  • i love this song no matter how many thumbs up is ther.......fkn FAILS

  • I LOVE this song no matter what state of consciousness I'm in.

  • Quickest 8:23 mins of my life......of wait sorry, drugs.

  • I'm a newt and I LOVE ponds

  • I am dugs and LOVE this song.

  • Ok lets settle this..... you don't need drugs to make anco better..... you need to open your mind and let the music flow through you (now for some people drugs help them get to that state of mind)

Personally, I don't want drugs, anco is perfect to me as is, because Animal Collective is one of the greatest bands, only a handful of bands have the experimentation, emotion, production, and vocals of anco....

  • @jimissarcastic Na I agree with you that you need to open your mind, but drugs don't just get you to that state you could achieve sober...they bring you so much further. If you don't want to do it that's absolutely fine...but trust me...there's nothing else like it

  • @Android480 Maybe to get into the stuff on danse or campfire songs.... that stuff is probably really awesome on drugs, cause it makes no sense sober

  • First time listener...i'm sold.

  • There's something about this song that makes me feel like a child again.

So much innocence, if only we could go back.

  • why does everyone listen to ac on drugs?

  • @StrangeClams because a hell of a lot of their music is what being on drugs feels like

  • Haha the top comments are about drugs. Except this comment. Its a comment about comments on drugs.

  • but either way you look at it, you have your fits i have my fits but feeling is goooooood

  • meth shall over come you all

  • Comment removed

  • I don't do drugs and LOVE this song.

  • @jwb143

you'd lose your shit on drugs, probably like it too much. good for you.

  • you know what? feeling is good

  • psychedelia - from greek psyche (soul); to manifest. literally soul-manifesting. a psychedelic experience is categorized by the striking perception of aspects of one's mind previously unknown.

a healing experience which essentially rearranges the narrative of memories within your mind (ego) so that you are more aware and attentive to your soul (subconscious) desires.

    start your own religion!

  • 24 people are trying to be hipsters and missing out on a masterpiece. And eyeproceeds comment also makes me wanna do some psychedelics too! I saw animal collective at Pitchfork on some boomers, and that changed my life in an amazing way.

  • @94ddare It really does. Theres a reason that stuff is illegal. Because it's too good. You can't do psychadelics everyday or it wouldn't mean anything anymore. (+it'd be hard to function) I just listen to animal collective when I do Chi Gong breathing techniques to meditate before bed! I have felt more spiritual and in contact with my inner conscience.

  • confirmed for comfy

  • WHY CANT I HOLD ALL THESE FEELS

  • My favorite part:

You forgot about the things that he could say like

I dont think that I like you anymore

Well I found new feelings at the feeling store

and I cant find you at our kissing place

and im scared of those new pair of eyes you have

    Gotta love young fickle love.

  • I found new feelings at the feelings store. *swoon*

  • I'm in love with love

  • This song is so sad... I quite don't understand what it means. I know it has to do about a relationship that didn't work out, but the middle section seems to be more of a personal relationship the songwriter had which only he could understand.

  • this song is not bullshit

people looking for songs 2 hate on is bullshit, obviously don't actually get the song, why listen? you scared of losing you're ignorance? woooohoo

  • DRUGS DRUGGS JRUGGS JRUGGGZ JURUGGZ bla fucking bla. You are all lame 16-22 year old posers. No one knows who you are, ergo you fail in your attempt at impressing people that you have mastered the art of swallowing, breathing, squeezing, what have you. But then of course it's merely self-congratulatory ego-worshipping, isn't it? Pathetic. An utter disgrace.

  • @1ofdiamonds you sound like you're pissed off all the time like your life sucks. maybe you should give drugs a try...

  • @1ofdiamonds never done drugs, but animal collective are one of my favorite bands...

  • dont blame the drugs dudes... stop looking for something to blame, generally speaking. fuckin muppets.. god bless mr portner for having the balls to sell himself to a largely unappreciative public.

  • You know that giddy feeling you get in your spine when something really really good happened..or you're in a great fucking mood. Obviously, certain drugs facilitate this easily, but it can happen sober too. That feeling..whatever it is..feels like ecstasy, creativity, peace, love, happiness, evolution, and hope...all at the same time. It just feels "right." Maybe it's merely dopamine..but that still doesn't explain the perception itself. AC's music, more than anyone, conjures that feeling in me.

  • Listen to this song, get in a pool and turn to the stars. Thank me later.

  • I love falling asleep to this song

  • I get dry after the swimming pool...

  • This album is what LSD means to me.

  • @velvenhavi bet you feel stupid for saying MPP is better than feels now, eh?

  • Animal Collective is my drug.

  • emotions all over the place!

  • This is one of those songs that would be played at the end of an indie film, where the lead character is sitting by himself on a high-speed Amtrak on a rainy, cloudy November afternoon. He just broke up with his girlfriend, and he's staring out the window reflecting about life as the little towns zip past him, and he wonder what life holds in store for him across the country. You know, typical indie film bullshit.

  • @SclafaniBagni hahaha your funny

  • this song plus rainy mood is ear sex

  • this song is great and so is my high right now hahaha

  • @floatingprisonship Try listening to Gold Panda - "You" Your mind will be raped haha also Quitters Raga geeze talk about mind fuck. Have fun!

  • this song + acid + mdma+ friends = amazing

  • best eight minutes and twenty four seconds of my life

  • Oh my god...animal collective + acid is just tops

  • I do drugs and LOVE this song.

  • i think we're all free.

  • @Hotsushidog I've been there.

  • i love this fuzzy feeling, its like a ball of excitement that cant get released, but i love it

  • confusion's not a ??? in my brain....I always heard "candy store" but the web says "kidney stone"....weird. I like my version better :D

  • @coooooooooooooool mother fucker i cant unhear candy store now what the fuck

  • best album. ever.

  • this song hits me in a special place.

  • so many memories... i love this song it's my favourite ever.

  • I was listening to this when I remembered.

  • best. song. ever.

  • 3:00 minutes in...yessssssssssssssssssssss

  • @StealTheCheese 0:00-8:24 . . . yesssssssssssssss

  • there was a time in my life were I was on acid with a bunch of really close friends. and we listened to their whole discography. And our conversations flowed everywhere to feelings and connections with people. To childhood memories to tigers on the sofa. we put on a light show and blew smoke in the lights to see angels dancing to the songs. and the wirings in my head at least were rearranged at that point. You guys really dont understand how much you grow the fuck up from being a little childish

  • @eyeproceed that is sweet, a positive trip no doubt

  • @eyeproceed You're basically saying the music alone isn't enough for these things to happen. And yes, taking acid is very childish. You're an attention-seeking twat. Get over your life.

  • @eyeproceed oh my god you made me want to go and get really high right now. (fuck weed though)

  • @eyeproceed wow, i never thought of that. but its true. im 20, and just ten years ago i was a kid. amazing to think how radically different the world appears to me, and how i perceive it

  • @eyeproceed beautiful man reading with the starting of the song

  • This song is a drug

  • i want this played at my funeral

  • "i wonder why... didn't work out."

    makes me want to cry.

  • making this kind of music.... it's absolutely not to say that what AC makes could be done without drugs, but.... you really start understanding where it's coming from after you listen to it for a while. Either way... I'm proud to listen to AC with or without my dear weed.... their just as brilliant either way.... but drugs do release a certain insight into feeling a different way about music... I'm not in anyway promoting the use... just sharing my experience

  • @blooduptomyankles well my friend it's not that everyone wants to relate AC to drugs, it's just that it takes someone to do drugs to understand how somebody on drugs would make music.... there's clearly not an assumption that AC is on drugs but you have look at their references... their videos are a sign of heavy acid absorption.... personally i've always liked my music on herb and no other drug.... but people have their will and they'll do as they please... it's just the culture that comes with

  • Why does everyone have to relate the animal collective and drugs? Let's think outside the box for a moment, here.

  • @blooduptomyankles What's the big deal? Everybody knows that they even experimented with LSD. Who cares? Let's not endorse it but let´s not deny it, either. They make great music. That's everything to me in my life.

PS: Panda Bear lives in my city. Lisbon Rules. Peace!

  • @blooduptomyankles They did LSD. Let's not endorse it but let's not deny it, either.

Who cares? Brilliant music for the fucked up lives we live.

PS: Panda Bear lives in my city...Lisbon rules!

    Peace.

  • I just had a realization of why all I really listen to is Animal Collective. It's really because they are like 10 bands rolled into one. There is so much diversity in their

albums that I don't need to listen to anything else. They also reach a much broader emotional landscape than any band I have ever listened to. But I can sense that they are growing older and that their music is becoming less like Feels and Spirit they've Gone, Spirit they've Vanished, for better or worse.

  • Noah's voice is so haunting.

  • I can always turn to Animal Collective for everything in my life, thank you

  • This is the song that's playing when you die and you're about to enter the gates of Heaven.

  • the best song ever... really...

  • tis song acts like painkillers to me. it's like a natural drug.

  • @ZACKnirvana me too, i feel like i'm actually high when I listen to animal collective. and it's perfect for when I'm feeling depressed... it takes me out of normal constricting everyday emotions into some wild and strange but GOOD thing

  • @lmfviolet78 wow, yeah i couldn't explain it better myself. that's exactly how i feel to.

  • this song relates to me so much. <3

  • @Hotsushidog

though i was fish or gecko or toad but i might be more mammal-like because i am bouncing. don't think they bounce to warm music. i might be a weird bird. Oh I wanted to be a fox. but then this wolf ate my flower. it was horrible. now im not sure at all. ;c

  • you have your fits. i have my fits. but feeling is goood.

  • This song reminds me of a very special girl I know. She hates all my music, thinks all the TV I watch is stupid, she doesn't understand why I can't just buckle down and do my Goddamn school work, she thinks I'm lazy and have a lousy work ethic, and she makes me angrier than just about anyone I've ever met, but I'll be damned if I don't love her with all of my being. I want it all back.

  • the swimming POOOOOOOOOOOOO-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!! the best part of any song ever

  • really interesting, dark song in the ac canon. love their genuinely inventive approach to music, its amazing how that can experiment so much lyrically and instrumentally and still create such profound and moving music

  • I don't do drugs and I like this song.

  • @naseoj

You don't need to do drugs to enjoy Animal Collective.

    But it helps.

  • @naseoj

I wear blue shirts alot and I like this song

  • @naseoj fag

  • @naseoj I'm not on drugs and I didn't like this song. Thus invalid point.

  • Comment removed

  • @naseoj Who cares "generic posting youtube member"

  • @naseoj well woopty fuckin dooo

  • @naseoj animal collective IS a drug

  • @naseoj if it wasn't for drugs, this song would never have been created. sir, indulge in drugs and create inspiration for the future generations

  • "I don’t think that I like you anymore,

well I found new feelings at the feeling store.

    And I can't find you at our kissing place;

well I’m scared of those new pair of eyes you have."

I need a hug after that.

  • @vandands me too

  • FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK MAAAAAN!!!! THIS SONG IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

  • woah people like a comment saying this isn't a good animal collective song? i think this song is great.

  • @cantstopthebananaman thats right. you think its a great song. other people dont. its all subjective really

  • I don't want to be a bragy bitch but I'm stoned.

  • Comment removed

  • people shouldn't argue . just sit back and enjoy the music dudes ...

  • you losers should just listen to the music and find something better to do than piss all over each other...this song is a good song..if you dont like it good for you leave your comments to yourself...grow the fuck up and act like a fucking human being and not some dumbass shooting insults at each other...it is rediculous that you take your time to berate someone you will never meet. Thats the only reason why you do it also...because youre safe...on your computer...something a child does.

  • i feel like this is going to be one of those songs that i'll never forget, i hope i don't anyway!

  • Comment removed

  • I miss you song. <3

  • @ChrisRedmanMVP if you don't like this song, why waste a comment on it. there's plenty of horrible music on youtube, but I don't have the time to go around talking crap about the music I don't like. if you do, that's sad, and not only are you unwilling to admit that maybe there's something in this song that you're not seeing, you're being a douche about it. i just got to the 4 minute mark of the track and I'm loving it. it's great. that's subjective. opinion. nobody else sounds like this.

  • the pacing is detrimental every listen after the first

its not like i dont listen thru it anyway...

  • @ChrisRedmanMVP I don't like it because it deviates from the other bullshit, but that's beside the point. Even if you hate this song for whatever reason, the songwriting is huge amounts better than Rebecca Black's Music Maker. Compare 'I found new feelings at the feeling store' and 'hop a fence, leave the street and wet your feet to find the swimming pool' with 'partying partying yeah fun fun fun fun' and 'today it is friday, tomorrow it is Saturday, and Sunday comes afterwards

  • sorry guys. i hated it. nothing against the people who like it but this song about as garbage as friday by rebecca black. just because it deviates from the normal bull shit like justin beiber and what is left of "rap" these days does not make it good. that is all.

  • @ChrisRedmanMVP WHAT THE FUCK? this song is so fucking beautiful. if you think this isnt good at all then youre just not intelligent enough to understand it. HA like what you say matters anyway. you have a video of "Hard Epic Futuristic Hip-Hop {Rap} Instrumental" ahahaha get the fuck outa here XD

  • @sfuture08 lol one of the "you just don't get it" guys. get off your high horse pal. i get what the song is about and all that and the message. it's just that it sounds like shit.

  • @ChrisRedmanMVP im not even sure if i fully understand exactly what the song's about. but its really easy to create your own meaning to it and instill whatever emotion you want out of it. thats a good fucking song. im not on a high horse "pal" your condescending use of friendly terms tells me youre a douche and you know nothing about music. but whatever. you cant help what you dislike but you dont need to voice it. go comment on some Hard Epic Futuristic Hip-Hop. your opinion does not maatter

  • @sfuture08 what are you even talking about? did you really go through my favorites? do you have a life at all? and you're concluding that i don't know anything about music because an independent hip-hop instrumental is in my favorites list? and YOU'RE calling ME a douche?

  • @sfuture08 its not on your favorites, douche. its the first video on your page. anyone who compares animal collective to Rebecca Black is a straight up idiot. "sorry guys" who gives a fuck what you think, aha dont apologize.. we dont expect anything more from you. nothing you say matters. go away. youre the one who keeps arguing back. sooo you dont have a life either? because you have to have NO LIFE to find a minute to listen to music and comment on some retard's unnecessary negative remark.

  • the comments on this song are crazy dumb, yo

  • thumbs up if QC has brought you here

  • This is one of the few songs ever made that puts me in a good mood, and I can literally just keep it on repeat. Avey, Panda Bear, Geologist, Deakin, you are musical geniuses.

  • @dyltr0n3030 right dude?? EVERY SINGLE time it comes on my iopd shuffle i listen to it all the way through. Will never get old

  • Comment removed

  • trolling = pissed of music tubers lol

  • I like cats and dogs.birds have a little thing that I like about them, too.Smashing pumpkins sounds better as something to do than a band to listen to.I was sober when I wrote poem.Send help ASAP!!!Now I'm like the police;sending anSOStoyou....wohhhohhh

  • i a messed up right about now! THANK YOU animal collective

  • I imagine running through a field with my arms up through this whole song.

  • i love it! very calming and makes me feel like i am on a nice trip full of

coulour and feelinhgs/emotion, a good song. thanks.

  • i dont love animal collective but i absolutely love this song this is amazing

  • @DrWillHird me too. i dont love animal collective but this song is just so good. along with Did You See the Words

  • I just drove to a park and listened to this. I was just THERE and where were you? Probably back on planetEarth...

  • this song gives me a certain feeling that i love everytime i listen to it. AC Forever!(:

  • One of the best songs. Ever.

    Hands down :)

  • This band deserves a lot more attention

  • This song makes me cry every fucking time I hear it....And reading the lyrics with the song is an experience within itself.

  • god is music

  • just replayed this eight times. it'll haunt me for the rest of my life.

  • medicince...

  • drugs are awesome with or without music and music is awesome with of without drugs but the two together are better than sex and besides most of the great musicians are on drugs to begin with take the grateful dead for example( ac just happens to be fans of the dead in case you didnt know) so to say that music is the root is just absurd they are both fundamental to eachother, your statement is like saying indefinately that the egg came first in which came first the chicken or the egg?

  • The moment is gone

She asked the question and I...

    Regret is painful

    -Joseph

  • down to find the swimming poooOOOOOLLL!!

  • To me this song is like....

Somebody that is losing it and is aware of it.

  • does anyone know where i can find more bands similar to AC and the bands that are on that take away show ? thanks!

  • @portraitphenomenon I've never been able to find a band similar to AC, but definitely check out Panda Bear's solo albums and Avey Tare's solo album "Down There' - awesome stuff

  • @SleeperFactory5 i think some of alvin bands stuff sounds like them. check them out if you already havnt.

  • @sellout87 Hey thanks man, you're right they are similar...I had never heard of them before but I like it

  • So simple and beautiful, 8:24 seems almost too short...

  • The reason why this song is called Banshee Beat is because the boys were playing some Halo 2 while they were recording Feels for days and then one day, while they were playin' some online, the Deak was all like "YO! WE GOTTA NAME DIS TRACK!!!" and then Panda was like what should we call it? Then Geo's headlamp turns on as Geo says, "I GOT IT!" Avey spits out his Mountain Dew and goes "What is it?!" and Geo goes "Let's call it Banshee Beat, a tribute to the Halo video games."

  • ...what? Do you even know what a banshee is?

get off the violence find some silence

  • Yes I do actually.

  • CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY IS THE SONG NAMED "BANSHEE BEAT" ? urgh it's been bugging me for too long..

  • I I love how delicate this song is. This is best experienced somewhere comfortable and quiet, with eyes closed.

  • i like how this is this youtuber's only video, but it doesnt matter because its a good song :)

  • I was looking for a good Animal Collective song.. but I didn't find it.

  • @PorroFirst You're so cute. Maybe you want a reply like "Fuck you" or "WTF dude why are you typing that, this rocks you moron". No, I'll agree with you. You didnt find a good Animal Collective song. In fact, let me put it this way. You don't even care for Animal Collective. Music isnt what brought you here. Simply put, your ego wants to grow by pissing other people off so you feel greater,as one would assume such a comment on this video is provocative. The thing is, your ego is your worst enemy.

  • @YornMan Hehheh.. I just gave you a thumbs up.

  • @YornMan FUCKYOU :D!!!

  • @YornMan The fact of him getting enjoyment from other people's misery isn't really psychological wrongs; more of the fact of schaudenfreude. It's normal to get a laugh off of irrationally angry people; you're just feeding the flames by trying to psychoanalyze a troll.

  • @Sonoskeakigawa

I dont see Ive fed any flames, more like cooled them. As I said, feeding the flames would be replying "fuck you bla bla" and start another majorly useless argument over a song. Youtube is full of these people I replied to, making Internet space full of immature rubbish. There's no right or wrong here, just freedom, maybe too much of it. Then again kids want to express themselves, I'm ok with that, but somebody should tell them to shut the fuck up once in a while. Hello parents?

  • @Sonoskeakigawa

Now since I have no authority to shut someone up, I'd rather take a more subtle approach. That's why I psychoanalyze, because envolving in direct confrontation would feed the flames, as you said. I'd rather make them understand who they are and eventually they'll calm down, like this one did. Wall of text deluxe, I rest my case. Good day sir.

  • @YornMan He just said he didn't find a good animal collective song. I don't think that warrants any psychoanalysis. At all. You think too much. People voicing their opinion of animal collective shouldn't be such a bad problem. I looked back a little bit and found the original comment. Think about what you're saying instead of blindly defending a band. I sorta like this song, yeah, but you don't need to pretend everyone who's voicing an opinion contrary to yours is a troll.

  • @YornMan tl;dr: Enough with your passive-aggressive bullshit. You are telling him to shut up, as subtle as it is.

  • @Sonoskeakigawa

It is a nice song isn't it? Animal Collective are one of my favourite bands, so I wouldn't consider myself blind for appreciating their music. Let's leave it at that.

  • @YornMan If you don't consider yourself blind, then quit acting so. People don't all conform to your standards of musical interest.

  • @YornMan Wow, best reply I've seen on here to an asshole in...forever.

  • @YornMan Yorn man, my brother...I don't agree with most of what you're saying and I love AC....you have so many thumbs up though!
