Tracy is way better. He's a great shooter, great passer, great 1vs1 player, he can read the defense, split the screen, turn the corner and jump shot or drive to the hoop, or even dish to the teammates. You are over-simplifying a complicated question. T-Mac hasn't played for a team that had a roster that could contend with the truly big teams, one guy can't do it all (even Kobe can't). Rockets were a team with limited talent and depth even when both T-Mac and Yao were ready to play (and that wasn't too often). - Been a Magic fan since 1991 and while T-Mac put up the better individual stats from a scoring point of view, i'd take a Prime Penny over a Prime McGrady any day.. Penny wasn't a stat guy, he believed in team basketball (not saying T-Mac didn't), but was a better playmaker and could play PG and was one of the best passers i've ever seen. Penny was always pass first, shoot second, Tmac was a scorer who could pass. Penny just played with more intensity and a more balanced player
