This was the song that made me become a christian last year!!!! I never knew what song it was called until literally yesterday, I was in the car and I was saying how I didn't want to go to church anymore because I had school and I didn't have time. Then the song came on in the radio and everything kind of stopped, and I was like wow... <3 I'm still going to church, and I plan to for the rest of my life. :)

No sign of a god, before, during or after, natural disastres B) The absolute absence of favoritism towards believers. Even chruches need lightning-rods to protect them from god. C) The absence of any reaction, when crimes are committed in his name. D) The suffering of the innocent. One could accept that the guilty must suffer, but children ???

If his not, it doesn`t make any sense, to pray for rain, or health, or anything in this world. If he does, why doesn`t at least spare the innocent. @tallliza God can control the elements, of course. He also allows them to go as they will. He COULD control us, but He gives us free will. It is a matter of setting things in motion. If we never experience hard times, we will never know we need Him. If you ever look at any revival of Christianity, you will see it usually follows something happening, be it negative or positive. When we get too comfortable, which the old testament is all about, we become complaisant.
@tallliza I can show you the scriptures, which is what Israel seems to teach us time and again, where we are given free reign to worship Him or not Worship Him. When we begin to rely too much on ourselves, we place ourselves back into the whirlwind of "wherever the wind blows", and it surely blows..lol. However, when we place our trust and faith in God, it does not change the whirlwind, it changes us, and how we view things. I will give an example in next reply...LOL.
@tallliza Rereading what you wrote, I ask who is innocent? With that said, you remember one of the replies to you was a person saying how they are blessed...so they know there is a God or some such. I remember your reply but not so much what he said, and do not feel like searching it..LOL. Anyway, the truth is, he changes US, not things, not people around us. @tallliza Paul had it all as Saul...say that 10 times...but he counted everything as dung compared to receiving Christ. He was stoned, he was beaten, he was imprisoned, he was tortured, and eventually his head was cut off. He is an actual figure in history. Through that, he didn't care. He knew what he had in Christ. He was happier with Christ, even with all of his trials and tribulations, than he was without Christ, living it up so to speak. Why?
@tallliza I fear you will quickly become frustrated trying to convince those of us that have had an actual experience with God, that He does not exist. All the facts of science that most do not know, will mean nothing to them compared to their experience. All of the misquoting of the bible, or even the bad religion out there, wont mean a thing compared to an experience with Him. Non-believers consider themselves enlightened, and I understand that. They however are not. I wasn't, thought I was.

@tallliza I know a young man, 90% of his body is burned and scarred. He has many more surgeries to endure. His parents were angry at God. He went to church regularly, and loves it. We were talking, and he told me his scars were a blessing, even though someone told him they were not. I asked him why he thought that. He said he couldnt put it into words, but knew God had plans for him. He is a happy guy, no bitterness, no worries. He knows God is there. His parents are now in church. Experience.

@tallliza Actually the Jews did understand we had an eternal soul. Moses wrote the majority of the old testament, he understood what the soul was. In fact, he understood what science is just now catching up on, as far as the swirling matter becoming a part of everything in the universe. Look how he describes creation. We must trust him in the good as well as the bad. And as for saying science did all that good..? Where did the scientists get their knowledge? A blessing from god. If the only thing God and prayer is good for is giving hope, well then you have said all that needs to be said. The only thing we have in this life is hope, hope of something better when this body is laid down. If someone has tried to share that hope, which is in Christ Jesus, then you know that they care enough about you to at least try to share this Hope. All I know is that when I fulfill the second of the two great commandments, which is to love thy neighbor as thyself, at least I am trying.

@optionaxis Religion, all too often gets in the way. Church's are split because of religion and doctrine. The most important thing you need to know is that God loves you. The Bible does not say come to me through religion, but rather; John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

I can quote scripture as well. I know plenty of verses. The thing about the personal relationship with god I don't believe. It's easy to say you feel something because you're supposed to feel it. You think there is something there when there isn't. I'm not an atheist, I'm more agnostic. I was brought up with religion, the whole deal from before I can remember.

when you have been around as long as I have you can look back and see when God didn't answer a prayer it turned out for your best in most situation.
Even when there wasn't any real relationship with God I prayed that there would be. I did everything I could, nothing. I'm open minded, I'm not afraid to go against something I was taught to believe. There just wasn't anything backing it.I mean I had a personal relationship with God in terms of believing there was somebody there on the other end of the phone and talking to them, actually believing they were seeing all and hearing all. If I pray to a rock I have the same chances. 50/50
@optionaxis Here's a book that really helped me when I couldn't figure out why I was missing the relationship with God. It's called "Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God" by Henry & Richard Blackaby. I do have relationship with God, I just didn't know how to recoginize it. He continues to bless me with spiritual growth. You can know all the scriptures and know about God, but come judgement day, you want to be sure He knows you! Blessings to You!

I'm not going to waste my time reading a book trying to convince myself of that. When you pray to god, if you get your way, you thank him. In a situation where somebody you love is in the hospital, there is nothing you can do. It kills you that there is nothing you can do. Praying makes you feel like you're somehow contributing something, and there's nothing wrong with it. If it makes you feel better go for it.
Plus the vast majority of christians display a solid blend of ignorance, hypocrisy and the love for judging people. Not that most people aren't ignorant, it just matters more when you're telling people you know everything

Well I do feel love. I believe in karma. Doing things for other not for the sake of getting something in return. I try to spread love around everywhere I go. So that's pretty much where I'm at now. I know the whole, good deeds if they aren't for jesus are worthless thing. But they aren't worthless, I'm not trying to save up any points or anything. I'm just trying to help people when I can and spread some love and good vibes around while I'm on this earth.

I know, it's hard for a lot of people to rap your head around the idea, one be-ing created all this in as little as 6 days and that a man could be born from a virgin and could die on the cross for all of us. It's hard to imagine, life being created from the dirt and a rib bone. But, if you shut yourself in a closet, close your eyes and try to imagine not continuing on even after your body has quit living. I always see past that in my mind. I believe!

First of it's "those" not "dose". Believing in false hope can make people feel better about themselves. They just believe that no matter what their life has a purpose from god and feel better. It's the placebo effect

Lol. I find this amusing. Everyone talks like this, hell I could bomb out christian music single after single. You just use all kinds of abstract thought and pretend you feel what everyone else is supposed to feel. A mix of the placebo effect, and false hope. It wasn't like I wasn't brought up with religion. I know a lot about the bible, the faith, the thing as a whole. I just went on a quest for knowledge. Either I was going to come back with a very real faith, unlike most hypochristians, or...
or I was going to keep searching for truths. I'm not an atheist. I'm more agnostic. My problem with most religious people, is the terrible close mindedness that they hold. In many churches it is actually taught. You should always have an open mind. BE willing to look at things that go against what you believe. Try to prove and disprove things. If you have a closed mind, you have never tried to disprove what you believe, therefore it isn't that real. But that's not the way it's taught.
I used to be on a debate team in high school. I would look at the other people's point and try to prove/disprove it, figure out what there main point of argument would be, then find a ridiculous amount of reasons with backing and solid responses to anything they said. The problem with closed minded people, is the ignorance. And ignorant people can't debate, they can't argue about, they simply get emotional for the most part. This goes along with people in general these days not just religion.

Just because people did not believe that the earth was round, did not make it flat. Like the apostle Paul, the LORD Jesus has revealed Himself to me and many others. Paul's testimony of 2000 years ago is consistent with mine and others in 2010. Out of the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses it has been established, whether you like it or not or believe it or not it is finished.

Everyone is forgivren but not everyone accepts it. When I listen to this song...I can just close my eyes and let my mind drift back to all the memories of wonderful things He has done for me, like filling me with the Holy Ghost, and all the times in the middle of the night when I think no one cares and I just start praising Him and He covers me with His annointing, and all the times when He does something small to let me know he hears my prayers. This was the song that made me become a christian last year!!!! I never knew what song it was called until literally yesterday, I was in the car and I was saying how I didn't want to go to church anymore because I had school and I didn't have time. Then the song came on in the radio and everything kind of stopped, and I was like wow... <3 I'm still going to church, and I plan to for the rest of my life. :)

No sign of a god, before, during or after, natural disastres B) The absolute absence of favoritism towards believers. Even chruches need lightning-rods to protect them from god. C) The absence of any reaction, when crimes are committed in his name. D) The suffering of the innocent. One could accept that the guilty must suffer, but children ???

If his not, it doesn`t make any sense, to pray for rain, or health, or anything in this world. If he does, why doesn`t at least spare the innocent. There might be a god, but there cannot be a loving caring, compassionate god. He might be a sadist, enjoying human suffering. That would explain a lot .

@tallliza Natural disasters do occur. In fact, His word said there will be earthquakes in diverse places. His Word says the wind blows where it may, and it rains on the wicked and just. You try to interpret the bible, yet you are too ignorant of it to be able to even hold a good conversation about it. If you are to attack a subject, please, at least have the common courtesy to develop an understanding of it before you do. Thank you. :)

@tallliza God can control the elements, of course. He also allows them to go as they will. He COULD control us, but He gives us free will. It is a matter of setting things in motion. If we never experience hard times, we will never know we need Him. If you ever look at any revival of Christianity, you will see it usually follows something happening, be it negative or positive. When we get too comfortable, which the old testament is all about, we become complaisant.

@tallliza I can show you the scriptures, which is what Israel seems to teach us time and again, where we are given free reign to worship Him or not Worship Him. When we begin to rely too much on ourselves, we place ourselves back into the whirlwind of "wherever the wind blows", and it surely blows..lol. However, when we place our trust and faith in God, it does not change the whirlwind, it changes us, and how we view things. I will give an example in next reply...LOL.

@tallliza Paul had it all as Saul...say that 10 times...but he counted everything as dung compared to receiving Christ. He was stoned, he was beaten, he was imprisoned, he was tortured, and eventually his head was cut off. He is an actual figure in history. Through that, he didn't care. He knew what he had in Christ. He was happier with Christ, even with all of his trials and tribulations, than he was without Christ, living it up so to speak. Why?

@tallliza I fear you will quickly become frustrated trying to convince those of us that have had an actual experience with God, that He does not exist. All the facts of science that most do not know, will mean nothing to them compared to their experience. All of the misquoting of the bible, or even the bad religion out there, wont mean a thing compared to an experience with Him. Non-believers consider themselves enlightened, and I understand that. They however are not. I wasn't, thought I was.

@tallliza I know a young man, 90% of his body is burned and scarred. He has many more surgeries to endure. His parents were angry at God. He went to church regularly, and loves it. We were talking, and he told me his scars were a blessing, even though someone told him they were not. I asked him why he thought that. He said he couldnt put it into words, but knew God had plans for him. He is a happy guy, no bitterness, no worries. He knows God is there. His parents are now in church. Experience.

@tallliza Actually the Jews did understand we had an eternal soul. Moses wrote the majority of the old testament, he understood what the soul was. In fact, he understood what science is just now catching up on, as far as the swirling matter becoming a part of everything in the universe. Look how he describes creation. My point is, if you wish to really delve into it, get past religion, which was introduced into Christianity about 400 years after Christ, about all I will say on that.

@Lizazoon. god didn't create those to be killers, but tests against the will of humans. To see if through all those struggles we would remain followers of him. We must trust him in the good as well as the bad. And as for saying science did all that good..? Where did the scientists get their knowledge? A blessing from god. He allowed them to find cures and things to benefit human life. As the bible says in Romans 8:28 "and we know that in all things god works for the good of those who love him"

If the only thing God and prayer is good for is giving hope, well then you have said all that needs to be said. The only thing we have in this life is hope, hope of something better when this body is laid down. If someone has tried to share that hope, which is in Christ Jesus, then you know that they care enough about you to at least try to share this Hope. All I know is that when I fulfill the second of the two great commandments, which is to love thy neighbor as thyself, at least I am trying.

Newsboys, dc talk, casting crowns, jars of clay, 3rd day, m smith, like everyone. that was all when I was younger. I still enjoy the music once in a while while driving cross country but I just don't believe in the message.

@optionaxis Religion, all too often gets in the way. Church's are split because of religion and doctrine. The most important thing you need to know is that God loves you. The Bible does not say come to me through religion, but rather; John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
It is a personal relationship with God that will bring you fulfilment in life. Praying for you.

I can quote scripture as well. I know plenty of verses. The thing about the personal relationship with god I don't believe. It's easy to say you feel something because you're supposed to feel it. You think there is something there when there isn't. I'm not an atheist, I'm more agnostic. I was brought up with religion, the whole deal from before I can remember.

Even when there wasn't any real relationship with God I prayed that there would be. I did everything I could, nothing. I'm open minded, I'm not afraid to go against something I was taught to believe. There just wasn't anything backing it.I mean I had a personal relationship with God in terms of believing there was somebody there on the other end of the phone and talking to them, actually believing they were seeing all and hearing all. If I pray to a rock I have the same chances. 50/50

@optionaxis Here's a book that really helped me when I couldn't figure out why I was missing the relationship with God. It's called "Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God" by Henry & Richard Blackaby. I do have relationship with God, I just didn't know how to recoginize it. He continues to bless me with spiritual growth. You can know all the scriptures and know about God, but come judgement day, you want to be sure He knows you! Blessings to You!

I'm not going to waste my time reading a book trying to convince myself of that. When you pray to god, if you get your way, you thank him. If you pray to god and you don't get what you wanted you thank him anyway. You really have just as good a shot either way, praying makes 0 difference. Only thing it's good for is giving hope.

In a situation where somebody you love is in the hospital, there is nothing you can do. It kills you that there is nothing you can do. Praying makes you feel like you're somehow contributing something, and there's nothing wrong with it. If it makes you feel better go for it.
Plus the vast majority of christians display a solid blend of ignorance, hypocrisy and the love for judging people. Not that most people aren't ignorant, it just matters more when you're telling people you know everything

@optionaxis Don't worry about the vast majority of anybody. There is only one who was perfect, only one who can stand in the breach between us and God and restore us to Him. Look at Him. Talk to Him, Jesus. That's all, friend , He will hear you. I know I sound a little "out there" talking about that baby rhino, google it and watch it.
Sure, it would make anyone happy to see what happened, but U have to ask your self what are the chances of that happening without divine intervention.

@optionaxis You are so right . When someone you love is suffering or leaving this life, it hurts so bad.but when you have Jesus to help you through it and you know there is a better life and world to come, there's that word hope again.
I think you really want to feel Jesus in your heart and life and I believe you will. Actually, He is there in your heart already, even though you haven't had a personal encounter yet. It's the love you feel for anyone, or even a pet. God is Love. =)

Well I do feel love. I believe in karma. Doing things for other not for the sake of getting something in return. I try to spread love around everywhere I go. So that's pretty much where I'm at now. I know the whole, good deeds if they aren't for jesus are worthless thing. But they aren't worthless, I'm not trying to save up any points or anything. I know, it's hard for a lot of people to rap your head around the idea, one be-ing created all this in as little as 6 days and that a man could be born from a virgin and could die on the cross for all of us. It's hard to imagine, life being created from the dirt and a rib bone. But, if you shut yourself in a closet, close your eyes and try to imagine not continuing on even after your body has quit living. I always see past that in my mind. I believe!

My church in Portsmouth, NH which is on the eastern seaboard of the United States was very fortunate the summer of 2009 to be able to get Among The Thirsty to play at our church Hope Christian Fellowship Advent Christian Church. I don't believe in god. I don't believe in creation nor evolution. I'm not an atheist, just agnostic. I see no reason to believe in something that can't be proven. With so many hypochristians out there that aren't even living anything. Most christians like most people are quite ignorant anyway. If you can deny truths regardless of religion or not I find people to be ignorant. But with religion this is important to me because they are believing something on nothing but faith

or I was going to keep searching for truths. I'm not an atheist. I'm more agnostic. My problem with most religious people, is the terrible close mindedness that they hold. In many churches it is actually taught. You should always have an open mind. BE willing to look at things that go against what you believe. Try to prove and disprove things. If you have a closed mind, you have never tried to disprove what you believe, therefore it isn't that real. But that's not the way it's taught.

I used to be on a debate team in high school. I would look at the other people's point and try to prove/disprove it, figure out what there main point of argument would be, then find a ridiculous amount of reasons with backing and solid responses to anything they said. The problem with closed minded people, is the ignorance. And ignorant people can't debate, they can't argue about, they simply get emotional for the most part. This goes along with people in general these days not just religion.

Just because people did not believe that the earth was round, did not make it flat. Like the apostle Paul, the LORD Jesus has revealed Himself to me and many others. Paul's testimony of 2000 years ago is consistent with mine and others in 2010. Out of the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses it has been established, whether you like it or not or believe it or not it is finished.

Here's the thing. I WAS wasting my life until I started to follow Jesus. I'm not living for the afterlife. I'm living for today and to make the most of my time. It is a precious gift. Unless you have someone to help guide you who is way smarter than yourself, you will squander your gift away by chasing lusts. I have done that. It sucks. It is hard to imagine anything else exists. But it does. People find it in different ways. But it does exist.

When I listen to this song...I can just close my eyes and let my mind drift back to all the memories of wonderful things He has done for me, like filling me with the Holy Ghost, and all the times in the middle of the night when I think no one cares and I just start praising Him and He covers me with His annointing, and all the times when He does something small to let me know he hears my prayers.
