easy fix. but in the American truck's defense i've never really seen anyone haul much with a tacoma while Chevys and Dodges are hauling fifth wheels and what not it's alot of stress on the driveline and chassis. but Tacoma's are most definately the best pickup ;D

  • @meandmyevo I totally agree. Last spring, I needed a truck for my lawn service. I needed something that could take a beating, tow a heavy trailer, and last for a long time. Couldnt afford a tundra and the f150 seemed built more like a car, so I went with a base 4x4 regular cab manual tacoma. Best purchase I have ever made.

  • what truck doesn't spin in snow and mud ruts?

  • its ALL about the tires.

  • What car do you drive?

  • What? are you kidding? My tacoma is unstoppable in the snow, please.

  • baloney!!

I heard alot of familys sold tacomas cuz they were a peice of crap in the snow, even if even you have 4x4, maybe its just because you dont know what kinda car your driving!!!

  • Well, he's the one driving it so clearly he knows more than you. My TRD Tacoma is a beast in the snow, on the grass, and everywhere else. Thanks for your 2 cents though Mr. Expert, keep us all updated on what you hear a lot of families are doing.

  • what!!!

    pa lese!!

I dont even think you know what a toyota is Mr I know everything more than you. TheFlying Cougar

  • Tacos are fine in the snow. If you have a locker, even in 2wd, i get around allright in the snow and ice. 4x4 i have no problems at all

  • The vehicle has nothing to do with snow. A 4X4 can not be good in mud and rocks but bad in snow. That is impossible. TIRES make the difference, not the car. thumbed down your stupid comment

  • do you have the e locker in the rear of that?

  • im from the country and we mud ride wen we get stuck theres usually a place with traction to get pulled out...how the heck u get out of snow if u get stuck?

  • when you get stuck in snow your frame is off the ground so you have to dig it out and usually clear a place to get a run for momentum which you need to blast through deep snow. i love snow way more than mud it doesn't hurt your truck or your path snow covered roads are alot of fun too.

  • awesome, i bought an 06 tacoma crew cab the same color. mine is the trd offroad edition with rear lockers. i love my truck

  • look like u have fuckin fun!

  • just bought mine like a couple days ago and the color is gray black . the new color of toyota i think . its so nice :)

  • i like your tocoma

  • LOOKS LIKE FUN
