I just had a realization of why all I really listen to is Animal Collective. It's really because they are like 10 bands rolled into one. There is so much diversity in their
albums that I don't need to listen to anything else. They also reach a much broader emotional landscape than any band I have ever listened to. But I can sense that they are growing older and that their music is becoming less like Feels and Spirit they've Gone, Spirit they've Vanished, for better or worse.

Even if you hate this song for whatever reason, the songwriting is huge amounts better than Rebecca Black's Music Maker. Compare 'I found new feelings at the feeling store' and 'hop a fence, leave the street and wet your feet to find the swimming pool' with 'partying partying yeah fun fun fun fun' and 'today it is friday, tomorrow it is Saturday, and Sunday comes afterwards

The reason why this song is called Banshee Beat is because the boys were playing some Halo 2 while they were recording Feels for days and then one day, while they were playin' some online, the Deak was all like "YO! WE GOTTA NAME DIS TRACK!!!" and then Panda was like what should we call it? Then Geo's headlamp turns on as Geo says, "I GOT IT!" Avey spits out his Mountain Dew and goes "What is it?!" and Geo goes "Let's call it Banshee Beat, a tribute to the Halo video games."
