ugh, they are a foooooooooooooooool!!!!!! and i mean that in a good way. they killed me with their accent and how they were singing, especially the female otter. just cocking her head back everytime she hits a high note with her bottom lip trembling.............LOL!!!!!!! i miss this so damn much. i just happened to stumble onto these videos. and they bring back so many good memeries.
We were too poor to have HBO or cable at all so I only saw this once. I never forgot it. I purchased it on VHSwhenI had my first child. Haven't found in on disc yet.
i used to and still wonder that to this day. those puppeteers back then were geniuses and very talented as heck. how they did like different shots and angles with the cameras. how they made it look like the male otter was really rowing, to the water effect and sound everytime the ores went into the water.......
Yes, the first and so far only Christmas special to open with a song about the main characters' fat, dead grandmother. But, God willing, not the last.
what bulls**t!!! i have the video of this and it's edited! some of this isn't in it, and neither is ma's line to the fox lady "if you wouldn't mind falling off the dock!". i feel jipped. i hate when they edit stuff for release so that it's "suitable" for youngins
one of my all time fave christma s movies . i loved this every holiday, i remembe r it well when it cam e out , take s me back to a good childhood a pure classic, i love this movie, i love ma otter and emmett the voices crack me up, dont make them like this anymore and will never
great movie my all time favorite .thanks for posting ...i have 2 diffrent versions of this movie .but none of them have this extended song .can u let us know where you got this so i could get it thanks
Actually, a scene with the full song was never shot. This appears to be a well-done combo of looped footage with audio from the Making-Of special. Pretty convincing, and the song makes more sense with the missing verses.
This is so freaky nostalgic that I can't even say.
So glad that this is on here.
Just a side note: How cool is it that Emmit is singing with his ma about his fat dead grandma?

This will always remind me of Christmas time with "Aunt Pattie". We always watched Emmet Otter. Found out years later she hated the little guy. :D
